    bathroom needs repair

Disappointed - we stayed at the Tucson location a few days prior and had a much better experience. I wouldn't have found this place to be so bad if I didn't have the comparison. But we also had recently stayed at 2 other brands of extended stay hotels. The girl at the front desk was not friendly or eager to help. My biggest complaint is honestly that there was no luggage cart available. She said that someone had taken it a week ago and hadn't returned it and they didn't know where it was. The Tucson location had 3 carts. We were with our baby and had lots of items to bring inside. One of the elevators was done and we were parked far away. This put a big damper on our experience as I had to stay with the baby and send my husband out multiple times to go down the 4 floors, across the parking lot, to the car, and back. And then same thing when checking out. The bathroom trim needed repair. The shower was missing a shelf and was also missing body wash. I also hate that all they provide for hand soap is a bar of soap. The other hotels we stayed at on our trip had liquid hand soap. The quality of the shampoo and conditioner provided is low, so I opted to use my own. No breakfast is provided - other comparable hotels on our trip provided it. One of the biggest benefits of this hotel is having the in-room washer and dryer. They provide soap for 1 load and dryer sheets, which is appreciated. The area felt safe. There's a good Asian restaurant across the street. Overall, ok.

I had just accepted a job offer in Phoenix and started work on Aug 4. Needless to say I needed temporary housing. Searching online I found WATERWALK hotel nearby my new office. Literally less than a mile away! Talk about convenience! Not only that. When I checked in, I was in for an amazing surprise. The hotel lobby was so inviting with its beautiful lobby with a wonderful coffee machine that dispenses regular coffee, lattes, and cappuccinos! Great library and board games too! Not to mention a pool (which was great being that I checked in on a 110 degree day!) The room I had was complete with a kitchen (very modern contemporary!), a desk, sofa, closet with sufficient room for an extended stay guest. And what really sets them apart from all other extended stay hotels is that they have a washer and dryer in the unit! Imagine that convenience! The kitchen had all the utensils one would need. As I checked other extended stays in the area, you have to bring your own utensils. This place is a winner! I had it booked for only 3 days but immediately switched to one month after seeing the other places. You can't go wrong here! Book it now!

Our room's balcony is visible on the 3rd floor.

What a find! This is our new go-to place to stay when visiting Phoenix. The property is a combination of hotel and apartment complex. When we arrived in mid-April 2023, the property had only been open about two months. Everything was clean, modern, and well thought-out. The rooms are unlike any that you would find in another hotel. It has full-sized refrigerator, a two-burner electric stove, a dishwasher, and a washer and a dryer. It also has every amenity that you would need, including pots, pans, dishes, glassware, kitchenware, and cleaning supplies. No, they don't serve breakfast (it is half-apartments after all) but having a full-size kitchen made purchasing groceries nearby a cheaper and heathier option for eating "at home." Plus, on one night, they had a pool party for all, complete with DJ and a food truck that provided food for free for guests. As for the staff - kudos to staffer Ryan. After we had checked out, I discovered that I had misplaced my sunglasses. Ryan went out of his way, while on the phone with him, to go to the room and look around for my glasses. Although they weren't there, he then followed up with housekeeping and called me the next day, when I was already back in Los Angeles, to report his further attempts to find my glasses. That perseverance and follow-up was much appreciated and pretty much guarantees that this is where we're staying the next time we're in town.

I booked a bungalow in the retreat area to have access to the 2 other temperature regulated pools. It was beautiful the retreat area is very nice, it's further away from Weft & Warp and the Turquoise pool so it quiet and relaxing. Maydeline at the Spa was very helpful and very in touch with guest needs. One step ahead everytime. Colin really saved the day with making sure we had everything we needed. Brennan was also really helpful at breakfast and bringing us water all the way to the retreat pool. There was a minor hiccup with requesting ice while we were there but they did take care of it and apologized the next day for it not being done promptly, the acknowledgement was great and it really was such a minor thing. They have lots of activities everyday that are included and they also have experiences you can pay for.

The hotel is inspired by the colorful and folk art influenced works of renowned mid-century modern architect and designer Alexander "Sandro" Girard. The hotel's bio says he was the main source of inspiration for the design of the Andaz Scottsdale. The property is beautiful to walk around, with all the landscaping, flowers and trees; some of them are marked with what kind of plant they are. There are century plants and aloe and various cacti. The fitness center is located at the spa. It has windows which open up onto the pool, which is a more private pool than the main pool. The staff is outstanding. Savannah, who ran the front desk on my most recent visit, is absolutely amazing and really helped with any questions or small issues with my stay. The restaurant is wonderful for the hotel breakfast. I recommend having cocktails there too. You can see a beautiful sunset from the bar. I love the open design of this hotel resort because it makes you feel like you're in the countryside and you can admire the beautiful views of Camelback as you walk around the grounds and hear birds chirping. It's so relaxing. Parking is easy and you can usually find a spot right outside your casita room as the parking circles the hotel. Toiletries in the room smell so good! Lavender with sea salt. It's really like staying in a spa! One of my favorite experiences at this hotel was taking a late afternoon outdoor class at the spa/gym on the large lawn where we did stretching/light resistance training with the the sunset behind Camelback Mountain as the backdrop. It was glorious. I definitely recommend trying one of the classes or "experiences" if you stay here. Some of them you have to pay extra for, but a few of them are included with your room rate. At first glance the hotel interiors and architecture seem extremely simple and minimal, but then you realize it's actually all a piece of mid-century modern inspired art. It's really fun to walk around and admire all the understated design details at this hotel.

I ordered 2 food items and pre paid for 3 beers the bill came out to $52.18 I didn't think much of it and even tipped 25% After I finished my third beer. I decided to order a cookie with ice cream and an old fashioned to take up to my room. Again I tipped 25% My phone has text alert and I noticed the bill was $42.62 for what should have been $22.00 max I bought it to my bar tenders attention and she was working things out on the registry and came back with a receipt that didn't have prices just my order but she had added 1 extra beer. I told her it was wrong and she said it wasn't that the first time she had only charged me for 2 beers and this was my third beer. I did not want to argue so I left it at that but I couldn't sleep thinking about it. I mean dang I even tipped her good. The next day I reached out. To management I don't mind taking care of my servers and I'm always a good tipper. But I don't like being taken advantage of because they think I had a few drinks. Or they think I won't notice extra things. This is not okay. The hotel you check into is supposed to be a safe place like home to enjoy a drink or two. The management offered to refund the first bill of 52.18. But I told him I just wanted what I was over charged refunded plus my tips. At this point I feel she had the chance to correct my bill and make things right but she chose to make me feel like I was in the wrong. After the manager added my first bill up after I told him what I had ordered it turns out she charged 4 beers the first time and not just my 3 and way over charged me the second time. This is a great place to stay but keep an eye on what you order. More so late at night. Also my hot wings were cold in the center but I didn't even mention it to her at the time. I bugged them three to five times a night and they never made me feel like I was actually bothering them. They were happy to help. They also have housekeeping stuff at the front, dried lavender packs, and shower steamers in case you want a little something extra. The only drawback for me was how much noise there was outside on Camelback Road. I know they can't do anything about that, but it kept me up. So it's something to consider.

Dining: TAQUERIA CENTRO -- 10 out of 10. The food and service were both exceptional. Manager Carlos did an outstanding job and was a true highlight of our stay. Prado -- 4 out of 10. We visited Prado twice during our stay. Our first visit was for breakfast -- the food was okay but noticeably overpriced for what was offered. Our second visit was a far worse experience. We were seated and waited 15 minutes without our server ever acknowledging us, so we got up and left. The service at this restaurant was consistently poor and the pricing did not reflect the quality or experience provided. Dining Options -- Room for Improvement. For a resort of this size and reputation, the dining options felt limited. We would strongly recommend adding at least one additional restaurant to give guests more variety. The snack and coffee shop, which could help fill that gap, closed far too early in the evening. Extending those hours would go a long way in improving the overall guest experience, particularly for those who want a light bite or a cup of coffee later in the day. The Room -- 6 out of 10. The room itself was nice, but there were several issues that fell well below the standard I would expect from a resort of this caliber. The bed was old and noticeably worn down, making for an uncomfortable night's sleep. To make matters worse, the comforter on the bed was torn and had visible holes in it -- something that should never make it into a guest room. We also struggled with the room temperature throughout the night and were unable to get it to cool down comfortably. A Bright Spot at Checkout: I spoke with Avery Williams, Director of Front Office, at checkout and she was genuinely outstanding. She was sincerely concerned about the issues we experienced and did everything she could to address them. She even followed up with an email after our departure, which was a very nice touch. Overall, I left feeling somewhat disappointed given the reputation of this resort. With a few improvements -- additional dining options, extended snack shop hours, updated room bedding and linens, and better temperature control -- along with a serious look at the service standards at Prado, this could easily be a 9 or 10 out of 10 experience.
