We liked each room and the amenities! Hotel is L-shaped. Ask for a quiet room. Rooms facing the streets have some car noise coming through the windows. Quiet rooms face west or north. Our top floor room faced the street and had a lowpitched hum with some street noise. It was quieter after we opened each window, closed it fully, and locked it. We also had a quiet third floor room that faced north over the parking lot. When you check in, you might ask for a parking pass that lets you park under covered parking for extra fee. Each room was spacious, and the equipment worked well. Good to have a washer, dryer, dishwasher, cups, and plates! Also had pots and pans. Decaf coffee options did not work in the lobby machine.

I had just accepted a job offer in Phoenix and started work on Aug 4. Needless to say I needed temporary housing. Searching online I found WATERWALK hotel nearby my new office. Literally less than a mile away! Talk about convenience! Not only that. When I checked in, I was in for an amazing surprise. The hotel lobby was so inviting with its beautiful lobby with a wonderful coffee machine that dispenses regular coffee, lattes, and cappuccinos! Great library and board games too! Not to mention a pool (which was great being that I checked in on a 110 degree day!) The room I had was complete with a kitchen (very modern contemporary!), a desk, sofa, closet with sufficient room for an extended stay guest. And what really sets them apart from all other extended stay hotels is that they have a washer and dryer in the unit! Imagine that convenience! The kitchen had all the utensils one would need. As I checked other extended stays in the area, you have to bring your own utensils. This place is a winner! I had it booked for only 3 days but immediately switched to one month after seeing the other places. You can't go wrong here! Book it now!

Our room's balcony is visible on the 3rd floor.

What a find! This is our new go-to place to stay when visiting Phoenix. The property is a combination of hotel and apartment complex. When we arrived in mid-April 2023, the property had only been open about two months. Everything was clean, modern, and well thought-out. The rooms are unlike any that you would find in another hotel. It has full-sized refrigerator, a two-burner electric stove, a dishwasher, and a washer and a dryer. It also has every amenity that you would need, including pots, pans, dishes, glassware, kitchenware, and cleaning supplies. No, they don't serve breakfast (it is half-apartments after all) but having a full-size kitchen made purchasing groceries nearby a cheaper and heathier option for eating "at home." Plus, on one night, they had a pool party for all, complete with DJ and a food truck that provided food for free for guests. As for the staff - kudos to staffer Ryan. After we had checked out, I discovered that I had misplaced my sunglasses. Ryan went out of his way, while on the phone with him, to go to the room and look around for my glasses. Although they weren't there, he then followed up with housekeeping and called me the next day, when I was already back in Los Angeles, to report his further attempts to find my glasses. That perseverance and follow-up was much appreciated and pretty much guarantees that this is where we're staying the next time we're in town.

The hotel is inspired by the colorful and folk art influenced works of renowned mid-century modern architect and designer Alexander "Sandro" Girard. The hotel's bio says he was the main source of inspiration for the design of the Andaz Scottsdale. The property is beautiful to walk around, with all the landscaping, flowers and trees; some of them are marked with what kind of plant they are. There are century plants and aloe and various cacti. The fitness center is located at the spa. It has windows which open up onto the pool, which is a more private pool than the main pool. The staff is outstanding. Savannah, who ran the front desk on my most recent visit, is absolutely amazing and really helped with any questions or small issues with my stay. The restaurant is wonderful for the hotel breakfast. I recommend having cocktails there too. You can see a beautiful sunset from the bar. I love the open design of this hotel resort because it makes you feel like you're in the countryside and you can admire the beautiful views of Camelback as you walk around the grounds and hear birds chirping. It's so relaxing. Parking is easy and you can usually find a spot right outside your casita room as the parking circles the hotel. Toiletries in the room smell so good! Lavender with sea salt. It's really like staying in a spa! One of my favorite experiences at this hotel was taking a late afternoon outdoor class at the spa/gym on the large lawn where we did stretching/light resistance training with the the sunset behind Camelback Mountain as the backdrop. It was glorious. I definitely recommend trying one of the classes or "experiences" if you stay here. Some of them you have to pay extra for, but a few of them are included with your room rate. At first glance the hotel interiors and architecture seem extremely simple and minimal, but then you realize it's actually all a piece of mid-century modern inspired art. It's really fun to walk around and admire all the understated design details at this hotel.

Again I tipped 25% My phone has text alert and I noticed the bill was $42.62 for what should have been $22.00 max I bought it to my bar tenders attention and she was working things out on the registry and came back with a receipt that didn't have prices just my order but she had added 1 extra beer. I told her it was wrong and she said it wasn't that the first time she had only charged me for 2 beers and this was my third beer. I did not want to argue so I left it at that but I couldn't sleep thinking about it. I mean dang I even tipped her good. The next day I reached out. To management I don't mind taking care of my servers and I'm always a good tipper. But I don't like being taken advantage of because they think I had a few drinks. Or they think I won't notice extra things. This is not okay. The hotel you check into is supposed to be a safe place like home to enjoy a drink or two. The management offered to refund the first bill of 52.18. But I told him I just wanted what I was over charged refunded plus my tips. At this point I feel she had the chance to correct my bill and make things right but she chose to make me feel like I was in the wrong. After the manager added my first bill up after I told him what I had ordered it turns out she charged 4 beers the first time and not just my 3 and way over charged me the second time. This is a great place to stay but keep an eye on what you order. More so late at night. Also my hot wings were cold in the center but I didn't even mention it to her at the time. Before I could even ask, he let me know there were no suite upgrades available but offered me a King Premium and got me checked in on the spot. As a solo traveler who had just made that drive, being able to walk straight to a room and crash was everything. He took a few minutes to catch me up on what had changed since my last stay; the breakfast situation being the highlight of that conversation, which turned out to be... relevant. The next morning, after a rough experience at breakfast, I mentioned something at the front desk and Donna, the front-end manager, stepped in immediately, not defensively, but genuinely wanting to understand what happened and make it right. That kind of accountability is rare. Saturday night brought a similar hiccup at the bar, and Sayan handled it the same way: professionally, without hesitation. The room was exactly what I've come to expect from Kimpton, clean, comfortable, and well-appointed. But the real story here is the staff outside the restaurant. Dylan, Donna, Sayan, these are hospitality professionals who actually care, and it shows. The hotel itself earns every star.

It turns out that two of the three swipes went through, so he was charged twice. One was released upon check-out, like normal. One was not. We have since called about the second charge still being active and a posted charge, and their response was that Expedia never paid them for the nightly rate, so they're going to keep the second incidentals charge. I have provided proof of the posted expedia charge, expedia has confirmed they paid the hotel for this stay, and they refuse to listen or acknowledge any of it. On top of that, we got a parking ticket from the city of glendale for not paying for parking, even though we paid the hotel directly a separate $18 fee for parking!
