My surgeon told me I needed to stretch but I wasn't sure what that meant or how to do it. I'm so happy I found Nic. He took time to evaluate my conditions (which included posture problems from sitting at a desk my whole life) and he put together a very smart and thorough plan. He started me with simple exercises to build muscle and confidence. As I progressed he continually revised and gave me new exercises which built upon the previous. After a few months I was doing so much better. I saw Nic for about 9 months for bi-weekly visits where he would check my form and push me further. Two years later I continue to do my "leg exercises" daily and when I go to Target I stomp through that store like a super model with someplace to be other than Target. Thank you Nic. Found out about this new studio through the yoga grapevine (or should I say rope wall?) and headed out to the Coachella Valley to check it out. My husband and I felt instantly calm as we walked into the warm and spacious practice room, taking note of all the nice, new props, the full-length rope wall, and the cushy floors (cork, not hardwood!). Not knowing what to expect from a class titled ''Exploration of the Rope Wall,' led by two up-and-coming Iyengar instructors--Holly Hughins and Mary DeVore--we were taught ten or so variations of the traditional poses, using the wall and ropes to get even deeper into the postures. This was a free public class, but looking at the price list it looks like the drop-in and monthly rates are totally reasonable, especially for instruction from respected Iyengar and Ashtanga practitioners. There's plenty of parking in the shopping center behind Hwy 111 and they have a nice little patio in the back. Next time we trek east for some R&R we're totally making a pit stop here for our yoga fix. Can't wait till they get their website up and running and post some more workshops!

The place is pristine (clean) and modern, parking is abundant, booking is a breeze, and the consistency of your workouts will make them no less challenging. The fact that the owner, Richard, is A STRAIGHT UP CHIROPRACTOR, provides me with the supreme confidence that they LITERALLY "have my back." Paula has a thorough knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the musculoskeletal system. Which is critical - The last thing I want to do is train wrong and do more damage. Initially, I began training with Paula because of a rotator cuff injury. Paula 's knowledge of anatomy and how the body builds and heals muscles is above and beyond what I expected. ( Experienced she gained from Dental School) I no longer have any issues with my shoulder and still, train with Paula three days a week. Both inside and outside of her studio. Every session with Paula is different, working different parts of the body in the most innovative and fun workouts ever. Yes, they are fun, but also intense, I often have a pleasant soreness after our workouts, but have never been injured from pushing myself hard. Her methods involve weights, stretches, yoga, a little bit of everything, they are very effective. She allows me to push myself further than I would typically my gains have been impressive. Especially when old friends I haven't seen in a long while notice. Recently I attended a "Bootcamp" type training session at another gym just for fun, but without Paula and Karissa's watchful eye and guidance on correct form (her mantra) I injured my knee :-( Mea culpa, won't do that again! Go now while you can still get in! They are THAT good! Most importantly her gym is spotless and has most everything needed for training. It is easy to get to and has plenty of parking. I really liked the personal space/attention. It is nothing like a big gym with all the noise and tons of people. Every move was thoroughly explained and I felt supported with modifications for my "tennis elbow." This was my first introduction to Pilates and I'm hooked! I was sore afterwards but I felt stronger and as if there was more space in my core - I probably grew an inch! :) We had our class in the privacy of our HOA clubhouse and Dylan was available to come to my home as well. I had an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience with this location…read more I was injured during my first assisted stretching session. The following morning, I experienced significant groin and pelvic pain that was later confirmed with imaging as a pelvic fracture along with a left adductor strain, both requiring medical treatment. I have since been advised by my physician to discontinue assisted stretching entirely. Because of this, I was unable to continue services and requested a partial refund for the unused portion of my membership as a reasonable resolution. Instead of addressing this, I was repeatedly offered alternatives such as transferring the membership to my husband or extending it for future use. My husband is not comfortable participating given my experience, and I am medically unable to use these services going forward. I made multiple attempts to resolve this directly, but received no response from management before leaving the country. I am very disappointed by the lack of communication and follow-up. Being ignored in a situation involving a documented injury is not acceptable and reflects a lack of professionalism. I also contacted corporate, who confirmed the issue was escalated to the studio owner. As of now, the matter remains unresolved. I still hope the business will take responsibility and work toward a fair resolution.
