Arriving at the beautiful Embrace Calistoga! A very warm welcome!

I was gifted a stay at Embrace Calistoga. My friends chose Embrace because they thought I'd love Chris & Brent and the beautiful patio that wraps the house. They were right! I put together a 40th birthday party for my cousin, and we all stayed there. It felt like our very own home. The amenities, decor, and sweet touches were perfect! Chris was very attentive and fun to chat with. The 5:00 selection of wine and cheeses was delicious, as was the conversation with Chris! If you're looking for a beautiful, well-appointed, cozy, charming B&B in Calistoga, Embrace Calistoga is the one! Thank you, Chris & Brent. We will be back!!

There are angels in the world, and two of them operate a slice of heaven that is Embrace. Chris and Brent, the proprietors of Embrace, pay attention to every detail. Our room, while snug, was well-appointed and comfortable. The wine and cheese service and the breakfast were exceptional, artisanal, and memorable. The best part was the warmth and passion Chris and Brent exude, which makes Embrace a special, familiar, and homey place. We especially appreciated the personal touches and service they added.

See if the room with the private entrance is available. It has its own outdoor seating area and the room is very comfortable.

We enjoyed three wonderful nights at Embrace Calistoga! Chris & Brent run this inn and did a marvelous job of making us feel very comfortable our entire time in Calistoga. The building is in great shape, well-maintained and has lots of space to sit back and enjoy yourselves... from the cozy living room to the expansive wraparound porch on the front of the property. The evening happy hour with tasty wine options and a tasty charcuterie plate is a nice way to relax before heading out to dinner. We look forward to staying here again!

The evening wine/charcuterie and great location were unfortunately overshadowed by an unsettling experience at the Embrace. This is the first negative review I have ever written, but am still upset and hoping the owners take action for future guests. We stayed in the 1st floor King room - I was shocked to see a large clear skylight above the bathroom / shower with a camera tilted down..... There is ZERO reason a camera should be above a skylight overlooking a bathroom. (There is a window to the right of that, out of which someone could also look down into the bathroom). They later sent a screenshot showing that the camera was turned off, at least for that moment. They said it was to look over the roofline a block away onto a parking area - but we looked outside, and the camera placement made no sense. Their reaction felt dismissive and unapologetic. I would have appreciated them conveying their regrets about how uncomfortable we were - and that they would install smoked glass, or at minimum remove that camera immediately. Privacy is not optional, it's fundamental. They are also supposed to disclose on their website that they use security cameras.

We had a truly impressive stay here. As all the other reviews have stated Chris and Brent are what makes this place special and unique. As owners operators you can definitely notice the attention to detail. Particularly in the wine and cheese hour and breakfast service. The breakfast is a real three course meal that uses well thought out ingredients like Nueske bacon and seasonal produce. They also provide French press coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice. Some other highlights were the location is right in downtown Calistoga. You can easily walk to many tasting rooms and restaurants. There is a private parking lot as well as ample street parking. All rooms are fairly private without any rooms being above and below the other. Daily housekeeping is provided. You also can choose to interact with other guests as much and as little as you please. If you want to experience hospitality at its finest I would highly recommend a stay.

Brent & Chris are the perfect hosts at this beautiful B&B. Our breakfasts were amazing!! Wine tasting, shopping, exploring the Napa Valley, sitting on the porch to people watch, lounging in front of the fireplace with a good book. We did it all! And ended each evening enjoying wine and cheese while visiting with the other guest and making new friends. Thank you Brent & Chris for making my birthday celebration so special

The beautiful, relaxing wrap around porch

Embrace Calistoga is our go-to place to stay in historic Calistoga. The property itself is historic with a wonderful wrap around front porch, which is perfect for relaxation any time of the day. Breakfast is lovingly created and beautifully presented with the freshest ingredients and the perfect way to start your day in wine country. The charcuterie and wine on the porch in late afternoon is a great way to relax before heading out for dinner. Chris and Brent are exceptional hosts and strive to make your stay unforgettable. They spend a great deal of time getting to know their guests and go above and beyond to provide excellent customer service. We have already booked our room for our next trip. The charm and the hospitality of the hosts and the beauty of the inn keep us coming back year after year. Embrace Calistoga is a must when you visit wine country!

Brent and Chris. That's all you need to know. Those names ARE this place. They are probably the kindest most detailed oriented, loving people my wife and I have ever met while on vacations. In this case, we were on week two of our honeymoon up the coast and really looking for an incredible, relaxing, romantic location. We didn't know that we would meet these two unforgettable men. Problem is, nobody will ever be this hospitable and sweet, so every location from here on out won't live up to the generosity and kindness that they show to everyone. If you happen to be in Calistoga and want to have the best experience with the best laughs, choose Embrace Calistoga. Tell them Michael and Lauren sent you.

The grounds are well kept and the inn is clean, with clear potential to be a truly special place. However, at nearly $700 per night on a weekend, the experience fell well short of expectations. The property feels underinvested. The furnishings are dated and worn rather than intentionally antique, and the bathroom is significantly outdated. Towels were also visibly old and frayed. The biggest issue was the bed. It was extremely uncomfortable--more like old, degraded foam than a supportive mattress--and made sleep difficult, with noticeable motion transfer even with a partner. We pulled back the bedding and found an old foam topper over a worn, stained mattress. Using a photo of the manufacturer's label, we determined the mattress was manufactured in September 1996 and likely purchased at Square Deal Mattress Factory in Chico, CA. If accurate, that would make the mattress over 30 years old, which is far beyond any reasonable replacement cycle for a hospitality property at this price point. Breakfast was also disappointing--limited, mostly store-bought items such as stale croissants, basic English muffins, and very weak coffee with minimal quality or attention to detail. In summary, Cottage Grove Inn has a beautiful setting, clean rooms, and excellent staff, but the lack of investment in core comfort elements--especially beds, bathrooms, and furnishings--makes the value difficult to justify. I would not return at the current price level without significant updates.

I sat down on the toilet and my knees were bumping against the bathroom door. Pool size was not fit for the amount of guests the property can accommodate and looks twice as big in the photos. -No sound isolation whatsoever. You can hear people sneeze/talk/get changed in the rooms next to yours, no sense of privacy whatsoever. To add to this disaster, each room is operated by a PIN code rather than a key. In our case, rather than showing or handing us the PIN, the host just said the PIN out loud for us to try out from the hallway - the implication being that other people probably heard it and our room was essentially unlocked for everybody. I had more privacy when I lived in student halls at uni than at this ''luxury'' chateau. -I had a query about our reservation where we initially wanted to stay an extra night at the property, however, it was near impossible to get hold of the property - 3 contact numbers, 2 email addresses and Booking messaging system later, we finally received a 1-sentence response via Booking messenger with the property completely misunderstanding our request and providing the wrong advice which completely paralysed our options when it came to our time in Napa valley. Their attempt to remedy the situation was a bottle of wine - which we explained we're unlikely to be able to accept as we're due to catch a flight back and our luggage was already full. Some things that were weird/problematic/good to know: - The included breakfast isn't like an old school B&B where you go downstairs for breakfast, it's vouchers for Calistoga Roastery. Which is within easy walking distance and has good food/coffee/tea, so it's a fine option for "complimentary breakfast", just not what I was expecting. And hot tip: the vouchers say "brewed coffee or tea and one breakfast entree" but when I got there, they were like "anything you want up to $13" so if you want an espresso and smoothie, that's fine! - There is no reception desk or host/staff onsite. You check in online (which I only partially completed because they wanted credit card details, but I had paid through a third party site when making the reservation and there was nothing explaining that my card would not be charged) then they leave keys for you at the Inn. Again it was fine, just not what I was expecting. - The room I was in didn't have a door for the bathroom. Which I'm accustomed to hotel rooms not having the sink or even shower area enclosed, but the toilet is usually behind a door. I sort of feel like this should be mentioned in the description? - The room I was in didn't have enough places to put things down. Because of pedestal sinks in the bathroom, I took up all the available shelf space with my solo toiletries. If my spouse had been there, I'm not sure how we would have worked it out. And because the bed was adjacent to the door to the little balcony space, there was only a nightstand on one side. If my spouse had been there, where would I have put my phone/glasses/book? None of the weird things would stop me from staying there again though, the important stuff (cleanliness, hot water, comfortable bed, secure/safe, nicely decorated/curated decor) was all top notch.

The inn has three rooms with an old-school charm with added touches bringing you back to the eighties. We were provided robes and towels for the hot tub. The hot tub was very warm, it could have been hotter in my opinion. Also, it was a little confusing as to how to turn off. There were all the amenities in the kitchen. We had fresh fruit and home baked muffins for breakfast, and a complimentary bottle of white wine. My bed was a little harder and uncomfortable compared to my friend's bed in the main room that was softer and more comfortable. The properly is beautiful and you can see Sterling Vineyards from the hot tube. Overall, a hidden gem and a perfect spot to stay while I'm Calistoga. We stayed in the Dutch Henry Suite.

Almost walked into the innkeepers front living room we couldn't see the side entrance. The room was nicely appointed and heater was on for us. There was a fresh loaf of banana bread, fruit, cereal milk, etc in the room. Nice touch, but for a longtime bed and breakfast traveller, I really did miss the morning dining room breakfast usually made by the host. . always a great way to get back on the road after a hot meal made by the innkeeper. The location seems incredibly ideal if you are winery- hopping the Napa area. A creek runs right by the backyard, we could hear it running full all night, it was pleasant!
