From the moment we arrived, Brent and Chris made us feel like old friends coming home. The evening wine and cheese hour was such a treat. Local wines, great cheeses, and friendly conversation with other guests created this wonderful sense of community. And breakfast? Out of this world. Perfectly fluffy beignets, a croque madame baked in a delicate crepe, and berries tossed in a spiced wine syrup with cinnamon and star anise. It honestly rivaled any restaurant brunch I've ever had. The big wraparound porch was our favorite spot to relax, whether sipping morning coffee or enjoying a glass of wine at sunset. The location is ideal too, right in downtown Calistoga but still incredibly quiet and peaceful at night. Every detail here feels thoughtful, and every interaction genuine. We stayed in the master bedroom, which featured a firm yet incredibly comfortable king-sized bed and a spacious, beautifully designed bathroom. The large shower and hot tub were a highlight--we used them both and felt completely relaxed and pampered. Even small touches, like the luxurious linens and the in-room amenities (including a lovely robe), showed the attention to detail and comfort that defines Embrace. But what truly sets this inn apart is the genuine hospitality. Each evening, guests are invited to gather on the porch for wine, hors d'oeuvres, and great conversation. Brent and Chris created an atmosphere that felt more like a gathering of friends than a hotel stay. We were lucky to meet fellow guests--some of whom have stayed here 5 to 10 times--and it quickly became clear why: the care, connection, and warmth at Embrace Calistoga are unmatched. My mom and I had an amazing 2-day stay! Was borderline holding back tears when it was time to leave. My king room was very luxurious, and we spent every evening and morning in the sitting area with the fireplace. The wine/snack hour at 5 was delightful. I should mention I am on the introverted side, but Brent is very good at maintaining conversation flow (this is a skill not everyone has). I could not have asked for a better host, very welcoming! This was our first time staying at a Bed and Breakfast, so we didn't really know what to expect. We immediately loved the location as it's in the heart of Calistoga, right on Lincoln Avenue. As soon as we arrived, as we were getting out of our car, we were greeted by name by Chris, one of the two owners. He was so welcoming and friendly! He gave us a quick tour and helped us figure out how to use the Keurig. It was close enough to 5pm, so he whisked us away to the beautiful wrap around porch for the daily wine and cheese social. There we met Brent, his partner, who was equally as charming and funny. They were magnificent hosts throughout our stay! We only wish we had stayed on a weekend so that we could enjoy the luxurious brunch we had seen in photos. However, since we woke up on a weekday, we each received a $25 breakfast voucher to use at one of 3 local eateries. We opted for Bella Bakery on Lincoln. Thanks for the rec, Brent! It did not disappoint and those vouchers were plentiful. I also really appreciated the little details, like the complimentary water, the snack bags for the next day, and the toiletries in our bathroom. We had a truly impressive stay here. As all the other reviews have stated Chris and Brent are what makes this place special and unique. As owners operators you can definitely notice the attention to detail. Particularly in the wine and cheese hour and breakfast service. The breakfast is a real three course meal that uses well thought out ingredients like Nueske bacon and seasonal produce. They also provide French press coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice. Some other highlights were the location is right in downtown Calistoga. You can easily walk to many tasting rooms and restaurants. There is a private parking lot as well as ample street parking. All rooms are fairly private without any rooms being above and below the other. Daily housekeeping is provided. You also can choose to interact with other guests as much and as little as you please. The evening wine/charcuterie and great location were unfortunately overshadowed by an unsettling experience at the Embrace. This is the first negative review I have ever written, but am still upset and hoping the owners take action for future guests. We stayed in the 1st floor King room - I was shocked to see a large clear skylight above the bathroom / shower with a camera tilted down..... There is ZERO reason a camera should be above a skylight overlooking a bathroom. (There is a window to the right of that, out of which someone could also look down into the bathroom). They later sent a screenshot showing that the camera was turned off, at least for that moment. They said it was to look over the roofline a block away onto a parking area - but we looked outside, and the camera placement made no sense. Their reaction felt dismissive and unapologetic. I would have appreciated them conveying their regrets about how uncomfortable we were - and that they would install smoked glass, or at minimum remove that camera immediately. Privacy is not optional, it's fundamental. They are also supposed to disclose on their website that they use security cameras. read more

Fast forward 6 years, and hubby and I wanted a few days to eat, drink, shop, and relax in Wine Country. Of course I checked for availability with Chris and Brent, and the moon and the stars aligned! The inn is a jewel... gorgeous porch is used for the outstanding Wine and Cheese Hour, and Breakfast. Their food and wine far surpasses any I have had at in Inn. We love this Inn/B&B! This was our second visit and our stay was every bit as fabulous as the first. The Inn itself is an 1870s farmhouse-stlye home with wrap around porch; charming and special, and perfectly situated at the end/beginning of Lincoln Ave, the main street of Calistoga. It's upgraded, very comfortable and immediately relaxing. And Calistoga is centrally located for exploring several acclaimed northern California wine regions. But the most special feature of the stay is the graciousness and friendliness of the hosts, Chris, Brent and Maria, who work to make your visit memorable. Gourmet breakfasts prepared with lots of thought and natural culinary talent. Wine and cheese social hour where you meet other guests and sample various reds and whites from local wineries. Upon arrival, Chris ran us through all the safety measured he had put in place (hand sanitizer set up on front porch, distanced/room assigned porch furniture, etc.). "Embrace all that is good" is a sign posted on the porch of the Inn. "Good is all that is Embrace" should be on another sign because this inn is more than an accommodation, it is a destination of goodness and fun. Our trip to CA from FL was planned well in advance and Yelp was our go to for reviews and recommendations and, once again, Yelpers did not disappoint! First, the inn is immaculate and in great condition. And that's not an easy task with a revolving door of guests. Chris, the on site half of the innkeeper couple, is the glue that binds the fun, food and freshness to your stay. From the moment you arrive, Chris makes you feel at home. Introductions to fellow guests at breakfast and the evening wine and cheese is a spark for interesting conversations and shared travel experiences. The wide, wrap around porch is Chris' stage. His good-hearted nature and humor is an ice breaker (Please ask Chris to explain "tits to the wind"). Many of our fellow guests had multiple repeat stays at Embrace and they come from throughout the US. That stands as a true testament to Embrace. Dine on gourmet breakfasts that you'll vow to try to make at home but you never will. You'll want to make it back from your day to enjoy an evening wine and cheese reception on the big porch. This place is first class from the time you check in until you leave. The porch is lovely and was cozy with heaters since it was a bit chilly and drizzly. Wine and cheese happy hour each night was a delight. Chris and Brent and Flo were so warm and welcoming. The room we stayed in was comfortable with beautiful linens and bathe robes. Chris is extremely talented and it's quite obvious how much care he takes in all aspects of his business. But breakfast especially is a labor of love. The room. Gorgeous. Nice sheets, towels and bath products. Calistoga is such a beautiful town, one which I'm sure will become busier now with the new Four Seasons Calistoga nearby. There's something magical about waking up to the mist covering the top of the nearby hills and walking the short distance to downtown in the crisp morning or evening weather. We ate, at Chris's recommendation, at Lovina, and it was delicious. A few other recommendations.... We had dinner at Market in St. Helena and it was great too!
