The spa is very "mountain-esque" it feels like a ski chalet. My only disappointment was that there is no option to change out of your street clothes. I sat waiting in the lounge in my jeans and it just didn't feel relaxing. I also asked if there was a steam room and was told no, but then saw one? That must be for special treatments I guess. The lounge is cozy with magazines, tea and water but I think this could be upped by offering some cookies to snack on and add robes to the mix! Side note: if you have trouble with stairs you may want to avoid this place. Negatives aside... I had the greatest massage from a therapist named Ellen. If you book a massage here I highly recommend her. She is attentive and gives one of the best massages I have ever had. Every time I go to Canmore I will make a point of booking with her. So great! I do imagine the rooms is strange when you aren't in a couple's massage as there is just a curtain between you and someone else unless i'm missing something else about the room to add privacy. The massage was very eclectic - there was a mix of regular massages, use of hot rocks at times and some shiatsu. A mixture that was quite nice and yet I've never had in combo before. Over all we quite enjoyed our time there and I might have made my spa newbie fiance a bit more high maintenance... heh.

BUT what sets this one apart is how their shampoo and conditioner bars make my hair feel. I was using Kitsch... Rocky's is 100x better. (IMO) It doesn't get super "lather-y" but it does get slippery so that you can easily apply it to your hair. And the results.... amazing (for me). I often... and usually air dry my hair. I have naturally curly hair which easily "frays" and "frizzles" if I don't put product in it. With Rocky's product... my hair has this amazing shine and NO frizz/frays. And my hair curls into ringlets like it used to when I was a child... just by air drying it. After my shower, I gently towel dry my hair, run a wide comb through it.. and then letting it air dry. Amazing!
