Tucked in the side of LA Fitness is an Emerald City Smoothie. My friend was having an off day and wanted one of their signature smoothies. I thought no biggie, I will pop in and buy what he wanted and then leave. I know the LA Fitness in the Landing. It is impossible to miss. As I entered I was surprised that no one was at the reception desk. I figured since LA Fitness is a membership gym they would want to verify if someone has membership when entering but no one was there. Behind the circular desk there were a few other workstations. There was a gentleman at one of these computers who just silently stared at me as I wandered to find Emerald City Smoothie. He didn't move, smile, nothing. His eyes just followed me. Kinda feeling odd by this point I saw the Emerald City Smoothie to the left tucked in. You can't see it when stepping into the space and the one sign is on one wall eye level. But I guess they don't really need to advertise. One young woman was alone cranking out smoothies. She was diligent in her job treating her smoothies like someone on an assembly line. She spoke little and moved fast. There were a few people in front of me and each was served quickly with no commentary. Made me wonder if they should just install a kiosk where customers could put in their orders and she could just make them with no interaction. I left much as I entered, being stared at as I walked away. I don't think I will be back. It was weird. read more

I love this Emerald City Smoothie because it's located in my gym! Staff are friendly and very nice my favorite employee is Ray she is so beautiful nice and polite. She has great customer service skills and deff makes my day when I stop and get a smoothie! Very clean and neat this smoothie stand has an excellent rating with the health department. read more

Girls think there hot sht & are worried about how they look than good customer service . Was not helpful at all and gave dirty looks . Specially blonde girl working there . I'm very disappointed . Looking like that and act like that is wild . Get a grip . have good customer service or hand ur job off to someone else . There was no need for that kind of behavior AT ALL. 1-What they advertise online, and what they offer in person are different. My sister wanted a berry crunch bowl and they straight up told my husband they don't offer that. They told him that if he didn't know what he was ordering, to please step aside. It's just annoying because it wasn't even his fault for ordering something on their menu. Maybe the website developer should remove items from the website depending on the location, to prevent further confusion. 2-Though I was hoping otherwise, as others said, the smoothies are overly sweet. Something tastes off.. like there's some kind of sweetener or syrup. It just doesn't taste fresh or refreshing-- overly ripe, is what comes to mind. read more

Great experience with the gal working there. I couldn't use the whey protein due to dairy allergy , so she suggested the vegan powder and helped to add stuff to the drink to mask the earthy taste. Once she was done making it, she made sure I liked it or she would make it again! I appreciated that a lot , but actually enjoyed it and got one for a friend that loved it as well! Ive had good peanut butter smoothies here. But the last one they used too much banana syrup make sure to let the perso n workink here know how you like your smoothie. Also too many loser muscle heads trying to hit on the girl if she's cute so it takes longer ato get ypur order because there's too much yapping going on instead of just simply ordering getting your smoothie and going on your way. I'm giving three stars because I have gotten some good smoothies at this location. But they do need a better system on making smoothies quickly and getting your order in faster PS. I hope the owner of this location leave this review and starts making some improvements especially on timeliness of your order and getting your smoothie, and of course making sure your servers don't use too much syrup syrup. For example I would like more peanut butter than banana syrup in my peanut butter whey protein smoothies and of course more real banana and real fruit then syrup. read more

Fruits they used aren't fresh. Pineapple chunks for instance are the triangle cut that are found in BPA metal cans and with concentrated and pasteurized juice. Apple juice as well. I know what real 100% juice taste like. And for sure this one isn't. PS. The manager needs to update his training in customer service (e.g. How he speaks without any condescending comebacks) if you work in a customer service industry, the customers need to be 100% satisfied! The juice I ordered came with the Immunity Powder mix and it's not vegan. I said I don't drink cow's milk. So she suggested the vegan powder. Came back and requested if they can remake my drink without the powder which I don't normally put in my smoothies, well except for L-glutamine, acidophilus, and Lipoic Acid supplements. He said if you put a powder in the smoothie it will have a powder taste. (ok) I said I am aware of that. Then he resumed saying it taste vegan. (Now this made me laugh) what does vegan taste like? Haha.) and he continues on saying if you buy a car with a stick shift you don't return it to the dealer. Ha? He must be moonlighting as a comedian, a horrible one. First of all we are not in a car dealership, it's only a smoothie. That was a horrible analogy. Because you research a car first before you buy one and make sure you have what you want. Workers here are never up front, so you pretty much have to holler to get their attention. I mean how hard can it be to make a smoothie that has a very specific recipe? Workers are constantly making mistakes! I've even had them unaware what certain berries were, that go in to your smoothie. Only reason that this location isn't a 1 star is because you're still getting a smoothie in the end. read more

Oh, ECS, why I have only started coming here is beyond me. Yesterday, I decided to push it and do my p90x workout AND try out a Zumba class. My bf wanted me to bring him a smoothie home after the 2nd workout (gooooooooood idea!) so I was calling around to see which locations from the Federal Way area up to Renton were open the latest. Well... nobody I called won. They all lost with 7:00... my class didn't get out until 7:15. Finally, I remembered that the ECS @LAFitness was open fairly late, so I called the gym to see what time they closed. 9:30. 9:30!!! Hooray! Sweet. Sweat & smoothies tonight!! The girls there are friendly and there isn't usually a line, like I've experienced at some other locations. I'll be back. Especially since I reactivated my gym membership. read more

This place has definitely stepped up their game. Candy, is usually the girl working when I pass through and generally is working the busiest shift. She's always got both blenders going, multi tasking and getting the next order prepped. Best part of it all is she's doing it with a smile. The other gals working are just as amazing. Great location. Convenient to work. POS System slower than molasses. So, me and a couple work ladies typically walk over on our break at work to get a healthy smoothie instead of lunch. The girls are super friendly at this location. They used to know us by name, but then that girl left (sadface!). Never a problem at this ECS. Just fix your slow POS System, please. Not happy. One of the employees said they haven't had a lunch break since she started. She said they can only take breaks when it's slow. It's the law to give a 30 minute lunch break when employee wants to take it at least once every 8 hour shift. Common sense! read more

Always looking for emerald city smoothies. Used to be a bunch by my house but now just this one is nearby. Friendly service and the smoothies are always good. Prefer these over Jamba. Less sugar less added stuff and more of good fresh ingredients. Would give it a 5 out of 5 but sometimes they run out of ingredients. read more
