After having…read moretaken a couple Lagree classes with some friends at a different studio, I definitely got my butt kicked, but loved how my whole body was sore for days following the class. Then I saw The Box opened near my house and decided to give it a shot. I couldn't be happier that I found this studio. It's super cute, super clean, super welcoming, and the classes always leave me sweaty and shaking (it also smells incredible and they have turned me on to Ouai products!) As such a beginner, there are plenty of people in my classes with way more experience, but the teachers never make me feel awkward, uncomfortable, or less than. All the instructors and front desk staff know my name and welcome me in each week. This includes the owner, Maureen, who is an amazing hype woman that provides incredible customer service. In addition to the megareformer classes I take, they have other class options like Mat Pilates, and are always hosting special pop ups and collaborations. I am over 20 classes in and look forward to going each week. Couldn't recommend The Box more!

In addition to Megaformer and mat Lagree classes, The Box also offers mat Pilates and yoga. I took my first Megaformer class with Maureen, the owner of the studio. I really appreciate the pace of her class, and she is such a sweet person! Whenever she's in the studio, she takes the time to chat with everyone and check in on how we're doing, which I love. I've found myself drawn to Ella's mat Pilates class, especially after taking two Megaformer classes that I need to improve my core strength. I appreciate the cues and modifications she shares during class, as they help me adjust to my current fitness level. I've also been loving Kendall's Megaformer classes. So far, I really enjoy her playlists, and even though her classes are challenging, they make me want to come back and improve. As for the overall vibe of the studio, I've found it to be very welcoming to people from all different fitness backgrounds. I appreciate that there's no pressure to be competitive, you can truly "come as you are." It's exactly what I need in my life, and I'm so grateful to have The Box in the neighborhood. Notably, Ki, the other instructor, actively participated alongside us while Bob provided hands-on assistance. What set Bob's class apart was his skill in guiding me to explore deeper into my poses. He offered cues, encouraging adjustments, and moments to reassess, allowing me to find new depths in my practice. They do offer a mat, a block, and a (yoga) ball that you can borrow (maybe they have other things as well that I didn't look for). I don't notice any shower for students though. For the parking situation, there are a plenty of street parking on NE 112th St (probably around 10). Plus they also have a few cats that might pop up to greet you!
