Decided to get lunch here as we had a long wait at the airport for our flights. This is a typical bar type restaurants and one of the few options in the Destin airport. One things that's nice is they have two separate sides of the restaurant depending on if you have gone through security or not. They menu has the typical offerings. They don't have a kids menu which is kinda crazy to me, but they did have a high chair at least. My husband ordered the fried chicken sandwich which he said was good. I had the chicken quesadilla. It was a little pricey at $17.50 but it done come with chips and prepackaged salsa which makes it a bit more worth it. The quesadilla wasn't very flavorful but I had to get it without peppers and onions as I had to share it with my daughter due to the lack of kids meal. It was loaded up with chicken though and I was stuffed from it. The service was fine. The food took a bit to come out but we were trying to kill time at the airport so I didn't mind. Overall, nothing amazing but this was a solid spot to get food at the airport. read more

This was a small restaurant inside the airport. We had lunch here right after landing in town. They weren't very busy but service was pretty slow. We waited almost an hour for all of our food and had to get up walk to the bar to ask for refills. When the food did come though it was very good. I had a salad with grilled chicken. We got the Bacon and cheese fries for an app. Crunchy, crispy fries, bacon, and a Jalapeño cheese on top, a very good app, hit the spot! I did a build my own burger, with Pepper Jack cheese, sautéed onions, bacon, and covered it in Ranch. Took 45 minutes to get our drinks and never got a refill. The appetizers were ice cold and our entrees came out an hour later and they were cold as well. Poor service and food quality. Located where Helen Back used to be. Like most airport bars the prices are a bit high, but you are paying for the convenient location. About 6 beers on tap, one of which was Lagunitas IPA, and a full bar. I had the mushroom burger and it was pretty good. It didn't say so on the menu but the burgers come with fries. Filthy and disgusting! I called the manages attention to dried crusted food on their bar and she said oh that's clean and "normal". I just showed the manager the following picture, asked her how she felt about it, and she said that the turn style was clean and that they clean it every night. I responded that it appears it hasn't been cleaned in quite a while. I then posted my review on Yelp and she came over and asked if I was the one who just posted the review and I said yes. She responded, there are other places in the airport I can sit, asked me to pay my bill be on my way and to leave the restaurant. To be perfectly honest, they need more food options in this airport. This was the only sit down place that I found. The rest were fast food store or snacks only. The restaurant is cool that it's half inside the terminal and half outside, although sometimes I wonder why they do that. Is it that good that people that aren't going there for a flight would actually eat at that restaurant? When we went that morning, it was super packed which usually it isn't (second time eating here). 3 girls on deck and hustling to get all the orders in and deliver them to customers on time. I will admit they are really working hard! When the restaurant got quieter because most of the people left, I felt like there was still a lack of customer service. I really had to try to grab someone's attention to get something. I could understand if you're busy so you're running around and doing things. But when everyone leaves shouldn't you go back to the customers that are still left and take care of them since it's slowed down? I felt like they were so busy trying to clean tables and glasses and taking out garbage that they forgot that they still had customers to take care of. Or at least check back with us every now and then to ask how we're doing. IDK I feel like I would try another restaurant but unfortunately there's only one at the airport. I understand in these current times there are staffing issues and slower service can be expected, but this was next level. The 'Turkey' is literally deli meat cut up, and the tomatoes were old, soggy, and bitter tasting. My sister ordered a quesadilla and the salsa was served in a pre packaged cup of standard salsa- nothing impressive and certainly not fresh. Funny - the table next to us sat down 10 min after us got and finished their meal before we got ours. When we asked why the delay there was no good reason given or offer to comp all or part of meal. In the end my wife had to leave before finishing her meal so she did not miss her flight. To add insult to injury i gave them my MC and they charged an AMEX I had used previously - the waitress was unable to back that out and could not explain why they were storing my credit card info. I'm embarrassed that I let myself get conned into dining here. When you see "sand which" on the menu...Not a typical restaurant sandwich with like a bun or Ciabatta bread. It is white bread, from a loaf. I ordered the "ham and cheese sandwich" and it was exactly what you would get from a gas station in a plastic cartridge or something the cafeteria lady would slap together in elementary school.
