Ive never in my life written a review before but when a burger joint gets $78 of my share of wallet for serving 2 people I am compelled. Thought the overall design, aesthetics, and setup were 10/10. Super COOL idea. Will say the restaurant was empty on a Friday at noon which I thought was odd, especially being so close to the beach traffic. Several people working in the restaurant noticed us but did not greet or direct us to get seated initially. LUV YALL but dang the waffle fries were undercooked and loaded with seasoning. Underwhelmed by the quality/size of burgers for a sit down restaurant. Hardies, Wendys, McDonalds even, has better chicken sandwiches. THE WINGS WERE DELICIOUS! Asked for a side salad with ranch and got a Waldorf salad instead. Waldorf salad was delicious though 10/10! I think the restaurant would benefit from some fly fans. There is it! Amazing place to come. We came twice in two days. Once with the fam, ten of us, and they served very quickly. Austin was our server that evening. The food, you can't beat it. From the burgers to the salad, omg, yummy. We also had live music both times. Our server the second time was Kevin when we sat at the bar. He was also wonderful. Very cool little spot across the street from a beach access. Solid burgers, decent wings, and cold drinks. Our friendly server had a connection to our hometown and we enjoyed chatting with him. Our only proactive feedback is to remove the plastic liners when patrons want to enjoy the patio. It was very stuffy/hot on the patio with the liners up. read more

First night of vacation and stopped in for easy meal. Nice outdoor seating but thankful for breeze. Honestly burger portions were small - more like a small smash burger. For the cost I would expect more. Wife had gluten free bun which I tried and it was really poor. Stale and brittle. We all had different burgers but nobody was enamored with their choice. I had the burger with tomato jam which I felt tasted like a 90s McDonald's. Only positive was the cocktails were good. Not greatest start but I know there are many good eateries in 30A. read more

We ordered our food to go because it was a hot day and the only available seating at lunch was outdoors. Unfortunately, the food was pretty mediocre. One of the burgers was missing the BBQ sauce, making it very dry. The Steakhouse Burger was also dry and lacking flavor.  The waffle fries were the highlight of the meal and easily the best part which was unfortunate as we were looking forward to some good burgers. read more

Wings are 5s. Buffalo and lemon pepper. Some of the best wings I've ever tasted. Super crispy, hot, fall off the bone. Yum. The mahi sandwich was not great. Flavorless brick od fish between two buns. Fries were awesome. read more

I like this place. Been here twice now. The food is really good for a burger shop. The blackened mahi is a generous piece of fish and tasty. Have eaten most of the burgers and loved them all! They are very generous with the waffle fries, which have a great seasoning, and the papas fries with cheese sauce are excellent!! Prices are very reasonable for 30A. read more

Usually love the food, service, and atmosphere. Tonight, from the manager on duty Austin to the staff seating us and our waiter we decided to not even get food and left after just our drinks. We all know it's busy, the attitude, rude remarks, and acting like we are an inconvenience is not okay. Hope you can all rectify the behavior of the staff and it all starts with Austin. Can't find one adult behaving person on the staff tonight. We look forward to coming every year and are wondering why this year was different. read more

Massive waste. There are benches all around the outdoor seating. Zero attempt to keep it clean, bird poop where I tried to sit. We moved tables. Our waitress was very sweet but that's the end of the good part. The pricing is insane for what you get. I got a side salad that was pretty sad. My daughter got an $18 burger that came with maybe 5 fries. The burger was for sure a frozen patty. My son got cheese fries which was basically cheese with fries added - swimming in cheese and mushy. Someone tried to bring us the wrong dish 3 times and the table next to us sat down and he also tried to bring them the wrong food almost immediately after they sat. No one is paying attention at this place and at the same time our server must have come to our table 10 times - she was so nice but clearly no one here has had actual restaurant service training. Papa Surf is good. The prices are normal beach level which is inflated compared to most other places, but it's the beach. The burgers are good, but not huge, and if you want your burger well done, ask for it that way. The fries are great. We went during the afternoon, and their outdoor seating is nice too. read more

Decided to look for a place with a variety of burgers and live music. Introducing Papa Surf. Judging by the parking lot we were not the only people seeking what Papa Surf was offering. Thanks Mike our waiter for aiding us in our decisions. Any burger with pimento cheese is gonna get an opportunity, it did not disappoint. Sweet potato waffle fries, need I say more? If you're looking to waste an hour of your life while being lied to and treated rudely, this is the place for you. The staff was completely clueless and clearly untrained. We were told one thing about seating, then another, and eventually realized they had been lying to us the entire time. After being strung along and assured we'd be seated soon, we ended up waiting over an hour and were never seated at all. No explanation, no apology, just excuses. The manager somehow managed to be even worse -- consistently rude, dismissive, and uninterested in fixing the situation. Instead of taking responsibility, they doubled down on the attitude, making it very clear that customer service is not a priority here. Mistakes are understandable. Dishonesty, incompetence, and rude management are not. Save yourself the frustration and go literally anywhere else. read more

The atmosphere on the deck is very relaxed as the bar is literally built around a tree and the lighting makes for a cool vibe. We had already eaten apps earlier so we weren't looking to order much so we went with Lemon Pepper Wings that were lightly breaded and perfectly cooked. Our only knock on the place is the wait staff uses those hand held machines so unless you ask you never get to see the bill. These have become more common and the staff definitely seem to like using them because customers can't review their bill and not sure what they've been charged for; unless they ask. We have chosen to not patronize a business that uses these because there is little transparency. Otherwise the service by Katie was great and the atmosphere and menu are worth trying. read more

After a week of eating out we wanted something casual for an early dinner and decided to eat at Papas. Was a little concerned b/c the yelp ratings aren't great. I would say the average rating was about right. Service was good and they were not crowded. Started off with the cheese curds which were good. Son had 2 different wings and they were very good. 3 of us had the Jam Sesh and it was average at best - not a lot of flavor and a small patty that likely was frozen before it was cooked. Definitely not worth $18 for the burger. I will say their new beer battered waffle fries were excellent. For the cost we probably will not go back. read more

Popped in for lunch after arriving to 30A. It was mostly empty so we figured we'd have quick excellent service. The drink menu had 4-5 cocktails and a selection of beer and wines. I tried to get an Aperol Spritz- which is not a fancy cocktail but they didn't have it. Then I asked for a gin mule and they couldn't make one. So I skipped the cocktails. My husband had the costal cooler and we had a few sips and that was it. I got the beach cowboy and asked for sauce on the side but got a side of sauce in addition to the sauce on the burger. It's a good sauce so I was fine with it. My fries however were cold. Not warm but cold. Also the burger was supposed to have pickles on it and they didn't have any. Our waitress seemed a bit discombobulated after asking for drinks so I just let it go. It is a super cute place. Would I go back, meh prob not. read more

Our server was really nice but super pushy. We had just sat down and needed a min. He came back in less than 10 mins. If you have kids, you know how undecided they could be. We finally placed our order and it took a little while but we sat outside and it was a beautiful day. Our food finally came out and it was all cold. My butcher wasn't hot or fries. We were a party of 7 and our food was lukewarm. Everyone was as so hungry and it too long enough that we didn't send it back. If i could give this more than 5 stars, I WOULD! Service was beyond great! Our server, Kevin, was amazing and put us on to lemon pepper wings with ranch and tajin! It was so yummy I can't stop thinking about it. The burger I had was UH-MAZ-ING. There wasn't many seats inside as they were busy but made accommodations for us outside. I think it's silly to rate this restaurant poorly because of the price of seafood as did a previous reviewer. We loved this place! We went with our 3.5 and 2 year old and the staff was so friendly and helpful. There was parking next to it which was nice and seat yourself with multiple seating areas. It started to rain and the staff moved us inside quickly and made it work! We ordered the salad with the change up (patty melt) and it was fire! Also got a cocktail during their M-F 4-6pm happy hour. While a previous favorite of ours, we will likely never return. The burgers are still delicious, but almost half the size of what they used to be. The order we received was completely wrong. Even though it belonged to the table next to us, they took it away and both families waited another 30 minutes. They still got the names of the burgers wrong this time, but the orders were correct. Almost walked away with our order again. The sweet potato fries were undercooked to the point of nearly being raw. Two tables down a family was complaining that the burger was frozen in the middle. My husband's sweet potato fries were just a few fries on top of a big pile of burned crumbs. See photo.
