Not only did we find a botched piping job by the original contractor, but he made the mistake of hitting the pipe and a drain while digging (this is a lesson learned). We had no water and no idea how to correct this problem without possibly making it worse. We called Shoreline Monday morning, and a few hours later, plumbers arrived to save us. They had to dig up more concrete, repair the pipe, a drain, and then make it functional for the tub. I was expecting to get hit with a painful bill, but I was relieved and grateful for what they charged us for having come out immediately and fixing our mess. When we didn't immediately agree to get the $25k in work done (who doesn't get a second opinion for that much work?), he informed us that we had to pay extra for a copy of the video!! The rotor and "camera" cost us $749. The next day, I called him asking for a copy of the estimate bc I hadn't received it via email yet. He said that he doesn't give written estimates bc we might use it to get a cheaper quote from someone else!! We didn't use the water at all until we tried flushing once the next day. The backup was back, which wouldn't be too surprising if there was a break. We called a different plumber. He did another rotor and camera for $400. He didn't find a break. He also provided us with a copy of the video and a written estimate if we wanted to replace the cast iron. We watched the video. The pipe is in surprisingly good condition and there is no break. It's unclear what caused the backup. It's been over a month and there has been no further issues. I called Jonathan and asked to see the video showing the break or a refund of only the cost of the camera. He repeatedly *insisted* that he never told us that there was a break and that he only told us to jet the line. No wonder he refused to provide a written estimate. Fortunately, I had the payment receipt which mentioned the break. He then started to discuss not charging us for another camera if we hired him to put in a cutout. I declined and he said that he'd call me back in half an hour. He didn't call back. When i texted him late that evening, he demanded to see the video showing no break. Why does he want the video showing no breaks when he insisted that he never said that there were breaks? Maybe I should have sent it to him, but he had already gaslit me and now he was moving the goalposts. I told him I'd play if for him if he came over, but I wasn't going to email it to him. He refused. I told him that I'd send it if he sent the video showing a break. He didn't respond (this part was over text). I have no evidence that he even did the camera. His rotor job appears to also have also been subpar considering the backup reoccurred so quickly and the pipes are fine now that another plumber rotored them.

I spoke with Brian the owner and explained the issues and situation, he was patient, and respectful, with excellent customer service. Brain scheduled a certain time to send Jim his technician out the same day. GREAT! Jim called thirty minutes before arrival time to let us know that he was on his way. Upon arrival, he introduced himself; I explained as best as I could and showed him our air conditioner. Jim examined the air conditioner and was very explicit with pointing out each detail what the problems were. I could see that it was (TWO MANY). I can confidently say this company met our expectations with their attention to detail and commitment to QUALITY and VALUE. We met Brian the owner in person, who reiterated about the history of the small company he owns, which we had already read. Brian the owner delivered exactly what was promised the same day. The quality, service, VALUE, and the overall experience has made us happy. Not all of us who live on 30A are wealthy, but they are going to take advantage of the area! I should have called around before I had them come out for a service call. $50 trip charge, $160 charge just to find the leak, then they charged me $171 for the first pound of freon and $100 for each additional pound. Other HVAC companies (Odis Brown) in Santa Rosa Beach are charging $80 a pound. So just to find the leak and give me 3 pounds of freon, I was charged $630. The guy was here for one hour. How do I know, because my ring doorbell can prove it. Plus he had to leave and go pick up freon since he forgot it so i'm sure that was added in the price. Additionally, this company quoted me over $2k to replace a coil in my indoor unit, which included a $125 acquisition fee just to get the part that was under warranty. Who charges a fee just to order in a part? THAT REDUCTION RIGHT AWAY IS ALSO IN THE EMAIL. So if you complain, they will reduce the cost but if you don't, you're stuck paying an ACQUISITION FEE to just GET YOUR PART? I asked for their hourly labor rate and how long it would take because it was not broken down on the quote and the response I got back was "As far as the rest we price all our jobs based on flat rate pricing which has labor and materials included for each line item". The parts were already listed as line items on my quote so they clearly do not want to provide me an hourly rate and are full of $hit! Then they added on a wet safety switch to my quote and told me originally that "You don't have to have the wet safety switch but it is highly recommended". When I questioned him again about it through email, Bob stated that "it is required by code to have a secondary drain protection ie the wet safety switch under all air handlers". So first he tells me "I don't have to have it", then he tells me "it's required". So which is it Bob? I INCLUDED SCREEN SHOTS OF MY EMAILS WITH BOB SHOWING HIM CHANGING HIS STORY. Quoted me $210 for a line drier which I found out is necessary when replacing a coil, but when I called around for pricing I was quoted only $75 dollars for that part and the labor to install it was already included. So to conclude, Beachside's labor to replace a coil was over $2k and I got a new quote from Odis Brown for around $700 not including tax. COPY OF QUOTE BEACHSIDE'S ATTACHED. DO NOT RECOMMEND, they are ripping people off and adding on unnecessary parts to get a higher invoice. Oh and the tech will require you to pay immediately upon his departure...they clearly want their money asap.
