Five stars simply for having the tallest, best silver tips available anywhere at this point in time so close to Christmas. It is high in price but these are super rare trees that need EXPENSIVE permits and the permitting process got lots worse and more limiting this year. The second wave of silver tips never came this year. I usually wait around on the sidelines to get them - these trees grow only at 6,000 feet and some years they get snowed in. Still, today if you want a 11+ foot tall tree that is silver tip - I think this is your only option. There is one more on Park St Alameda and another on Solano Ave in I think Albany - but they all have lower inventory of the tallest and nicest and most expensive. The best it just good enough for me when it comes to Christmas trees. This year it has become a careful chess game with the low inventory, the blizzard situations in the mountains and the new more limiting and expensive permitting process. Yes, I lurk around these tree farms and kick tires and take mental notes about what's going on. And I can guarantee if you have a hotel lobby or a beautiful home with vaulted ceilings and you want the tree to go all the way to the ceiling - this is your best bet. read more

They have an excellent selection of trees and decoration. There is plenty of helpful staff. They are friendly, too. They offer delivery service so you don't gave to put the tree on your car roof or wherever. Everything you need is there, and the process is quick. About the only thing I'd improve is the scheduling for delivery. We were promised 1-2:30 because we had some business meetings in the afternoon. After a couple calls the delivery folks showed up at 2:50 -- fortunately his meeting had ended and my 3 o'clock one hadn't started yet so we tag teamed and got the tree up in the living room okay. read more

This is a local small pumpkin patch with an entrance fee of $5. The entrance fee can be applied towards the purchase of a pumpkin, which was nice since I was able to bring a few home. There's a mini train inside, small haunted house, jumpers (you have to pay for the kids to jump), and character cut outs for photo opportunities. We went this past weekend close to opening, so there was still some empty spots in the parking lot. Unfortunately the parking spaces are super tight and limited, so I would actually recommend parking in the neighborhood and making the walk over. I'm plus minus about the entrance fee but do think that it keeps the number of attendees down, which is nice when there are so many children running around. I also like the fee goes towards any pumpkins that you purchase! The patch is quite small, and really not a 'patch' at all.. At least not how I would describe/imagine a 'patch' as most of the pumpkins are in large crates so you're mostly walking around the crates instead of through piles/displays of pumpkins. There are a bunch of kid-friendly activities, but everything is an additional fee, which could add up to quite an expensive visit if your kids are so inclined. Came with my son, his partner, and my little grandchild to get some family pictures. Wonderful pumpkin patch smack dab in the city without having to drive to Half Moon Bay!! There were so many different types of pumpkins in a whole array of colors as well as a mound of watermelons and lots of different gourds. With all this, we got some terrific pictures of the baby sitting among all the different stacks. They also had little rocking horses, hay stacks, and wagons that you can seat your child in for pictures. Great family outing! There was a little train there, but it wasn't operational. There was also a blow-up slide that a lot of the older kids were enjoying and a small haunted house. For $5 per person entry, it was well worth the photo ops *and* you could apply the entry fees to any pumpkin or carving apparatus. We picked a pumpkin in the $15 range and got a carving apparatus, so that balanced out our entry fees. Win-win! read more

Yes, you do have to pay for entrance, but that amount goes toward purchasing pumpkins, which is understandable for a small business trying to survive. Everyone is helpful, the trees are beautiful, and the workers did a fantastic job tying the tree to our car. Super cute pumpkin patch! Great for pictures and kids (and would be even better sans-COVID-19...). Prices on pumpkins seem decent, $5 minimum per person (or entry fee, which is applied to any purchase). Wide variety of colors, types, sizes of pumpkins, and the popular smaller pumpkins are plentiful and in such pristine shape that many look fake. No need to drive far away for your annual pumpkin patch photos. Hay and dried corn stalks are dispersed throughout the floor, pumpkins are nicely laid out throughout, old school red radio flyer wagons or wheelbarrows serve as your shopping cart, and various standstill ride on horses are free for kids to ride on. Also random toys are scattered around, which my toddler loved (and in non-pandemic years, I'd be less "don't touch that!"). Beyond pumpkins, they also sell hay bales ($4 for the small), which I was tempted to buy, and would have bought if I had more hands or had parked in the lot instead of around the corner. Like where to get a good Christmas tree in good shape and priced reasonably. This place was close, so we came here but we made a big mistake, I fear. We're all alone in this city by the bay a little tree suits us just fine, okay. We chose one of the smallest they had sparse, 2.5 feet tall, small but not sad. She quoted us $50! I said no way she said "my mistake, is $40 okay" "Oh, $5 more for the cheap ass stand" We just wanted to leave, our tree was in hand. Feeling ripped off, but we left with our tree but this isn't even the worst of my story. It soon dropped needles, something is wrong. they left it without water for far too long. I know how to keep a Christmas tree alive but this thing was way past its window to thrive. One look at the stand, your heart will sink, You can't just cut a slice to help it drink. I had to hack away and the base of the tree to get it to fit into the stand perfectly All this effort, and to my dread, made no difference, this damn thing is dead. So thanks for one week of a Christmas tree you've made me feel even sadder in this city. $45 gone, pine needles all over my home, happy holidays, I'm going to go cry alone. read more

My husband and I wanted a cute pumpkin patch to bring our cute lil 8 month old pumpkin. We found ourselves here on a sunny Saturday around 5:30pm. We parked on a side street on Sloat, but realized there were also some parking spots right at the entrance of the pumpkin patch as well. I was turned off my the $5 per person entry fee, but after paying we learned that the fee we paid could be used as credit towards any pumpkin purchase. Not shabby at all! There was a table with an assortment of different sized pumpkins that represented the price of each pumpkin in the patch. (Clever menu.) There was a wall of tools/toys you could buy which ranged from carving tools to an American flag sew-on patch. I didn't check prices because we were too busy checking the various photo-op opportunity sections. I liked how organized the patch was with numerous places to take pictures and a variety of settings (a bunch of smaller size pumpkins, a bunch of orange large pumpkins, a bunch of an assortment of sized and colored pumpkins, barrels of oddly shaped pumpkins, etc.) I noticed people were lugging strollers and pushing wheelbarrels as well as 5 "rides" including a train track loop, bouncy house, blow up slide and I forgot what else. Each attraction was about $6 per person which seems pretty expensive to me. We ended up spending about 30 minutes at the patch, got plenty of photos, and left with 5 tiny pumpkins that were priced at $2 each. I would recommend this patch if you are looking for some photo opportunities and want a souvenir as well. We'll likely be back next year since it was well organized, not overly crowded, and a fair entry "fee". read more

If we do not cut down a tree in the sierras, this is my go-to Christmas tree lot because of the variety of trees they carry. The staff in the lot are very helpful and they have an excellent selection of silver tip trees from the higher elevations. The only reason I knock off a star is the trees are cut too early. I feel they are competitive in price for what they offer, but overpriced for trees that have a short life-span and were cut many weeks in advance: Christmas does not begin until December 24th and ends in January. Only crazy people put a tree up after Thanksgiving! Maybe I am old school, but sorry not sorry, I want my tree to last through the Epiphany and these trees are cut way too early. read more

My family and I have bought our Silver Tip Christmas trees here for the last few years because I do not believe there is a bigger or better selection of very tall and full Silver Tip trees (dozens over 10') anywhere in the Bay Area. They also have a great selection of the more common varieties of XMas trees with small and average heights (2'-8'), in addition to things like live wreaths, and tiny reindeer (~2'-3' height) made from cut tree pieces. The owner is hands-on for help/questions, the staff working in the trailer are very nice and friendly, and the workers that help with tree selection are chill and definitely are not pushy/salespeople which is just fine by me. read more

This will be a Christmas tree review. This was my first time buying a tree from this place. After luckily finding a parking spot in the "front", the sweet aroma of pine engulfed my nostrils. The place is small, but there was only a few other groups there; in good spirits though because it was Christmas time. We didn't do that much searching till we found the tree that we desired. The staff were helpful with trimming the bottom of tree, putting a stand on, and finally strapping it to the hood of my car. I tip the guy a few bucks which I don't know is standard or not, but it's something you should do anyways. Checking out was easy, and it only cost a little over $100. When I asked a worker to open up a tree for me, he did, then proceeded to tell me how all the trees are BARE on the bottom! NO WAY, I've been picking out trees before he was born...... We left very disappointed, as this has been our go to place for for YEARS! Fortunately, my husband checked his phone for Christmas trees in the area...YELP helped us find the FRESHEST Christmas tree we've had in years. Green, fresh, no dry bottoms..... We just got our tree on Dec 21, we always get it late so it stays fresh through New Years. The tree is soooooo beautiful and full, we just love it. We've gotten our trees here for the four years we've been in San Francisco, and there's no reason to consider anywhere else for us.
