What a cute little nursery for very charming plants! Even without buying anything, it's a joy to walk through the nursery and admire all the flowers and greenery and enjoy a nice day outdoors. It's located off of Highway 92, and it can be a bit tight with parking. Recommend for plant lovers!

I'm so grateful for my friend who took me to this wonderful nursery, which I may have never discovered otherwise. There are several in a row on the way to HMB and this is one of them. The prices are so reasonable, staff is helpful and friendly and the plants are beautiful. I wasn't planning on getting *another* plant, but then I fell in love with a $7 philodendron. Even the beautiful pots are well priced! This is a one stop shop for all gardening and plant needs. It's a fun place to just walk around and browse too.

Okay, at the risk of alerting everyone to what I feel is one of the Bay Area's best kept secrets, here is my review of Half Moon Bay Nursery! We come here every year for what my husband calls my "birthday shopping spree." We bring the big car, and he does extra push ups to make sure his arms are prepared to push a giant flatbed cart up and down the gravelly rows. We also make sure we are dressed for the cold, as it can get unexpectedly drizzly, windy, and chilly in Half Moon Bay regardless of the season! The staff here are AMAZING. Many of them still wear masks during the flu season, which we really appreciate. The watering staff are always calling out friendly "hellos" as you enter, you will be greeted by beautiful opera music playing over the speakers, and the grounds are littered with gorgeous hummingbirds who follow you around as if to say, "Welcome to our magical home!" For those interested in "just the facts," the nursery is always well stocked with healthy plants, they have an indoor plant greenhouse, potting and gardening supplies, fertilizers, and the most glorious hanging baskets. To top it all off, the prices are absurdly reasonable, and you can drive to beach afterwards! What a paradise!

This is the place to go for plant lovers. They have lots of varieties of plants in a range of price points. There's something for everyone here. The nursery is off of hwy 92 and it's a pretty sharp turn into the parking lot so pay attention as you get closer to the area. I would suggest coming early because the parking lot is on the smaller side. I recently came on a weekend an hour after opening. By the time I left, I could see the traffic of cars coming up hwy 92. It can be overwhelming coming here because there are just so many different varieties of plants... trees, flowers, vegetables, citrus trees, bonsai, succulents, cactus, etc. In addition to plants, they have everything else you might need to keep your plants alive... pots, tools, plant food, books, etc. When checking out, our kids each received a few pumpkin plant. Wish us luck. Maybe we won't need to buy pumpkins come October. P.s. Be sure to wear old shoes because some paths are dusty/muddy.

There are several nurseries in this area, but this was the best we've found. Excellent selection, beautifully arranged, and everything is easy to find. The staff were helpful and friendly. You can ask for help, but I also enjoyed just wandering and seeing what there was to discover. Did anyone else notice, that under many of the flower beds are mossy green brickwork and mini plants? It is so beautiful, and it is clear that the owners and workers really care about this place. The world needs more of Half Moon Bay Nursery.

IMHO In all the years I've been coming to Half Moon Bay, I've never visited this beautiful nursery on Hwy. 92. Finally, on our way home, we stopped in! What a lovely, welcoming place! So colorful, a wide variety of plants, flowers, trees, etc., and some cool nursery cats! I left with a collection of succulents, an air plant, and a small variety of round plastic water pot trays. Will I be back? You bet!

    Sou L.

I absolutely love this nursery. There are so many varieties of house plants, fruit trees, flowers, cacti and succulents to choose from. I can spend all day here. The staff here are friendly. To top it off, there are two beautiful cats just chilling!

This nursery is located in such an idyllic setting with perfect weather, cool sea breeze and mountain backdrop. I loved browsing this nursery so much and can't wait to visit again next year. Had so much fun looking at their gorgeous selection of plants, flowers and trees. Brought home the biggest blooming hydrangeas, pink apricot Begonia, 2 heirloom tomatoes plants and 1 really unique orchid. So pretty! Spent an hour here but easily could gaze at all the different flowers for another hour! If you love begonias and hydrangeas, be sure to come here and choose from many different colors and varieties.

Just a few minutes from the coast, it's the kind of place that makes you slow down the moment you walk in. I went with a very sensible gardening mission: buy lavender plants to attract pollinators for my Meyer lemon and Bearss lime trees. Very practical. Very responsible. Nothing could possibly go wrong. Then I opened the door. The scent of fresh lavender was incredible. Not the artificial fragrance from candles or room sprays, but the real thing. The entire greenhouse smelled like a spa, and my quick errand immediately became a leisurely wander. The shop is beautiful, with healthy plants, gorgeous pottery, garden décor, lavender bath and body products, gifts, and more lavender varieties than I knew existed. I found myself comparing Provence, Phenomenal, Hidcote, French, Spanish, BeeZee Pink, and Burgundy like I was preparing for a horticulture exam. I eventually came home with two gorgeous plants, Provence and Phenomenal. Were they more expensive than the ones I could have picked up at Home Depot? Absolutely. Were they also fuller, healthier, and some of the most beautiful lavender plants I had seen? Also absolutely. The staff stayed quietly in the background, which worked perfectly for me because I didn't need help and could take my time looking around without feeling hovered over. I left with two beautiful lavender plants, a very happy new gardener's heart, and one clear expectation: The bees had better show up now.

Gardeners: shop here!!!!…read more I love garden and nursery shopping. As an avid amateur gardener with yard and deck gardens in San Francisco and a half acre ornamental garden in the northern Coastal Range near Willits, I spend a fair amount of my free time (and dollars) shopping for plants, information, and ideas. I had a wonderful tho brief gardener's buying visit at Yerba Buena on a recent Tuesday afternoon...brief only because it closes at 5pm and I arrived at 430. What made this visit memorable was that the person who "helped" me actually did that...she was helpful!! Also cheerful, enthusiastic, and knowledgable, as well as kind! I was looking for plants to fulfill specific needs in a particular miniclimate, wanted coastal mountain + sun + native if possible + deer resistant + bee-butterfly attractant + low water + clay ...with plants identified in their pots and information to take away re each plant's name and growth habits. I got all of that in 5 varieties, 7 plants in all (talking large maturers here) for a tremendously reasonable cost per plant, with plants that had been grown by the nursery in recycled pots using only green practices, in under 30 minutes. Suffice it to say I will return again with more time to browse! This nursery is in a row of nurseries that feature various plant varieties, like orchids, succulents, cacti, etc. Its sign says "landscape plants" which was exactly what I was hoping to find. The bonus of a sharing gardener who knew every variety available, had suggestions to offer, and could help me locate them quickly was invaluable. Thanks for appreciating my enthusiasm and exactitude, and making my visit to your nursery memorable. I can't wait to get these specimens into the earth!
