I had Martin Ryan clean my carpets several times in the past. On day, I asked him to steam vac the seats of my 4 dining room chairs. A few weeks later, I pulled out one chair - and I saw that he shredded 8 areas on the chair. I don't use my dining room set. He also placed that chair to back up to the window in my dining room - to make sure I wouldn't see it for a while. I spoke to him on the phone - and, of course, he denied it. Our relationship with Martin, the owner and operator of Emerald Isle Restoration & Floor Care began in December of 2022. We had two slab leaks at our old house we retain as a rental. One leak of hot water in the dining room and the other was cold in the kitchen. The issue that prompted Martin's involvement was with the kitchen. Mold was growing on the drywall and under the cabinets from the moisture escaping from the cement slab. Martin and his crew has been great to work with. He is prompt and tackles the issue quickly. He has also been able to work well with the insurance company to move things along with them. This year we had called upon Martin to help with a shower leak at our newer house, which we elected to renovate the bathroom. He has other great skilled workers he can call in at reasonable prices and will work with you as necessary (for instance, we had specific stone and tile we wanted in the shower that we ordered for install). We have also had to revisit the older house for, yet another slab leak (a different section of pipe), and Martin was quickly available to assess the situation and bring his equipment and expertise. This time, we wanted to save the granite countertop that was just purchased in 2023, since we love the pattern. The original installer said it was impossible and wouldn't even attempt to save it. Martin was able to save it with a technique called shoring! Thank you!!! With another stroke of bad luck, we also had a flood from our laundry room (washer hose popped out of the drainpipe) at the newer house most recently (this week) and Martin was available again with his drying equipment to save the day. And I've since strapped the hose to the pipe so it doesn't happen again. I recommend that if you have water or even smoke damage that you give Martin a call. You will be happy you did. read more

Wow!! I don't believe that there are many people that would take on attempting to get asphalt off of a couch, but Martin and Chris did an AMAZING job. Martin finished our insane carpeting situation. Having lived in the same building himself, he was familiar with the layout already. He was really professional, kind and knowledgeable about flooring and finished our 2 bd/2bath in about an hour. Super honest pricing and was straight forward about certain areas possibly returning due to the color/ type of stains. It's been about a month now since he came by for service and only a few spots have popped up. Having getting ready for a new addition to our family, it was really important to have this done prior to her arrival. Really great service - Martin and his assistant are extremely nice people and easy to work with. Martin responded to my original inquiry quickly, and was able to come out and get the job done quickly too. Even though it was a quick response, we were here while they were working and they worked very hard on our floors. Martin was honest in advance with me that everything might not come up due to the floors not being properly sealed before we owned the property. True enough, not every stain came out (they're old subway tiles from probably the 50's) but they looked so much better. Amazing. And in the more modern kitchen tile we have, I think he did get every stain out. That floor looks like new. Martin also had the chance to upsell me, he explained he could do one more service, but it would cost more, and he didn't think we'd get much benefit from it, so he didn't advise it. That really stood out for me, that he'd have a chance at making more money, but was honest about the benefit for us. They are also very careful in your house, protecting wall corners and cleaning up any kind of dirt or water tracked (not that there was much of that). I can't recommend enough! read more

Called Emerald Isle because our dog had ripped up a patch of carpet in our office. After calling a couple carpet cleaning companies, I found out that most of them do not do carpet repair.
