We loved Gemstone Park! HIGHLIGHTS: - Swings! (Including baby swings) - Basketball and Tennis Court - Picnic Tables & Benches - A large canopy for shade This park is very well maintained. The grass was freshly mowed and I didn't find any litter. The playground itself is accessible for toddlers. The child I nanny is 19 months and she had a blast. There were slides for her size and I went down the bigger slides with her. There are prairie dogs just a short walk down the path. You can hear them squeaking from the park, but they tend to hide if you get too close.

We got there late but still got a great spot to put our chairs to watch all the bands playing, front & center on the 3rd level. There were over 20 Colorado breweries pouring fantastic brews and several local food trucks. The bands were jamming all evening late into the night. It ended with a great Rock n Roll band and great pours from several breweries. Great area, atmosphere, space & vibes.

The staff is friendly- but not overly so- they are younger kids staffing with a little too much turnover- they probably deserve a higher paycheck- good people- They will gladly change a TV channel when politely asked to do so- especially for us old folks looking to treadmill for an hour!! The stalls were arranged in the park and we wandered down them. So many things to look at. Some talented people and cool food items. Peanuts cooked right in their shells, hot sauces, cookies and meat products. Great stocking stuffer and gift ideas. Jewelry and clothing items, household decor and music. Everyone was so nice and I even got to meet someone I follow on instagram and try her cookies. I enjoy this park and discover new things when I come. This time it was a little library. I love those as I like borrowing a book and bringing one to give.

Thank goodness there are port a potties since my 2 year granddaughter is potty training and had a little accident. There are plenty of apparatus for the kids to climb on and play with. There are wood chips under the play structures so you need to keep that in mind when deciding which shoes to have the kids wear. There is plenty of green space to throw a ball or play tag. Plenty of parking. We'll definitely be back since this park is located not far from my son's house in The Meadows. Thank you to the City of Castlerock for keeping this park clean.
