Unfair Practices and Predatory FeesThis business operates on a predatory model that exploits victims of crime. My vehicle was stolen and safely reported to the authorities. Instead of receiving an immediate phone call or digital notification once the vehicle was recovered and towed, this company sent a notice via standard snail mail.During the days it took for the letter to arrive, they tacked on an outrageous storage fee of $100 per day. To make matters worse, the notice conveniently arrived on a Friday. Because they are closed on weekends, I am forced to sit by and watch the bill accumulate another $200 while being completely locked out from retrieving my property.Charging a crime victim over $1,000 for a stolen vehicle recovery through calculated delays and weekend closures is completely unethical. They deliberately slow-walk notifications to maximize their daily profits. Avoid this place at all costs. read more

My brother had an accident on base with his Spyder motorcycle, and unfortunately the base has a contract with this company. They charged my 81 year old mother $572 for what they claim was 1 1/2 hours total time to hook up, load the Spyder, and tow to a repair lot that was a 22 minute drive away from the accident. In mid hookup when I found out the base was using this company I asked the driver over the phone what he estimated the charge would be. He said around $350 which I felt was too high so I asked him to drop the Spyder (which was not loaded into the trailer yet) so I could call another tow company but he refused. After it was dropped off at the autobody shop I was told the amount was now $572 (and that was discounted and he was doing me a favor). In addition, they wanted payment up front and would not accept payment from the insurance company. If the driver had to wait for my mom to get to the scene or we waited on paying they would continue to add more time and increase the charges. The other threat was that if we didn't pay up front they would have to impound the vehicle. So we were basically strong armed into paying this ridiculously high amount. Please think twice about using this company!! I believe the military base contracts with more than one tow company so if you do get into an accident on the base ask the officer for another option. read more

My car broke down and these guys came right away (within the hour) they said they were busy and that they were going to be about an hour which was fine. When the Jonathan arrived he was very careful with my car and made sure it would be towed safely (my car has been lowered and is pretty low) he dropped it off at my house safely and even took a picture and texted me a picture of it letting me know it got there safely! Really appreciate the quick and hard work these guys provided! The price was also amazing, by far the cheapest tow I've ever had. Definitely will be back again! read more

My vehicle was towed here by the police after an accident. The car was totaled but it took weeks for Emerald Towing to respond to my insurance company to release the car. Didn't cost me anything but they did charge the insurance company for the days the vehicle was stored in their lot. Not to mention I couldn't get paid for my wrecked car by the insurance until they controlled the car. read more

I had to spend a lot of time and energy to get my camper released from their impound lot after it was stolen. Initially, I was quoted a price that exceeded its value, but I was able to negotiate it down to the cost of the tow, which seemed fair. Just got a tow from these folks. Second tow ever in my life. Wasn't looking forward to spending money on the dumb truck (again), but after my first tow company experience, I knew what was possible and to hope for. Last tow I needed I was in the middle of nowhere. This time in a place where personal and property safety and security was a definite concern, with a loaded, exposed utility trailer! I called up, the lady who took my call answered my questions and was friendly. Told me someone would be out shortly. And very shortly afterwards Jason called me, letting me know his distance from my location. I felt that was a nice touch. Jason was professional, and knew what he was doing. Easy to get along with. Pickup and tow went very smoothly, and I felt the rate was reasonable, especially where they had to pick me up, and the distance to where I had them drop it all off. Emerald was actually recommended to me by another tow company that gets excellent reviews, but was out of trucks for the next three hours, so I think that says something about Emerald too. Something that should have been a quick answer turned into a 45 min conversation because she couldn't release info to me even though my name was also on the title. And then I was given the info anyway. So the whole conversation was unwarranted. read more

This company has ruined my life. I had my e150 conversion van stolen from me on the 25th of June and they picked up on the 27th after the thieves ditched it (mechanical issues, they got all the value out aka my entire life) on emerald towing land. They were unprofessional and rude and while I've had my van towed before they've always notified me and allowed me to pay to release it with the paperwork I presented. I had to travel to the place I bought my van to retrieve my paperwork to prove it was mine to report it stolen and that's when I found out emerald towing had it. They showed zero sympathy or regard for the fact that my entire life is inside of this van I was clearly living in it. They told me 1800$ and of course, I can't pay that. They legally stole my van from me after it was stolen the first time! Just didn't even care. Lady in the reception office yelled out to the other lady "IS SHE CRYING" with laughter in her tone. Rude. UNPROFESSIONAL. would NEVER recommend this place. They need to be SHUT DOWN. Even had the audacity to make me sign paperwork and said "we need an address" when I explained 50 times that my address was inside that van. Now I'm in the streets thanks to emeral towing. read more

I'm a single 58 yr old woman and tried to get help with fixing it but my finances prevented me getting help soon enough,they towed my car I had left a message to call before towing no one botherd to do that I paid 3000.$ for this car and it was my only way to get around I tried to arrange payment which was 586.$ first bill, long story short they sold it for 50$ and left me with no vehicle no way to get help or food they don't give a rats ass about your situation they have a license to steal. Changed rate loading my stuff. Refused to provide a written quote, saying it was time based. I didn't even get the 150 per hour in writing. Then after driving my cargo container down the road they changed the rate to 200 an hour. They were also an hour late, texting me after I had already showed up saying they were on the way, then it took them half an hour longer than it should have, charging me for the time. Then they would not give me a receipt for the cash so we had to wait for someone to come from the office to give me a receipt which took over half an hour. What kind of company does not give written quotes or receipts and changed the charge rate after they have loaded your stuff? read more

One star is doing this company justice, I wish I could give no star. Everyone is rude & unhelpful. Shannon was especially rude & didn't seem to know much about giving good customer service. I didn't feel helped or cared for in anyway. She made me feel like I was bothering or annoying her by calling & asking questions. The tow truck drivers don't seem to be prepared or educated on a lot of the stuff going on. Seems to me like there is a lack of team work and communication. I will not be using this business ever again and I strongly recommend to find another company so that you can have a better experience somewhere else! read more

I would give Shannon a one on the way she speaks to clients on the phone. I asked for the owner so I could discuss her mouth with him and how she approaches customers on the phone. She would not put me thru to Mike if that's the owners name. She said not to call back again. So the best way to get thru is post it on the internet. Maybe he will get the message now. Emerald towing is not a company I would recommend. My experience begins thusly, I mistakenly parked my vehicle in an area covered by their operations. They towed the vehicle, this is perfectly kosher and not bad form. However it was not their sign that was posted in the lot. It was another company's so in addition to the indignity of paying for my own vehicle I had to work to find out where the deuce it was. Their office personnel are also shall we say less than stellar. When I finally found out where my car was and call them up, I was treated to a perfunctory answer and then was promptly put on hold. the individual was answering the phone after a couple of minutes designed to address my inquiry. I was eventually able to shake loose the information I required, small things such as where my car was and what I would have to do to get it back. I was also informed that for the doubtful service of taking my car they were charging me two hundred and fifty dollars. Which is about twice what I expect said doubtful service to cost on the market. Such is life. If there was a zero star review I would've given that however needs must when the devil drives. read more

This company is so rude and unprofessional. They towed my 16 year olds son's car without notice and did not leave paperwork saying they had even towed the car. My son worked at a fast food restaurant and save to purchase his own vehicle. They towed the car from in front of my home on private property because the tabs had expired, yet right next to where my son parks his car was another vehicle with expired tabs. When I was attempting to get information. the manager was sooo rude and argumentative. when I was attempting to ask why my sons car was towed and not my neighbors she states maybe your son should follow the law and not let his tabs expire. I expressed that I felt my son was being targeted because he is black the manager replied No that's ridiculous when I asked why the other car wasn't towed she states this conversation is over and hung up on me. I will never recommend this business to anyone in fact I plan to ban every business associated with this company.
