What began with being stuck on a ski lift with a fear of heights, over time, had spiraled into intense panic attacks on freeway overpasses, basic on-ramps, driving in unfamiliar areas that are completely flat, and simply sitting as a passenger while someone else drives mountains or bridges. Full blown panic as though there is a vortex sucking the entire car off the edge. I tried exposure therapy for years to no avail. HORRIBLE DR!!! I agree with Rich here 100%…read more I had been coming here for years but my regular doctor left to another practice (Dr. March Roan - she was GREAT). Dr. Sawyer does not listen to you AT ALL and only wants you to tell him 2 reasons why you are there - regardless of what your actual concerns are. I do not like doctors offices so I don't go for every little thing - only if something persists and is affecting my quality of life. ANYWAY - one of my concerns was numbness in my fingers - he did not ask me anything about it other than what I do for a living (yes typing is part of what I do but not a data entry clerk or anything so repetitive) his advice was to file a workers comp claim. Um - no - how about you TREAT the symptoms? PT? A Brace perhaps? Something useful please?! I have several examples but will limit them here in the interest of time...I had to demand a referral to a GI doctor because Dr. Sawyer doesn't just do referrals or tests for "the heck of it" - ok, so my chronic heartburn, indigestion, gut wrenching hiccups and IBS are not good reasons to get a referral to a gastroenterologist....um ok then. After persisting, I finally got my upper endoscopy and they found my stomach inflamed with polyps...they would not give me the results over the phone (another scam-different office) so I had them faxed to Dr. Sawyer and I had to call to follow up on the biopsies of the polyps and results of the endoscopy...he said "nothing, it's fine - millions of people have this" - I asked what do you mean "have this? what do I have exactly?" - he said "your stomach is like that because of the ibuprofen you take"....I said "I don't take Ibuprofen except once a month for my cramps"... never received a diagnosis or treatment plan or anything useful at all. I ended up hanging up on him out of sheer frustration at his lack of concern and condescending tone. He just assumes things without asking - jumps to conclusions....the WRONG conclusions! He did not take the time to find out anything at all about me or my lifestyle - he just made judgements and assumptions and recommended a youtube video for me to watch! Can't stand this man!! STAY AWAY if you want REAL medical treatment and healing!!!! Incidentally, when I left the exam room on my one and only visit with him, the nurses saw the look of frustration on my face and asked what was wrong, when I told them, they had a look of complete understanding, like they already knew because they've heard complaints about him before. Staff is great - doctor is NOT!!

He actually let me practice and learn how to drive stick shift in his own personal car, and we had my therapy sessions while we were driving. He did that out of pure compassion, just to help me out when I was down and to give me a necessary skill that I'd need for my career going forward.
