This review is long overdue for a company that truly deserves the highest recognition. Get ready for a bit of a novel, but my experience with Emergency Home Solutions warrants every single word. I found out about Emergency Home Solutions in a complete happenstance kind of way back in January 2026. My extremely old water kicked the bucket. I initially hired Olson Superior Plumbing because I had used them once before, and purchasing a new water heater through them was the easiest, smoothest process I have ever experienced. All was good in my new water heater world until exactly two weeks later. My upstairs neighbor's water heater leaked heavily down into my closet, right onto my brand-new unit. Luckily, my dog-like ears caught a distant dripping sound at 9:00 PM on a weekend. I was in at total frenzy seeing a sopping wet closet, fearing my new unit was faulty. This was the first time I had to use Olson's 24/7 emergency line, and the woman on duty, Cai, called me right back. She immediately put me on the schedule for the next day. Thankfully, my new water heater was perfect, but the closet, walls and ceiling inside were not because of the severe water damage. There was an urgency for remediation and restoration. Fortunately, Olson Superior Plumbing works side-by-side with a restoration company called Emergency Home Solutions. Olson was extremely helpful in getting me in direct contact with them to fix this urgent situation. Hiring an emergency company on a blind referral is nerve-wracking, but Emergency Home Solutions made it incredibly easy. It turned into a complicated two-month debacle involving insurance claims, water mitigation, and extensive restoration. Cory Bowen, the founder, was one of the most genuine, helpful people I have ever met. He personally came on-site to inspect the damages, mapping out the scope of work clearly and concisely. He lowered my stress significantly by holding my hand through the entire process. If I were to be critical, communication regarding active coordination and scheduling could be slightly improved. Additionally, the billing side needs tightening; they took my final payment quickly but failed to provide a proper invoice or a paid-in-full receipt, which is unacceptable for a business. However, I gladly overlook these blemishes because the overall service was phenomenal. I absolutely recommend Emergency Home Solutions; the peace of mind is entirely worth it. I am forever grateful for these people who offered an endless amount of generosity and patience throughout this whole process. They were professional and efficient, but were also FUNNY as all get out that kept spirits high. They are passionate about their work which I rarely see and it won't be forgotten. I had never heard the name Uzzi before and was embarrassed I could not hear him correctly. He clarified with using a rhyme - Uzzi in the Jacuzzi. This was the best humor ever! JOSE - Emergency Home Solutions Estimator Restoration Side - Reserved, but super nice, professional guy who arrived early and took necessary photos layouts of restoration scope. Unfortunately, I was upset due to miscommunication regarding appointment scheduling. Jose took my attitude in stride and got the job done. CASEY VAIL - Project Manager for the Restoration side of Emergency Home Solutions. He had an endless pit of energies which was initially shocking. In all honesty, Casey was an absolute pleasure to work with. He was "all in" all the time and was always available. You had questions, he had answers. You needed anything, he was on it. Phenomenal with details and multitasking. He was my "best friend" everyday contact for approximately two months. Highest compliments to Casey because there are no words to express how much he helped me. JORDAN & ARTURO - Subcontractors for Emergency Home Solutions - Restoration "put the house back together" team. This was a two-man crew, craftsmanship and perfection at its finest. Things keep getting worse, it seems when they disconnected my dishwasher, they forgot to leave me the Bosch adapter that connected one of the hoses to a valve they probably cut. So when I had a plumber come in to re-install my dishwasher, they could not reconnect it because I was missing this adapter. The plumber charged me for the visit, and now I have to find and order the part (around $100) on my own and call back the plumber leaving me without a dishwasher for even longer. read more

I would rate EHS a 2.5 if half-star ratings were available. I was introduced to EHS through Olson Plumbing (not by choice) after a leak from my neighbor's unit affected our shared wall and flooring. I want to provide a balanced and transparent review based on my personal experience. Pros: The remediation team was excellent--responsive, communicative, and very professional. I called on a Thursday, and they were at my home the same day. They handled our belongings with care, removing and replacing furniture thoughtfully. The restoration team was friendly and generally easy to work with, and portions of the work met expectations. They were accommodating when additional patching work was needed. Cons (primarily related to restoration): The project timeline was significantly longer than expected. Work began in early October and was not completed until December, despite an initial estimate of about two weeks. I understand delays can happen, but more proactive communication would have made a big difference instead of requiring constant follow-up on my end. I was never provided with a clear, upfront cost or asked to formally approve a quote. I was initially told insurance would cover most of the cost and that I would only be responsible for the deductible ($5,000), which would later be reimbursed due to the neighbor's claim. However, I ultimately paid over $10,000 out of pocket, which was unexpected. Communication around scheduling was inconsistent. For example, when our flooring installation was delayed by a week due to material availability, I was not informed until I reached out. Since we work offsite, schedule changes impact us significantly and should be communicated in advance. I did not observe consistent oversight from a project manager during the restoration phase. I often had to raise concerns about the quality of work myself and request corrections. EHS was there for us every step of the way during our Cat 3 water damage emergency. I can see why they are the preferred vendor with our plumber. They came out within an hour of our plumber contacting them, and immediately got to work drying the moisture behind our walls. EHS has many techs on staff, but every one we dealt with was punctual, courteous and professional. Each day, someone came to the house to check water levels, and provide us with updates on the drying progress. All of the techs were knowledgeable, and were able to answer any and all questions we had. Unfortunately, our insurance company denied our claim, but Adrian from EHS was kind enough to work with us on our final invoice. Worked with Cory Bowen years ago (not by choice--had a pinhole leak that caused water damage in my home. The restoration company I chose (Majac Restoration) used this company and a separate plumber. Apparently, Cory Bowen was to be paid separately directly through me (not directly my insurance or through Majac restoration whom I thought was acting as a GC since he coordinated and dealt with all services Cory provided). After I had paid Majac and the plumber, Cory suddenly sent an email at 9 pm at night stating, "We will be coming to your (insert my business location) tomorrow to collect the balance owed. We have tried many other ways, but you don't return calls, and this has gone on long enough. Please be sure to have your checkbook tomorrow. We have sent you all correspondence needed to simply pay us our paychecks." I replied that I had literally NEVER heard from them or had a single call from them other than a group email I was cc'd on 7 weeks prior asking for my insurance company, claim# and adjuster contact info AFTER they had performed the "demo and dry down" of my home, to which Majac's contractor (Mike) immediately replied to all of us in the chat saying he had sent the info to Cory. In response to his incredibly unprofessional email (where he had googled my name and business apparently), I emailed and forwarded that ONE communication I had ever received from this company (and all work/home entry etc was done and scheduled by Majac as I was living off site in a hotel while mold mitigation and repairs were done as I was pregnant so my insurance paid to move me out), and advised I had never received a single phone call, email or invoice since that initial text that the General Contractor at Majac had replied to. I advised him I had assumed he was being paid through Majac or the insurance (isn't that what a GC does?? Especially when he hired them and handled all communication and scheduling?? I advised Cory I had already paid the plumber and Majac Restoration and had no idea there was any other outstanding expenses owed to anyone. I immediately offered to call and pay via credit card over the phone, and they, of course, wouldn't take a credit card, and insisted on coming by my business to pick up a check immediately. I would NEVER do business with someone that disorganized or unprofessional again. No ownership of their employees not sending invoices, or calling, or mailing me a single thing. Unfortunately, we had to use EHS services because of a window leak. I called and Cory came out very quickly do to the initial consultation and identified exactly what areas of the walls/ceiling were wet. He walked me through the whole process and honestly, it felt a little overwhelming. It's the first time we had to deal with a leak like this and I wasn't comfortable with them cutting into our walls to try out the affected areas. But it's either that or potentially deal with mold, and since we plan on being here for awhile, we decided it was best to address the issue quickly. The team came in and cut open the drywall in the affected areas, set up plastic barriers, and brought in a couple of huge dehumidifiers and fans to essentially bake and dry out the walls. These things were massive and sucked so much energy - even with solar. Every day after about 4 days of drying they would come by to take moisture measurements. After the moisture levels dropped to a certain level, they packed up their gear and left. One of the project leads worked with me on a reconstruction plan since insurance denied our claim. We were able to negotiate the price as well as a couple of small projects I asked them to do since they were going to retexture and repaint the area (and beyond) anyway, and I looked forward to the work. The crew finished the construction in a little less than a week. By far the best part of this whole situation was the construction crew. They were quick and efficient, and did very high quality work. I chatted with them a bit and they were really friendly as well. Very professional. In the end, our walls look better, our ceiling looks great, the paint downstairs is actually uniform (the people who lived here before us painted half the kitchen a separate color, with the split being in the middle of the wall). The carpet that had to be peeled back for the project was replaced perfectly. Really happy with the work they did. The project was not without hiccups though. The most frustrating aspect was the communication. There are so many people to keep track of - I highly recommend bookmarking the initial email that has everyone listed on there. But because of this, often some details were lost as we progressed through the project. At one point, construction was halted because of a miscommunication, which dragged the whole project a bit. Thus, I recommend being proactive and calling everyone to stay on top of the timeline. Also, one of the first people who I worked with over the phone was disrespectful. It wasn't Gabby, but someone who was filling in for her during a lunch. She had forgotten to place me on hold when she asked someone a question and referred to me as "Mark McGonagall or whatever" and said some other things that not only were patronizing, but made me even more stressed during the initial phase of the project when we were talking about removing entire sections of the wall. When she "put me off hold", her voice got all sweet again and spoke with respect, and when I called her out, she didn't apologize or acknowledge what she did. Overall, it was very stressful, but I'm happy with the end result from EHS. Given the price of the water mitigation and now knowing a bit more about what insurance will and will not cover, I'd probably do a few things differently. I hope I don't have to go through this again, but if I did, I'd probably use EHS again. read more

In April I had a very serious slab leak in my home and EHS was recommended by my Plumber. The same day as the event they came out and did a fantastic and detailed job documenting the damage and notifying me of when they would arrive. They did a fantastic job of keeping the area clean and putting up barriers. Their remediation team made a thorough report and I was impressed at their willingness to work with my insurance to agree to an amount. The reconstruction was subcontracted out to a GC who I was very impressed with. He was punctual nice and very easy to work with (Pashall construction). My only complaint was that it was not well communicated when he was coming out, however I was happy they arrived. I was very impressed with their work. I also wanted to note that I worked with Bobbi Turrey to finalize the invoice for construction. She was super responsive and a consummate professional. She really made us feel like she cared about putting our home back together. Any minor issues that I was unhappy with she rectified immediately and was very patient with me while I asked her literally hundreds of questions. EHS made a stressful situation less stressful. I cannot say the same for my insurance so I'm glad I had them on my side. They are in a complicated and difficult industry that I have experience in and I can wholeheartedly say they shine. read more

Non existent communication. I hired EMS for a rental property in Orange County. My wife and I live remotely, we used to live in the OC - we have other rental properties. A valuable 28 year long tenant of ours in Lake Forest had a moisture issue in the bath, so we called EMS. Big mistake. They did the demo then they were pretty much invisible . They use a text system to communicate to you, but it doesn't acknowledge when you respond - they don't text back. Madison and Rebecca at EMS disappear at about 3:30 on Fridays. In fact, a message I received the following week from Madison that said our employees are all hourly on Friday, so we can't reply. .... huh, -- what ? No one let us know the progress of the work, and our tenants have little command of English, so they weren't sure if the project was complete or not. Apparently the work was complete on a Friday at about 3pm, but we didn't know UNTIL the following Monday, when EMS decided to come back to work and respond to messages and request $$$. Short version, we absolutely, positively, respectfully, would not hire them again. read more

I'm not one to usually review on yelp but since I found them on yelp I figured I'd help someone potentially not make the same mistake we did. We had a slab leak and I found EHS on yelp to help mitigate the damage. The 5 star system here is tough because it depends on what I'm rating. The mater mitigation team was great. They showed up on time and did clean work. Probably 5 stars. Got the job done. The re-construction side of things would be a 1 star. Bobbi walked through my house and was nice and responsive but they sub contract the work out beyond that. They sent one guy to paint and replace dry wall. He left an absolute mess and did not use any sort of dust protection for the parts of my house that weren't being work on. He even got paint on the front of our dishwasher that was sitting in the middle of the room he was working on. Absolutely careless and sloppy work. On the last day when he was "finished with the job", he left drywall mud in globs everywhere, trash and multiple dust pans worth of dust that I had to clean up by sweeping and using a shop-vac. He even left multiple nails on the floor that my 2 year old found. The painter would take the door to my kid's room off everyday, knowing we were living here during this, and I'd have to hang it back up. He left the job complete without putting wall plates back on outlets which is small but felt careless. Definitely not the type of work you'd expect for the prices they charge. Outside of the mess, the work was amateur at best. I've painted rooms and am not good at it but still feel like I'd do a better job than he did. . They sent another guy out to fix the paint but it's still not great. There are plenty of areas with drip lines and the prior color showing through. On top of this all, I had to babysit the job and point out areas that were supposed to get done but didn't. They gave me a discount on the price for the inconvenience but it still felt pricey for the work that was done. They lock you into a contract with very vague verbiage. I probably should have pushed the issue more to pay less but didn't want to deal with it anymore. When I emailed Ivan telling him we wished to cut ties and cited the reason above, I never heard back from him. I don't feel like the level of terrible work done was properly compensated but decided to not fight over it and vote with my dollar instead. If I were to do this again, I'd maybe use them for water mitigation as they were great and helped me get a better payout from my insurance again. I would NEVER use them for reconstruction. They charge premium pricing for very poor work. The quote I received for my kitchen was very high and delivered via text message which felt pretty unprofessional and didn't provide any detail or breakdowns. I used EHS initially because of positive yelp scores and to support a local business but the quality of the work is something I'd be terribly embarrassed by if I were the owner. read more

Last year, we ended up needing water remediation in our home following a plumbing issue which resulted in a couple of failed toilet wax rings upstairs which then resulted in some leakage into the ceiling of our living room downstairs. Obviously this was a very stressful time for us, particularly as we had never had any plumbing issues or needed any work done in our home, and we are both fairly particular about maintaining our home. EHS's professionalism as we started this process quickly put our minds at ease and helped us navigate the process of assessing the damage, getting the damaged ceiling removed, drying out the affected area and then working with us to restore it to a likely new state. Removing large sections of drywall and then needing to have blowers and dehumidifiers working for days, is inherently pretty messy work even with the containment measures required. However through this process the EHS team worked to ensure that our house was well taken care of and well protected. They also were constantly cleaning up after themselves and in general went out of their ways to minimize the impact on our lives. I'd like to especially like give a shout out to Fabian and Caesar who basically orchestrated this whole process with us. With the remediation complete, Bobbi Turrey from EHS's restoration department then worked with us to get things back to exactly where they were, and I do mean EXACTLY. Having a large portion of the living room ceiling drywall and then crown molding on two sides of the room being torn out and then redone was not something we were looking forward to. Especially as this room also gets a fair amount of light coming in sideways and certain times of the day that would quickly reveal any unevenness or defects in the repaired drywall. Bobbi worked with us (and our insurance) over the course of several weeks to exactly get things back to like new conditions. And I have to say that EHS came through on this, despite the fact that I have a pretty good eye for detail, EHS restored the ceiling exactly such that it really could not tell that any work was ever done there. The workmanship was impeccable. They were able to source the same exact crown molding as the original 10 years later, and they did all of this while minimizing the disruption to the rest of our home, and cleaning up after themselves when the work was done. It truly was as though the whole ordeal had never happened afterwards. Throughout this process, they were always on time for appointments, and extremely communicative, notifying us of every appointment, when they were on the way, what was next, etc. For a significant portion of this process they were holding our hands daily, and their professionalism, detailed documentation, state-of-the-art tech, and follow-up ensured a very smooth and painless process both with them and our homeowners insurance. Though I hope that we won't need to do something like this again anytime soon, it is a huge comfort knowing exactly who we can trust in the event that the need arises. read more

Water mitigation was great, team moved quickly, setting up a containment plastic tarp, demoing the drywall, bringing in dehumidfiers/fans and and drying out the area. The demo went very smoothly and they jumped on it very quickly, likely saving us from mold and any further damage. The process to get everything quoted and working with the insurance company was great. They worked with the adjuster and to get things hashed out and put together a super thorough estimate and contract for the water mitigation and rebuild. You can definitely tell they have the experience to work through the process here, and do a great job of it. Contracts were very professional and detailed, really impressed with the level of detail in each item that was observed from reviewing the garage damage and initial state. Rebuild itself was a little more shaky, would probably look elsewhere if were to need reconstruction work next time. The team that executed the work seemed unfamiliar with what was scoped in the contract, had to point a few things out to get them completed or refunded if they were unable to actually do the work. Needed to babysit a bit, they neglected to protect/tape the firesprinklers when putting up the drywall, getting paint and spackle on them which is a huge pain to deal with down the line when the HOA does inspections, but they did get it resolved when pointed out. If you are in a condo make sure to look out for this, or you'll be on the hook for a big bill down the line when the HOA inspects. We also ended up with multiple things damaged in the rebuild process, though mostly minor, including: dented/beatup the water heater, garage door dented and warped (probably from letting it drop down with disconnected spring), car charger faceplate cracked, and electrical/outlet faceplates damaged/missing or not placed back on. Ended spending an additional $1000 between electrician and garage door dude outside of the rebuild estimate to get everything back to normal (which included items covered in the initial contract), and still am left with a somewhat broken garage door and beat up water heater. Overall, garage is now functional again, walls are up and in pretty good shape. Even with the bumps and dings it is great to be back up and running. read more

Short story: Bad communication with me and with HVAC company. Possible scare tactic sales pitch. Over priced rebuild. I used them because they were a sister company of my plumbing and hvac companies I use. They were nice and friendly but had a bunch of different issues that stacked up to where I wouldn't recommend them. For context my gas furnace is on top of a wood box in my garage with drywall around it and plywood on top. It is also the air intake from the house. This box got water damage and they came out to evaluate it. Told me they would have to tear it all down because it isn't if but when it loses integrity with that amount of water damage. They also walked me through figuring out if it was worth being an insurance claim or not and it was not so they knew that. I also said it didn't have to exactly match in the end what it looked like before. They dry it out and take off the drywall. Said they would get a quote from my HVAC on moving the furnace out of the way and reinstalling. Next guy came out "oh the furnace isn't moved yet?" This was repeated by others in later visits. Their communication with the hvac company was bad and things dragged on needlessly. They then would schedule follow ups with me without telling me what they were or asking my availability. I'd just get text notifications about them. After getting the drywall off told me they wouldn't remove the wood because it ended up fine. So the whole "it's not if but when" was apparently not a thing after all. Once I finally had the furnace removed and they had torn everything down they were going to tear down they then quoted me $2600 to re-drywall and paint. Quote was thorough on exactly what would be done so I know that is all it was for. We are talking about ~10 sq ft of drywall here. $150 in materials then apparently $2400 of labor? I decided to not to use them for that which after reading other reviews after the fact seems wise. At least 2 stars because the demo people were friendly, they didn't leave a mess, and the general expertise/equipment used to dry the area was effective. read more

Everyone that worked in our home was super friendly. To be completely honest, our home looks better than before the leak. We only paid for the deductible plus a couple small extras. I had the best experience with Jared and Emergency Home Solutions. We had previous water damage to our home and found some mold behind our dining room baseboards that we did not know existed until we replaced our flooring. Instead of cutting out the drywall near the floor I naively sprayed the mold with a solution and replaced the baseboard right on top of the old mold. Jared came out to our home and took a look around the baseboards and cabinets near the affected area and educated us on our options of treating the area and the pros and cons of each one. He was extremely knowledgeable and very down to earth. My wife and I were both impressed by his professionalism and never once did we feel like he was trying to sell us on something we didn't need to do. He gave us a detailed estimate to remediate the mold and walked me through the entire process. We ultimately decided to push pause on the project for financial and other reasons for the time being as we just spent a lot of time and money on a remodel. Jared Browne from EHS did a visual inspection in our kitchen area, we called him because the installers of our new dishwasher stated that the area had mold and refused to perform the installation. We discovered a slab leak in May of this year (2023) and EHS restored our home. They came in and managed the full packout of our first floor (kept our belongings in a secure location during the rebuild), demo, and reconstruction. The removed an old, ill-placed fire place, a window, a couple walls, relocated our sink, dishwasher and undercabinet ice maker to a HUGE island, painted, and installed new flooring. Cory and Jarod are both great! As I was cleaning out my Master Closet I discovered mold on one wall. I sent pictures to Cory and he was able to give me an estimate very quickly. Jarod came the next morning and took care of the problem. We also had some mildew above the master shower. We had that taken care of too. Cory and Jared told us our options and we decided to replace all of the old fans in the bathrooms and install a new one over the shower. We are very happy with the work that was done in our home. I just used Cory and his team when SoCal had gone through torrential downpour (and still is). My daughter's room on the 2nd floor of our home was leaking and my wife and I couldn't figure out why the carpet in her closet was soaked and only the bottom of the wall was wet. No wetness on the ceiling, no spots... nothing else. The inside wall wasn't wet. We needed to think fast as more rain was forecasted and mold was growing in the closet space. Out of all the companies Yelp led me to, Cory got back to me the timeliest and got out to my home same day. I was screwed over in the past by another company which, come to find out later, led me to this predicament in the first place (check the first roofing company I used) and I couldn't afford throwing anymore money. Cory evaluated the space and, without making a mess of the home, determined the source of the leak and the path the leak took to get to only certain parts of the room. Cory was upfront, very respectful, and made sure there were no surprises. He laid out the process, the equipment that was to be used, and got me in contact with folks on his team that would help assist with the repairs. The room is finished (as is the roof) and I can't express enough how pleased I am. Rain is coming again tomorrow, but my family and I now have peace of mind knowing Cory and his team did the work. There's not enough good things to say about EHS. Having a water leak suddenly appear in our living room ceiling from the washer upstairs was about as fun as having Christmas cancelled. Cory from EHS showed up the next day and figured out exactly how widespread the leak was and explained what needed to be done. Next day his guys was making sure to put up tarp to cover everything and put up fans and humidifiers. This is the second time I have had Emergency Home Solutions our to our house. The first time we found an odd leak in an extra bedroom and on a Saturday morning Cory was out with his equipment checking for water damage and reassured us we were good. He treated it as a favor and it was refreshing having such an honest and ethical business owner. Our second time using EHS was a much more dire situation. Had a supply line burst from my dishwasher and flood my house. Cory was there within 20 min from another job in the area to assess the damage. It was quite extensive, wood floors and all kitchen cabinets destroyed, he facilitated the best service I could hope for.
