Johnny of Paul Davis Restoration was literally 'Johnny on the Spot'. The water line for the ice maker behind the refrigerator leaked. Water damage! YIKES. I had no experience with this kind of catastrophe, but Johnny guided me through the entire restoration project. Even when there was no incentive for him, he informed me I should employ independent inspectors, for mold & asbestos. He called daily, sometimes multiple times a day, to update me on what work was to be done and when. He patiently explained everything. Both the refrigerator and dishwasher, as well as partial cabinetry, had to be removed. Work was completed efficiently and prompty. When the work was completed, and things restored, a part to the dishwasher was missing. Johnny even reimbursed me for the part & labor to install it. Extraordinary! Above & beyond my expectations. I have been meaning to update this, It took my all of 20 mins on Facebook to find a guy to finish all the half jobs they left , this was at 5 months, my place was a fixer upper not a remodel, the guy I found charged $3500 to their 11k for a bathroom in a half Laundry room in a one bedroom place , he finished in one week , these people are nice until you sign check over to them, they do not know the difference between employer and employee as they are the employee , they took full advantage of my 83 yr old mother and I am Disabled , they will tell you it will be done in 2 wks and keep lying as Arron told me "They feel people are stuck" lol yeah, lots of people want jobs , their companies will keep telling you, you have to pay for things to be switched out at 1k for everything , I am poor and rather stay that way than to be horrible to people as johnny and arron were to me and all the piss poor companies they hire , don't trust them unless you have a vacation home to stay in for 6 months to a year , the good reviews prob friends one last thing, there employee ompanies are more worried about running to the next job, i still need to repaint, as the guy got black stuff from tub on the ceiling and a cut in my laundry room from taking no care with your home after painter came for 7 days read more

Several months ago we had a flood in our kitchen (my fault) and we needed help, and quick. Lucky for us we found Paul Davis Restoration and its a good thing we did as they got to work the same day I called them! They had fans going and machines that took the humidity out of the air in no time as it dried everything super fast. From there, they found Asbestos (not good!) and within 24 hours they were removing and cleaning the entire downstairs, allowing us to be in the house quickly and I knew at that time that Paul Davis had my back. All of this was the quickness of Heather Carrasco, our Super-girl when we needed anything! The next 2-3 months could not have be done without the dedication of Aaron Baker and Johnny Sheehan, both who helped us everyday to get this done, making it easy for us. Lastly, Betty Asalone (Owner) is behind the scene and when we needed something, we got it from her quickly (which was very needed) and for that we thank her! This company is all about customer service. When our home had a leak in the bathroom that resulted in removing flooring and drywall they walked me through the whole process. I was so thankful that they were always available for my endless questions and concerns. John was wonderful about calming my fears and taking care of removing the effected floors and drywall and then drying everything out. Johnny provided a reasonably competitive estimate for mold removal, and John did a good job. But Paul Davis gets only 3 stars because it then provided an unreasonably high estimate for restoration. I don't know if they thought they already had my business captured since they did the mold removal, but the quote was over 75% (over $2,200) higher than the next highest estimate! That estimate left a very poor taste in my mouth. I'm glad to have gotten more than one quote and didn't let Paul Davis walked away with that much more money. read more

Paul Davis Restoration was out at my home a couple of weeks ago. I had a pinhole leak in a pipe which supplied water to my upstairs master bathroom. The walls were soaking wet 20 feet up the wall and the guy who came out to my house explained to me that the drywall needed to be removed because the insulation in the wall was also soaking wet and acting like a sponge and would take weeks to dry if not removed. The one thing that impressed me most was that this company cared enough about its customers to test for asbestos in the drywall due to the fact it was built in 1970 something. The results came back with no asbestos (thank the lord) and they came back out and removed the drywall and dried the remaining wet materials. They were very clean, and very efficient. Once drying started it only took 2 days to dry and they told me it would take possibly up to 5 days in the beginning. I loved that it only took 2 days! Thanks guys! read more

I had a kitchen fire this past Xmas Eve. It was a small fire in one corner of my counter, and because I had a small fire extinguisher under my sink, I was able to put it out before the fire department showed up. Like I mentioned, this fire was very small (Espresso machine was on fire and the flames were shooting up from my cabinets to the ceiling), but the damaged it did to my whole house was unbelievable. There was soot in every room....adhering to lampshades, shutters, rugs....everything! Paul Davis restoration came to the rescue. They were amazing! Every step was so planned: After the estimate of the damage, the packers came in and packed up all my kitchen items for cleaning. The rug and upholstery cleaners were next. They took all my couches, chairs and lampshades away for cleaning. Then the painters came in and painted the whole kitchen, and did an amazing job too! The next step was having the cleaners come in and do the heavy duty (construction-type) cleaning; windows, walls, molding, and shutters, etc. Of course the last step was putting everything back to the way it was before the fire. Even the packers took pics before removing all my kitchen stuff, and they put everything back just the way it was. I would first like to say that I would have given five stars but I didn't want to confuse my rating system. I leave it as four because of Charles, the BEST part of Paul Davis! In April 2018 we had a toilet leak in our home at 4:30 am. At 6:00 am the first people to come to our aid was Paul Davis Restoration, and most importantly Charles! This was our first (and hopefully only) flood experience. To say that it was overwhelming would be an understatement. But Charles put us at ease as soon as he walked into our home; educating us about how the restoration process works and what needed to be done before we could move back into our home. As a family with many animals (including a few senior dogs and cats) it was imperative that we find housing before work could begin. Though we were pushed by the owner's son several times to start work immediately, I knew that it was in the best interest of my animals and family to find housing first (which took some time). Though I do not wish any kind of damage to anyone, what I have learned in this process is that as home owners you have choices. It's been two years since I needed the services of Paul Davis Restoration. A plumbing company drained my water heater improperly and caused a leak that produced a100% moisture reading in our garage wall and adjacent bathroom wall. They were out within a half hour of my call with large fans and verified moisture tests. after the new water heater was removed the next day, they immediately contained the area in the garage and cut open the wall and removed the saturated drywall on the water heater base and the wall. They added dehumidifiers in both the bathroom and garage. Due to their quick action, our problem was resolved before it had time to get worse. They were conscientious about wearing a mask and social distancing. They responded quickly to texts and were very fair about their pricing. While Paul Davis is open 24/7, they do not actually send people out when a pipe leaks after regular business hours, nor do they contact you 15 minutes after they said they would. If you are looking for a contractor who keeps his word about when and where, look elsewhere. This is especially true if you are calling after hours and your water is currently turned off. This review is regarding Kevin Biniasz. He is the project manager. I've never met with anyone so unprofessional, until I met with Kevin. Kevin didn't want to give me a quote until I gave him my quote from the insurance company. The claims adjuster said they were supposed to give me an independent quote so that I can submit that in. Since I refused to give Kevin my insurance quote, he told me to take my business someplace else. I was rather shocked at that response. I am very unsatisfied with their business. I found this lack of customer service from the whole company, including the owners son when it came down to scheduling an appointment. This company is very hard to work with. I would not recommend them at all. Anyone who wants stuff done, please beware. Heather on the other hand, the receptionist, is very personable and polite. I wish the rest of the company had the same positive attitude as she did when dealing with customers. She had better customer service then anyone else there. read more

He also helped me to mark where the water is with blue tape and asked me to get a handyman to remove the ceiling and let it dry because it didn't cause damage to other parts and then put new dry walls in. Pat came to my home to give me an estimate on possible water damage inside of my wall . I removed the damaged dry wall to show him what I thought was damaged by the water and termites. He did his inspection and told me there was no damage except for the leak in a water line. He could have give me an estimate for frame damage and other items. Found some dreaded black mold (mushrooms and all) in a downstairs bathroom where the toilet had not been sealed properly and had been leaking for months, even years. Pat of Paul Davis Restoration was very responsive in inspecting the site, then making sure we stayed safe and informed. He was always very clear about the process that would lie ahead. It is not simple, as before and after the remediation outside testing services also had to assure the drywall of our older house was asbestos free, and that after the work spores and moisture had been completely removed. His crew worked hard and were polite and helpful during every step. Pat reached out to me by phone with any news and quickly answered my questions. I have service providers (drywall, painting, tile) that are able to put the bathroom back in its original condition, though Pat was able to recommend a competent and reasonable plumber to quickly replace a corroded angle stop valve so we could proceed. Not inexpensive, but given our concern and the urgency of the situation, it could not have been handled more professionally or in a more timely manner. read more

I was left with finding another contractor to reinstall the removed drywall and put in a new water heater and HVAC unit. Paul Davis was recommended by our insurance carrier. John Asalone was very prompt to come out and look at our slap leak and test for moisture. Luckily we had very little interior damage. John was efficient, professional and very helpful in discussing our options. During our re pipe, we discovered a 2nd issue which was a cracked 3" cast iron drain tied into an upstairs bath. This was a serious issue and potentially a very difficult and expensive fix. I called John and he came by the house within a couple of hours. He recommended a local plumbing company, All Phases Plumbing, based out of San Clemente. They were incredibly responsive and showed up that same day and replaced the cracked section and fixed the pipe within two hours. read more

I had a water leak in my home and the owner treated me like I was a senile senior citizen . He said I had airborne mold all over the place, but I was lucky because it was green mold and they had come in time. (He had no mold detector on him.) SCARE TACTICS He also said the way they work is with a lockbox so they could come and go on their schedule (even though I still lived in the house!) When I told people about this they said to get rid of that company immediately. When I called in a new company, they said the old company (who said they'd need to cut into the wallboard) should have removed the baseboards first to dry out the wallboard, and that this company was using dangerous air scrubbing machines because of broken handles, etc. read more
