Nope, not the experience my mother faced. My mother does not like coming here. The experience she's had here is poor. Some of the workers are unprofessional. If you value your life, do not go here!! I came in today (Nov 15) around 5pm or so feeling very ill. My head was pounding, it was numb and I was lightheaded. I spoke to one of the people at the front desk, a blonde woman, never got her name and explained I felt really unwell and was light headed and faint...she refused to speak to me unless I produced my insurance card. Unfortunately I left that at home as I was driven to Emergi Med not feeling well. There was no empathy no sympathy and absolutely no humanity!! All she was concerned about was me producing my insurance card. I ended up walking out in disgust and going to englewood hospital. I was checked in to emergency room there with blood pressure of 234 over 137. There is absolutely nothing " EMERGI" and most definitely nothing "MED" about this place. Wow!! this reviews don't even come close to my experience's at Emergimed. I've been going to Emergimed for over 5 years. I live 20 min. away and come to this office because I know everything I need done will be done in one facility on the same day and I don't have to take multiple days off of work to find other facilities for the testing requested by the doctor. The waiting time does suck but I've been to plenty of other doctor offices where the waiting time is usually an hour WITH an appointment and then the doctors need testing (X-ray, bloodwork, ultrasound, ext.) and they don't do it at they're office so then I have to look for another facility to get the testing done. need less to say I will be returning to Emergimed for my medical needs. read more

Went here several times as it was close to my house. Cliffnote: Visit First Med of NJ in Fort Lee, skip Emergimed. Pros: - I was able to find a much better medical office due to my experiences here Cons: - Extremely long wait all the time (Dr will see you in 1 hour if you are lucky) - The Doctors I have seen here are lacking in bedside manners. Terrible service, cold, and abrupt. I never felt comfortable while talking and being treated with any of the doctors here. - Front desk / other medical personnel are always a hit or miss, sometimes "OK" sometimes not - I was once denied service when I went about 1 hour before closing. No effort on their part in asking the doctors. Neutral (Con?): - First, I would like to state I am not a medical professional, but I believe like a pervious commentator stated, they are very liberal with using all their medical equipment (In a unnecessary sort of way) For example, I went in to get a physical fitness release form signed (to perform basic physical fitness activities), and they brought out all different types of equipment and machinery making the cost of the visit upwards of $400. I went to get similar forms signed elsewhere around the NY&NJ area, and none of the other practices brought out any of the equipments Emergimed used, and costed around $90 to $140. Hi, I went to see Doctor Gertrud Malmberg at Emergimed. In the past, I have never had pain from injections. But after this Doctor (mentioned above) gave me an injection, my arm was in pain, and after 5 days, the pain is less, but its still there. Beware if this Doctor gives you an injection, or make sure she is doing it right! read more

I'd rather die than go to this urgent care again. Wait time is horrendous, 2-3 hours, and they try to get as much from your insurance company, as they can get. That I don't like at all. The owner Doc there once gave me only 3 antibiotics, when you need 7-9. When I told the doc that 3 was not enough, he said, well it's not like you can't come back here for more. WOW!' Unacceptable!! wow, I phoned at 7:35 pm to get an appointment scheduled expecting to be able to contact someone has the office closes at 8pm. Instead, the call transferred thru and then was picked up and then closed. I was hung up on. So I phoned right back and got the answering service saying the office is now closed. It was 7:40pm at this point. The only Dr facility I know that closes their phone lines before their true closing time. One more reason for being less impressed with this faciltiy. read more

this was my second time there and only went because i really needed something to make me feel better asap. was a walk in and total time from when i entered and left the building was 3 hours. one doctor. i went in to get medicine to clear up my coughing and to make me feel better asap. the dr went on to suggest PRENATAL VITAMINS when i thought that was a little personal and something i would discuss with my obgyn. I do not want kids and the dr kept pushing PRENATAL VITAMINS when i really only wanted something to make my throat feel better. he also suggested i see a skin dermatologist for skin cancer... AGAIN, I WAS ONLY THERE TO RECEIVE MEDICINE FOR MY COUGHING. (the woman dr i had the first time when i went there was a lot better and nicer and gave me proper medicine for my throat and did not pester me with prenatal vitamins and pushing a dr to check for skin cancer, went there a second time in hopes this dr would be there and she wasnt) read more

Not recommended. I called during the day on 12/1/14 to make an appointment for my wife that evening. I was told that they don't take appointments for that day or the next day, but if you are there by 7 PM, a doctor will see you prior to closing at 8 PM. We arrived at 6:50 PM and was told that they had too many patients to see prior to closing and they would not accommodate us. The receptionist offered no alternative; just, "Sorry, can't help you." Thankfully, we remembered that PromptMD opened in Edgewater. We went there, got right in and found their service to be far superior to Emergimed. read more

I was there the day after New Year's for what turned out to be a bad case of bronchitis. I found the staff to be extremely friendly and hard-working. The physician, Dr. Malberg, was a great diagnostician and proceeded cautiously but effectively, giving me an injection of antibiotic to stave off pneumonia. She also gave me prescriptions, including one for a nebulizer which was enormously helpful over the proceeding few days. If you're looking for speed, it's probably not the place for you, but this is medicine--not a drive-through. It takes time to do things right and, while no one or no place is perfect--I don't think it would have been any different in an emergency room. read more

It takes a lot for me to write a bad review, but this place deserves it more than any establishment I have ever had a bad experience in. From the apathy and attitude of the front desk to the confrontational/combative tone and posture of the rest of the staff. Completely unapologetic about not taking a walk in at 6:30 even though their phone message clearly states you can go in until 7pm. I work in NYC and planned my entire day around the visit. Avoid this place! Do not go, if you have an option to go to another medical center! I called in to schedule an annual check up, and they told me to come in right away, as they are not busy. I waited for about 20 min upfront, then they asked me to go to examination room, where I waited for another 20 min. All that time I was listening to a doctor discussing vacation plans with a colleague in the hallway. Isn't it why I was waiting? I stepped out to ask how long should I wait, and they told me they don't know as there are still 4 patients in front of me. I just left. Why would you tell me to come if you cannot see me right away? I could come another day/time. Now I will just find another doctor. read more

The doctors have nice bedside manners and are weel versed in their knowledge of their medical fields- the downside to this place is the rude, obnoxious, unhelpful and callous support staff- from receptionist to techs to nurses. The problem with this place is their office manager Pat - never around to do her job and check on the performance of the support staff. Seriously, HIPAA rules FORBID patient's call on the speakerphone in the vicinity of the general patient waiting area. Patient's privacy is not protected by the staff - staff unwilling to assist with phone calls - staff hang up on patients - staff place patients on hold for 15plus minutes - appointments are lost - patient's files are lost - such a shame. Get rid of Pat and implement a new overhaul on the support staff!! read more

Ok, I agree with the other reviewers here regarding the pace of this Urgent Care Facility, it is slow, however one thing I would recommend is going just a few hours before closing time to avoid even longer waits. While I have been a patient previously here at Emergimed, it seems that once you stop showing up after a few years your file is completely disregarded. I had to fill out new paperwork again(i didn't question it which i probably should have, but whatever...). Good thing I went when there was no one there so it didn't take long to enter. The wait for the doctor after the nurse taking my BP & temperature was a bit long(15 minutes is a bit excessive in my opinion). When i did see the doctor however, i made it very clear that i may have a skin rash that got infected, and when I showed the rash that was progressively worse, the next steps were fairly quick and simple. Got antibiotics, pain medication for an abscess(which the doc sterilized and covered with antibiotic ointment and a patch) and had blood work for testing. To get my blood drawn was an additional 15 minute wait(good thing i live close to a pharmacy and just made it to get my prescriptions in time) but that was simple, very friendly nurse. At discharge, it got a bit strange, only because when I paid my copay, the cc device had an issue getting a receipt printed(no it wasn't out of paper, apparently the total was giving it fits...SMH. Oh and from a previous visit, if you pay cash...you'll need to pay exact otherwise getting change will be a hassle LOL). I'll admit, if you need to go somewhere, I'd suggest going to the ER at your nearest hospital. "Urgent" service here is not the case, but for all the times I've been here, the doctors have been quick to diagnose and with effectiveness for albeit minor issues. Seriously though, don't go 1st thing in the AM, wait til the end of the day or go at the end of the week(the place is not as packed). Some of the doctors are friendly(i truly feel they need younger medical professionals, all of them are over age 55), as far as the staff, it really depends on who you encounter. This place gets a pass but only if you are a local Cliffside resident and have less serious issues to diagnose, otherwise, look elsewhere. read more

I'm surprised this place is still in business. Like previously described in other reviews, it is filthy, the employees give you the run around and the Drs. are incompetent. If the physicians had a complete understanding of medicine they wouldn't need to run extensive tests and try to pad the bills. They have misdiagnosed my kidney stones twice as back spasms. Any opportunity I get to discourage people to seek medical attention at this facility I do. However, today was an all time low. I don't usually write reviews but the word needs to get out that this faculty does not have the best interest of its patients. My mom had an appointment at noon to get clearance for surgery that is scheduled for Wednesday. The guy at the front desk told her it would be a few minutes and she would be going in. My mom had another Drs. appointment at 3 to see her endocrinologist who manages her diabetes at 3. At 1:30 she still hadn't gone in at 2:30 she still wasn't seen. She kept reminding the "receptionist" her appointment was at 12 and she had been sitting there for over two hours, when she was told she would be seen in a couple of minutes. She left a little before 3 to make her other appointment. When she came back she told the front desk if her turn had come up, they told her she walked out and would have to wait again, when in actuality she had an appointment at 12. She was called to the back because they had messed with her all afternoon and she was so upset with the situation her ekg came back abnormal and she was not cleared for surgery. Dr. Hamada an apathetic, heartless, greedy "physician" who has horrible bedside manner, who could care less that a patient waited over 5 hours to be seen, and her labs came back abnormal bc she was given the run around. When she was done with emergimed it was 6 pm, she was frustrated and enraged without clearance and no one tried to rectify the situation. So thank, but no thank anymore. read more

Its like an assembly line there and count on waiting while you are there - been here two times to give it the benefit of the doubt but its worst than the ER. The staff is inefficient; it lacks compassion; it is a grotesque joke to say that they are health care workers and in the business of healing. Furthermore, check out the doctors' credentials. You could earn a better medical degree just surfing the net. To put it bluntly, you might expect this level of care in some 3rd world country ruled by gangsters. However, in metropolitan NYC??? I would give it minus stars if I could. Unless you are dying and can't help it DO NOT GO HERE! The staff is extremely rude and unprofessional. If they don't know an answer to your question they hang up the phone on you. They don't give you a chance to talk and talk over you. You are always put in hold when calling and when they do pick up they are UNPROFESSIONAL and RUDE!! We paid for a service over a week ago and it is a nightmare receiving the product from them. OK, so not a total waste of time! I waited forever to see a doctor but in most cases you do when you don't have an appointment. The place looked pretty clean, at least the room i was in, and the staff was helpful. I got to do everything i needed in one facility which it was nice compared to other places. The rating average is 2 stars and should be lower - because there is no option for 0 stars. rude and patronizing receptionists. They lie you in the face. Receptionist call me honey as a way to put me down. They tell you that you are soon to be called in and then you have to wait another 3 hours. Waiting time is 2 to 4 hours and another 2 hours in room untill a doctor will come to see you. This place is understaffed - usually there are between 20 to 50 patients in waiting room and only 2 doctors. last month (Dec. 2013) I went for a bloodwork + ECG. come in 8:15am and left around 2:30pm. I didn't wand to come for results analisys since it will consume another day. I called Jan . 6, 2014 and asked them to mail the results to me. On Jan. 15, 2015 I called them and I was told they didn't have the time to mail it. I filled a complaint with the NJ Board of Medical Examiners and suggest to each one of you to do the same. read more

The internal medicine (primary office) clinic is a joke. This place is HORRIBLE. You wait for up 3 hours for pretty much nothing. The doctors walk around like zombies. You wait 3 hours to be asked questions and diagnosed without a full check up. I could be a doctor if that were the case. Most importantly, the staff is EXTREMELY RUDE. They have attitudes and make me wonder why are they in that field if they are miserable. This is not based on a one time experience. I've been going to this clinic on and off for 10 years (stupid me, I know). You call and they don't answer and when they do answer they put you on hold anywhere between 5-15 min (not kidding). Is there a "below zero or star". This is the worst "medical (?) facility ever! Yesterday was the second time I had gone there....1 1/2 years ago... and saw the worst doctor ever. When I went in yesterday I told the receptionish (who actually agreed with me) that I did NOT want to see this (?) Obese, no personality, person - my Vet takes better care of my pussycat. After waiting 1 hour they took me into a very small room and there I wited another 1/2 hour and then I that doctor walked by my room and I knew at that time no one listened to the fact I did not want him to take care of me. Well he walked in my room and "Mr. Personality" said "what's wrong and I told him my I couldn't hear out of my left ear. He looked in and didn't say anything. I asked if it had to be flushed and he said 'yes'./ He put a little 'spit bowl' under my ear and proceeded to POUR fluid in my ear, over and over, which spilled all over the front of me. I was soaked but he did not say a word just for me to see an ENT. Left the name of another Dr. and walked out. I was outraged (needless to say). I went to the front office and asked someone to call the doctor suggested and after dirty looks from the office help (who were too busy eating cookies, finally got someone to call. The doctor that was suggested did not do the procedure that needed to be done so she tired another which fortunately was the wonderful doctor I just came back from seeing. If anyone needs to go to a doctor in the Bergen County, NJ area do not go there - for your own sanity. First - the doctors and medical staff are wonderful. I've seen Drs. Lopez and Longo and a friend sees Hamada. They take their time with you, listen, and offer great care. But getting to see them is horrible. The front desk is the worst. I don't know what their "mission statement" is, but it certainly isn't to help the patient. If I'm lucky I will be taken in to an examining room and be seen by a nurse and then a doctor within 1/2 hour of my appointment time (Thursday evenings seem to be a good time). At other times, you can wait for hours even with an appointment and get no help from the front desk. Last week I had a day off mid-week so I made a 9am appointment. By 10am I was still sitting in the waiting room. When I told the receptionist that I had been waiting an hour for an appointment and I had other things to do, she just shrugged. Another time I was home with severe stomach problems and couldn't be away from the bathroom for more than a few minutes and could barely move otherwise. I called Emergimed and asked to speak to a doctor. The woman on the phone insisted that I had to come in, no matter that I could barely get out of bed. Didn't even see if she could make an exception. So, if you can find another doctor's office, do it. read more

Went in with my husband because he had been sick for a week with a bad cold. He wanted to be checked because he was still feeling sick and feverish. On the website it says "no appointments needed if you arrive 1 hour before closing" . We get there close to 7 pm and we're told he can't be seen because doctors are backed up and they aren't accepting walk ins anymore. So my question is....Why are you called Emergimed if you turn away patients that need urgent care. Never going back again because of false advertisement and terrible front desk service. read more

This place is great for Old people or people without a job. During the week they take appointments, but they take walkins ahead of people with appointments, so they have to wait in line. Plan to spend about 2 hours if you have an appointment, more if you don't. I tried going during my lunch break, but they made me wait 40 minutes and then even longer in the room. Oh yeah. And if you cannot stand watching FOX News, like me, then bring headphones because staff are not allowed to change the channel. read more

Ive called several times too book appointments or even to get my records and they either talk to me rudly or decide that they will put me on hold for more then 10 minutes and then hang up on me. The doctors are top notch there, but the front desk service is a bit curt, although not rude. If you call in, expect to wait about 5 minutes. Walk-ins are the norm here, and depending on the day, expect to wait about 30 minutes or more. Their official wait time is 1 to 4 hours before you see a doctor. read more

I thought this place had gotten better since a few years ago when I last had to go, but I was wrong. This morning I called to ask if the doctor would write me a prescription of an asthma spray that my family doctor had prescribed years ago. That turned into the rude female on the phone yelling at me and saying that i have a problem with understanding ... They are rude, and do not care about their patients. I've never had a problem with the doctors but the women who sit all day behind the glass that is always closed need to get different jobs, or at least an education in customer service. read more

Went to Emergimed yesterday, after waiting 1 1/2 hours to be seen, was diagnosed with the Flu. Dr. Fishbien (who I personally like) said that she didn't need to write a prescription for me because the staff at front desk would contact my pharmacy and it would be ready when I got there. WELL that didn't happen. It is now the next day and the incompetent staff still has not contacted the pharmacy...my pharmacist had to call them. I have had enough. I have been a patient for 14 years and this past year has been the worst. I DO NOT RECOMMEND that you go there....I will not be going back. The first time I went there I waited for about two hours before anyone took me in. I went to Dr Malmburg to talk about being on birth control to which she just prescribed it to me and explained absolutely nothing. About a month or two in I got my period when I wasn't supposed to and on the days I was suppose to I never did. I called her to see if this was normal to which she asked if I took a pregnancy test. When I said no she told me to come in. Thank god I wasn't pregnant but then she had the audacity to yell at me for following the instructions on the packet when she never explained anything in the first place. Recently, 6 months later, (which again I didn't know I was suppose to go back and fill the script) I've been back and forth between talking to the pharmacy and the receptionist at the office, and they don't return your phone calls or the pharmacy's by the way, I finally got in touch with one of them named Wanda. Wanda was no help, yelled at me and called me a brat. Yes I was frustrated because I couldn't get in touch with anyone over the past couple of days and this is the second day now that I haven't taken my medication and I'm starting to freak out because even though I've been having safe sex it's not a guarantee that I won't get pregnant but that is no excuse to talk to anyone especially a patient that way. I work in the beauty business and when someone is freaking out about something, not as serious as medical, there is a certain way to talk to them and try and accommodate them in the best way you can. I have never yelled at a client and told them that that's their problem not mine and called them names. Wanda if you're reading this, you should be fired, have your license taken away and consider anger management. The only person that made me feel somewhat okay last week was Nicole and I wish that's who I would've spoken to today. When I spoke to her she understood my urgency said she would "okay" the prescription for this month and help me set up an appointment so I can get a new prescription. Unfortunately she wasn't there today and I had to deal with "Wanda" but she didn't want to give me her name probably knowing that I would complain about her by our conversation/argument so that may or may not be a pseudonym. The moral of my review is if you want to be neglected, confused and verbally abused this is the place for you! read more
