For the record, I'm a regular patron of Weston's because I shop there for my wife. There are many things to love about this small local shop. They are one of the few places near us that sell Boar's Head deli products. Also, my wife is a big fan of the regular, spicy and sweet ground sausage they stock. The people who work there are kind and super helpful. They taught me the difference between Wisconsin and Vermont cheddar (creamy vs. sharp). They have a fantastic wine and beer selection, and some interesting hard ciders as well. The clerk I spoke to was an encyclopedia of beer knowledge, plus he didn't tease me for being the only resident of Maine who hates IPAs. I'm disappointed that someone felt compelled to write a 1 star review for this small, local shop because they had a disappointing mincemeat pie. As a regular shopper of Weston's who has interacted with everyone who works there, I would be surprised if they deliberately mislead someone about a product. It's a shame they refuse to come back because in addition to everything else I mentioned, Weston's also offers a great customer loyalty program.

I provided my address. No check ever arrived. ORIGINAL REVIEW: We had been searching for someone who sells Tourtière (French Canadian Meat Pie) and found that this place allegedly did. We bought 2 but found out when we got home that it was not Tourtière Pie. They sold me something that looked brain matter grey with bits of darker grey and orange chunks. Absolutely disgusting. I went back the next day to return them. When I tried to inform the kid behind the counter, he became argumentative and defensive stating that that is Tourtiere Pie and that is what it's supposed to look like. He questioned where I was from, I informed him that I grew up in Maine and have eaten it thousands of times. This is not what I wanted and paid for. I wanted my money back...that's all. Still wanted to argue.. telling me to take it up with the people who bake the pies for them...that's the pie he grew up eating. I asked him to google images so that he could show me one that looked grey and contained orange "meat." It is not out there. He eventually stopped arguing and went to the register and clicked a few buttons seemingly to reimburse my debit card. The funds never were returned according to my bank records. I encountered some tough times and went to go get a meat package, and I found out that the current owner bought Fuller's four years ago, and my gift certificate was from before the sale. So my $150 gift certificate is now worthless when I could use it the most. I spoke with the owner and he said that they do not honor any of the previous gift cards even though they bought the store, clients, reputation, store name, etc. Needless to say, I do not recommend this store, and will never be going back. I also wanted to caution all customers to think twice before you buy a gift certificate there, because if it changes owners again, you will be paying a lot of money for a useless piece of plastic. The store will take all the previous clients, but won't honor it's previous obligations, so that is $150 of my grandmother's money into the garbage can. Buyer beware!

There is no kitchen, but a small prep area with electric griddles. My wife ordered the lobster roll, which they were willing to swap the brioche hot dog bun for sour dough sliced bread. They carefully weigh out their lobster and lightly dress it with mayo prior to putting on the bread. My wife enjoyed it, but said it's not a lobster roll she would ever get from them again. I had the crab role which had plenty of shredded crab meat, but very light on the mayo and I felt underwhelmed. The place was worth trying, but not something I would go out of my way to purchase from again. You do get a bag of chips with your meal so there is a positive note.
