Early in recovery, my stamina was very limited, and when she removed my sutures, she let me take breaks and even let me sit when I felt dizzy while removing the sutures. Tanya - Anesthesiologist She was funny, knowledgeable, and compassionate. I told her that I have severe anxiety about surgery, and she made sure I received medication before we walked to the OR. She also gave me her personal number in case I had medication-related questions. Sophia Sophia is the friendly face who greets you when you arrive. Since I fly in from out of town, she has worked with me to schedule appointments around my flights, which has been incredibly helpful. Here's all the things about my experience and the little details I wish I would have known... First off Dr Kohan is such an artist. His transparency and communication is amazing during visits. I appreciate that he level sets expectations out the gate. If he doesn't think he can do something he will let you know, but this doctor has an eye and skillset that cannot be ignored. So many doctors want easy cases, and their work doesn't even come out amazing. Dr Kohan is committed to getting you as close as you want to your ideal form, without compromising safety. I requested a virtual consultation and his staff got back to me within 48 hours with a price estimate and schedule availability. He had a last minute opening two weeks later, and I put my deposit down. I was confident with my decision, even before our in person meeting that Tuesday, 3 days after placing my deposit, I'm highlighting this because the timing was amazing. My confidence came from going down rabbit holes on realself and multiple Facebook groups. His results were awesome, and the feedback from his clients was pretty much like this, glowing reviews and a sense of gratitude for having him as a surgeon. I didn't feel rushed during our in person consultation. He provided very detailed information made sure we were on the same page expectation wise and then proceeded to over deliver on his results. I knew the way everything lined up, he was meant to be my surgeon and I was going to be happy with my results. Pricing: is he the cheapest no, but there are people with less than half his ability that charge two to three times as much. He's made getting top quality care with top tier results accessible, without undervaluing himself. It is the perfect balance, and I'm so grateful I found him exactly when I did. I trust him so much, and will be doing my next procedure with him as well. I should also mention their anesthesiologist Tanya is amazing. She has the best energy, is so communicative, and made me feel at complete ease. I had my 1 post-op appointment the very next morning. We were both happy with the results, and I felt very cared for by his staff. Sophia was very patient with me. Now I'm 3 days post op (BBL, 360 LIPO + arm + thighs, J-Plasma) and feel amazing. I can see (despite the swelling) the direction my body is going in. I'm in a complete state of surrender when it comes to the healing stages and trust the process. Make sure you do your part on the healing: Pre-Op lymphatic massages I had 2 and 1 Pre-op Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) session) Post-Op Lymphatic Massage next day followed by HBOT. I'm doing daily sessions for the first 7 days then dialing it back to 2-3 visits a week. The front office can be a bit hectic, but Myriah is amazing. She's quick to try to get you answers on anything you need. I adore her. Day of surgery: Plan on parking under the building there is garage and valet parking in there, but the height limit for vehicles is 6'4" I believe so plan accordingly. There is also a spot out front that lets you park for an hour between 8am-2pm using the Flowbird app. It looks like it's valet but that's only during certain hours. Download the Flowbird app ahead of time. Street parking can be funky, but there's a couple parking structures a block away that can be used. Love Dr. Kohan He's amazing at what he does very gentle and kind! Will always put your needs first not a car salesman like most. Dr. Emil Kohan changed my life forever. He listened to every request and girrrrrrl did he deliver. I underwent a full mommy makeover over. Breast lift, implants, tummy tuck and a bbl. I was fortunate enough to land a phone consultation that lasted about 45 mins or so. He answered every single question I had and by then end of it I was SOLD. 11 months ago I made a decision that wouldn't only change the way I look to others, but to change how I felt in my own skin. I know many people thought I was crazy to undergo a surgery like this, but now they see why. I exude confidence like I never have before. I don't worry about how things will/won't fit me the way I want them to, when shopping. Moms, you know what it's like to try and hide the mom pouch in pictures with the family? Yeah, I did too. I no longer hide behind my Husband or kids in those photos. My main concerns were, a natural looking butt, a cute/natural looking belly button, a tummy tuck scar I could hide in a bikini, and natural looking boobs. I didn't want to look like I had work done. He heard my requests, and I got exactly that. His facility is ON Rodeo Drive with a convenient parking garage below to valet the car if you don't want to deal with finding parking. When you walk into his office the girls upfront are super helpful and the waiting area is tastefully designed. I felt very comfortable as soon as I walked in. One "negative" thing I'd like to bring up: I learned while being there, Dr. Kohan is in high demand so be sure to have some patience and not have anything else scheduled when visiting his office for post op appts. He will spend the time he needs to spend with you to make sure everything is looking good and healing correctly. So while he can potentially take a while to get to your room, just know it's because he makes sure he's giving each of his patients the adequate amount of attention that's needed. Liz was my main point of contact post op when I needed anything and she was WONDERFUL. Such a sweet soul and so helpful. Cat also helped a lot with setting up my appts and getting me all squared away the day of surgery. My nurse and anesthesiologist (I cant remember their names) were AMAZING and made me feel extremely safe and comfortable the entire time I was there. If you're debating on choosing Dr. Kohan or not for your procedure(s), quit debating. You definitely won't be disappointed! Almost one year later and I'm able to send him updated photos that he and I are both in awe over. I own a business and I look for someone who takes pride in their work, just the same as I do. An exquisite job from a doctor that not only really knows what he is doing but also cares individually for each of his clients.
