The rose croissant was a standout with the rose flavor delicate yet present in every bite, which is rare for floral pastries. It never became overpowering or faded into the background or tasted artificial.The true star of the meal, however, was the lox croissant sandwich. It was absolutely stellar and one of the best savory pastries we've had in a long time.The coffee was just okay, but that was fine because the pastries completely stole the show. The staff worked quickly despite the steady stream of customers. There is a bit of seating both indoors and outdoors, although most people seemed to be taking their orders to go ,perhaps because of the weather. If you're visiting, come for the pastries. Just a heads up: it gets very crowded and busy, so I'd recommend arriving early or going in with a little patience. They can also be ordered and shipped throughout the US. During the pandemic, Molly Renaldo found herself buying a daily macaron from her local coffee shop. She decided to use her extra time at home to learn how to make them herself. Her first pop up was in January 2021. I discovered this business at Payette Brewing Co.'s Holiday Market on 12/2/21. There were six flavors available: Hot Chocolate, Snickerdoodle,Candy Cane, Maple Bacon, Strawberry Chocolate, and Lucky Charm. For $12, I bought one of each. These macarons are sweeter than any I've had before. Personally, I prefer a macaron that is a little less sweet and more strongly flavored. But the interesting flavors will appeal to others. The macarons are nicely packaged. The two pack is the perfect size for a stocking stuffer. My favorite flavors were Hot Chocolate and Snickerdoodle. My second favorite flavors were. Candy Cane and Maple Bacon, though I couldn't taste the bacon. My least favorite flavors were Strawberry Chocolate and Lucky Charm. Both were overly sweet, to the point that I struggled to pick up any other flavors. When I closed my eyes and took a bite of each, they were barely distinguishable from one of them. They always have such a big variety of goodies. Walking in, it's hard not to get overwhelmed by all the goodies, colors and displays. We went straight to the display counter to look at the truffles and to see if they had the Dubai bar. We were the only ones in the store. It was quite weird not to see a sales associate for a good amount of time. We located the bar, she decided against the bar since she can get one local for the same price and almost double in size. We walked around the store and looked at all the fun stuff. I love how everything is so organized and clean. When you have multiple customers through out the day going in and out of a bin, it's nice to see that it's clean. I personally don't like candy in bulk cause of potential germ contamination. But honestly, I have boughten candy from this joint and I have never had any issues since they keep it so clean. There are other local grocery stores that focus on natural and clean foods, but I have found them to be more expensive than Whole Foods, which is surprising, but true. I've done the math! I haven't had much need for help from the staff there, but when I do, everyone has always been very helpful....it's usually because I can't find something, and they always point me in the right direction, with a smile. They also offer a lot of pre-packaged lunch meals, soups, salads, precooked organic chickens (although I find them to be small, and sometimes overcooked most of the time, so I usually buy a raw chicken and cook it myself at home). All in all, Whole Foods is a great place to get everything you need all in one shopping trip!

Now that it's Monday, I decided to head into Guru to grab an a fritter of the day. New week new flavor of fritter. The gentleman that helped me today was super nice! I asked him what the fruit flavor of the fritter was and I was told it's cherry again. I told him that I wanted to grab the fritter on Saturday till I found out it was cherry as well. That's when I was told it's more like flavor of the month vs. week. I'm determined to grab a fritter that my husband will like so we will just have to wait till August. We have tried fritters from every shop imaginable so I'm determined to try one from here. But today I grabbed another Hipsterberry, a seasalt chocolate glazed bar and a cereal of the day. I didn't get a chance to eat the Hipsterberry on Saturday so I will have some today! You can't go wrong with a classic chocolate bar with seasalt and a cinnamon toast crunch topped donut. All 3 donuts were killer good today! Fresh, soft and so flavorful! It's hard not to get one of every donut from this joint. They all look so good! My husband and I got to start our week off with some great treats from Guru. Looking forward to coming back and trying a different round of donuts. This is what I use as a comparison to other doughnuts. It's my baseline. This one was good, but not at the top. The outer crust was good, and the icing was the perfect amount of sweetness. The interior was just right. We also grabbed a cup of doughnut holes, which is where we struggled. They were overly sweet and fairly dry on the inside. We ended up throwing the rest out, unfortunately. My other baseline is an Apple Fritter, so if I give them a second chance, that will be my next choice!
