I was fortunate to have been given a room upgrade at the hotel where I am staying. I have a kitchenette. What does that mean? I need groceries! I love being able to fix something to eat, especially breakfast, and snack on items. I did a search and found this No Frills up the road. I came here on a Sunday morning. It was buzzing with shoppers. I had no problem finding a parking spot and walking in. This No Frills is huge. I parked where the pharmacy entrance is. If you walk down a bit, there's the main entrance to the grocery store itself. I love the variety of food items here. It puts my local store across the border in Scarborough to shame. The ice cream section is extensive. I also liked that there was chocolate milk mix close by. It brought back good memories having that stuff as a kid. I bought crustless quiches, some Stouffer's Bistro crustinis, and vanilla almond beverage. At the checkout, I had a woman who was friendly and nice. I got my PC Optimum card scanned and paid. She asked if I needed a bag. Nope, I was good. I enjoyed shopping at this store. I hope to return again soon. (445) read more

Great selection of produce. There is a butcher in the back of the store as well. Aisles are clean and well stocked. Usually not too long of a wait at the check out counter. read more

My Mother lives near this No Frills, and she has kept pressuring me to go there. "You spend too much," she'd tell me, "when you are always going to Fortino's to buy your food. You have to watch your pennies." Well, the penny no longer exists. However, I am forced to admit that my Mother is right. I should be shopping there, every time that I visit her. Living out in Pickering, I am used to some No Frills that are, to say the least, rather bare-bones and dingy. And somehow, I just can't get very enthusiastic about eating some food that I purchased at a place that looked like an ill-maintained airport hangar. Happily, Emiliano and Ana's No Frills has broken that hangar-like mould (well, somewhat). Clean, incredibly large and well stocked, with even bakery, deli, fish and meat counters, this is as great grocery store. If you can just avert your gaze from the relentless yellow, No Frills decor, then you will find great deals in a clean and well-organized space. Some of their deals are actually quite amazing, and this particular No Frills has some imported, European products that are difficult to find elsewhere. Now that I have bought my food at a very reasonable price, I will have to go back and admit to my Mother that she was right all along. If you feel like No Frills is not the place for you, try this one. I will certainly make a point of stopping there for groceries when I pass by the west end of the Gta. read more

There are DEAD fish floating around the tank with the alive ones and it looks like they have been there awhile. It is inhumane and disgusting to see! Take the dead rotting fish OUT!! Inhumane even if they are there to be eaten. At the very least, very disturbing to see as a customer. read more

What a great place to shop for groceries. MUCH cheaper than any Loblaws or Metro. Great fruits and vegetables, organic sections, etc etc. Butchers onsite and the meats are always fresh. Fish section has its own fish monger as well. What can I say, WHAT A DIFFERENCE from my old No Frills where I used to live near Ave Rd and Lawrence. Anything you need is here and it is way cheaper than any other place for groceries. Easy. Why would anyone shop anywhere else? read more

A couple of weeks ago I decided to go to this No Frills to pick up a few items for the chilly weekend ahead. As I'm walking around to select the items from my list I get a vibe like I'm being watched. I didn't put much effort into it, thinking I'm being paranoid. I'm ready to purchase my items, and I see that all the lines are long so I decided to use the self checkout. I haven't used the self checkout at a No Frills so it took me a couple seconds to get myself going. While I'm scanning, and bagging (I brought my own bags), I look up and I see a middle aged man (not sure if its the owner, or just an employee) standing to the side of me with his arms folded staring at me. It immediately made me feel very uncomfortable, and I began to scan my items faster so that I can just leave. In hindsight I should've went up to him and asked him if there was a problem. If it wasn't so cold I would've left the items, and gone to another No Frills. This is usually my go to No Frills but after my experience I will stick to the Keele, and Finch location. I walked into the store dressed appropriately for the weather with a long winter jacket, a hat, and my hoodie on and I was immediately profiled because of the colour of my skin. On my recent trip here, I observed an interaction between an employee and a customer - he (Jo) was at the door monitoring the flow of customers and she was leaving. Some of the items from her bags in the cart fell and sprawled all over the pavement. He stopped what he was doing went over to help her ... and replaced her tub of Blueberries! The price is not the only reason I travel to shop here, it is the entire experience. Jo (I don't want to use his full name) is not the only employee like this - great staff. read more

Clean store, but terrible customer service. I noticed a pumpkin on my bill, which I did not purchase. After going back to the polite cashier, waiting for her to have a break in her line and going through my entire bill, we figured out that she had charged the wrong item. To rectify the bill, I had to wait for customer service and then the manager (Samantha) a total of about 15 min. I was informed that I actually owed them $0.99. I had to either pay the extra $0.99 or leave the produce there. I guess they do not value their patrons time! read more

I was so furious with this stores return policy. Last weekend I purchased 2 packs of NN medium cheese. When I went to use it a few days later I saw that it was already getting mould even though the expiry date was a year away. I had given the second package to my son (lives in Mississauga) and called him to tell him to throw it out. I had my bill and took back my package. The girl at customer service would only refund me the one package even though she could clearly see the mould and the 2 packages purchased on my bill. I think this is horrible customer service. I have shopped at this store every week since it opened and always spend over $100. This is the way they treat their loyal neighbourhood clients??. I told the girl that I would be posting negative reviews and she didn't seem to care. Just letting everyone know that if this store sells you crap don't expect to get your money back. read more

ok so where do i get started. the stuff, ok. the people, less ok. the optrician, pure shit. the dentists, one of them is hella hot. the timmies is pretty much the only reason to go. oh and if you go into the plaza next to the no frills dont go to dollar guys because that lady will follow you around while she's talking on the home phone stalking you while you tryna shop she's rude and scary and will accuse you of murder. thats it. read more
