New pizza joint on the block. I'm an area of heavy hitters in the pizza world, Bite and Bite throws their hat in the ring amongst some of the best. Upon walking in, you feel welcomed by the staff. Positive vibes all over. We got the Brooklyn Square, I got the chicken and broccoli rabe Stromboli and my wife got a side of meatballs. Meatballs were one of the best we've had from a pizza joint. If they aren't home made, then they have me fooled. The chicken and broccoli rabe roll was phenomenal. Absolutely massive and packed with flavor and chicken and broccoli rabe. I'm also 95% sure that's fresh mootz in there as well. The Brooklyn Square was equally out of this world. Sauce was exceptionally tasty and the caramelized onions mixed in added a great flair. Crust was nice and crispy. Base was airy. Parking is street parking, but worth the block or so walk. read more

I got a Sicilian slice to go - and I loved it. The folks were nice - asking if I preferred the edge/middle. It seeemed there was a manager in the store and he was providing me a seat to wait if needed. He also gave us a menu to review for the future. The dough was perfectly chewy with a good bite. Excellent!! I would rate it a 10 if I could. Def. 10/10. The Bruschetta was superb - a must have. We ordered a White Spinach Pie, Margherita, and Grandma Pie to share. All amazing! Most welcoming owners and also the one and only Mr. Bruno is there too! If I closed my eyes I would think I was in Little Italy - the friendly atmosphere, top-quality ingredients, delicious food, and wonderful staff - nicest people. Can't say enough - a great experience! "Waiter, will my pizza be long?" "No, it will be round!" This was the old location for Chris' (sorry, but my least-favorite pizzeria in Rutherford) and I can respect someone having the audacity to open a new place a stone's throw from Casano's (which seems to get a lot of press) and just a few blocks from the likes of Song E Napule and Panebianco, among others. Walking in... the place looks much better than it did when it was Chris'. And the crew behind the counter were welcoming and it was nice to feel appreciated (let's be honest - sometimes you walk into a pizzeria and you get daggers from the lingering delivery guys and crew holding the paddles and working the dough). First bone of contention? Once again someone must've struggled with high school geometry and instead of eight (close to perfect) slices we have four massive ones and four wimpy ones. Why has this become a 'thing' the last few years? (I'm bellyaching because I'm the one that gets stuck with the teeny-tiny ones.) As for the actual pizza? "Old-school" style (thicker and more doughy) but a solid pie with a good taste and crust. Nothing fancy or groundbreaking which is fine by me. (And my kids really dug their pepperoni slices.) French fries - not only well-cooked but seasoned (so many places just give you a pile that are hot/greasy and bland). And - of course - I had to try their cavatelli and broccoli. Second bone of contention? The pasta dish was literally just cavatelli and broccoli, very little seasoning/flavor and devoid of any yummy sauce/liquid you'd hope for. Averaging the three items I ordered we're hovering around a 3.33 rating but I'm bumping that up to a 4. ("New Biz Jitters" gets the best of us.) I wish them nothing but luck but Da Mario remains my fave "no frills" pizzeria in Rutherford. read more

The place was packed when we walked in. Reminded me of an old school NYC pizzeria. Cool paintings on the wall. The staff was very friendly. I got the Calamari and they were very friendly and so were the other patrons. The Sicilian pizza was nice and crispy, the tomato sauce was really good and not over powering. The chicken fingers and fries were cooked to perfection. Overall it was a good experience. I believe they just opened this week! read more

We have tried a lot of pizza places, and sauce and dough here truly set Bite and Bite apart. Their tomato sauce is so fresh and bright. The dough (for both pizza and bread) is soft and tender while also nicely crispy and chewy. Their vodka chicken parm sandwich is the best I have ever had! Tight quarters but great atmosphere and very clean. I've tried every slice possible and even have brought home Sicilian pies and regular pies and they are all delicious. Quick service and friendly and I can't tell you that I've met more nicer people. Good luck and I'm spreading the word. Don't miss out on this Pizza gem of a place. My pizza was flavorless and the establishment is sadly racist. The brunette woman working here first made comments on my two toddlers and then assumed I was not going to pay for my meal. Out of her mouth... "With your kind... you cannot be trusted". I ended up overpaying for the poor service and pizza, but I am not tolerating that blatant racism. As an Asian American, it was a terrible dining experience. Would never want anyone else to experience that. Cancel this racist pizza place. read more

Very , very good food. Old time residents will remember Mr Bruno's from back the 80's. They are one of the original employees. So glad they are in Rutherford. Chicken parm was perfect. Baked ziti was delicious. The bread that they bake btw! Was out of this world. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. I called in an order over the phone and was told it would be ready in 35-40 minutes, which put pickup around 6:45. I arrived five minutes early and was told "maybe another 10 minutes." No problem. But an hour past the promised time, still no pizza. That's when I was finally told they hadn't even started making the two pizzas I ordered, and it would be another 25 minutes. During the hour I sat there waiting, I watched them mess up at least three other orders. The system they're using is a disaster the girl taking orders over the phone passes them to someone else, and things get lost or entered wrong. At one point, a customer just gave up and took a few slices from the case instead of waiting any longer. I understand they're new, but if you can't handle the volume, stop taking so many orders. This was an extremely frustrating experience, and I won't be returning. read more

Was walking by there and Got a Nonna slice that was ok, but orderd a delivery of the Brooklyn square pie and it was not good. Very stange crust and so sloppy you need a knife and fork, you could not pick it up. It Was not cut into slices so that was strange. We had an Italian hero there the other day and it was not terrible but uninspired. Only ate two slices of Brooklyn pie and had heartburn couple hours later, which i don't typically get. Maybe they need more time to get in a groove. For now Going back to my old standby. read more

Decided to try out their pizza...I tried the regular square pie and the caramelized onion square.. I'm super picky when it comes to pizza and most I'm not fond of...but this place..well, they got me hooked..lol..both were excellent..saucy and crispy bottom..the flavor of sauce is great..my new go to..I couldn't leave a review without also mentioned how friendly they were.
