BE SURE TO READ THE OTHER 1 STAR REVIEWS HERE. Dr…read more Hankenson did the quickest eye exam i ever had. He had me look at the little red barn and read a few lines of letters. No dilation, no eye pressure test & none of the standard questions ODs use to assess serious issues. He seemed more interested in telling my husband and i all about his Colorado road trips. Then, Dr H retrieved a copy of my prescription from another room, came back and said "everything looks great!" No details. I am 53 and i feel like my vision has declined in the past 3 years. So, i asked Dr. H if he could use my glasses to compare how much my vision had changed. "Of course!" He took my glasses & disappeared, returned momentarily & announced, "it hasn't changed much at all!" Again, he provided no data & no details, which seemed odd. The entire exam took 10 minutes, max. On the way home, i had forgotten to ask for a prescription for Bimatoprost . left a message with the receptionist. (i was surprised that i had to explain what it is!) As so many other reviews have said, the office staff is totally incompetent. The message the receptionist took was that i needed a prescription for Prazapam - a medication prescribed for insomnia & anxiety! When Dr H returned my call, he was also confused about what it was i needed but seemed more interested scolding - yes, SCOLDING - me, accusing me of YELLING at his staff on the phone. What i suspect is that this OD accused me of yelling to deflect from his own incompetence. Scolding a patient is a sure way to get them to go somewhere else as they are about to realize that this OD is nothing but a silly quack.

Office Staff clearly incompetent!! My daughter had an appointment on a Saturday and they called and…read moresaid they had to reschedule because the Doctor would be out of town. It was rescheduled for today at 4:30 and said it was for 10am. I wouldn't have scheduled at that time because my daughter is in school. Then they preceded to tell me that they had left a message saying that they no longer accepted my insurance. I received no message!!! Total waste of my time!!

We love the doctor here and have been seeing him for the past 10 years! My son is now 25 and would…read morerather see this Doctor than visit a doctor through his eye insurance. The doctor is very knowledgeable, honest, and gives great advice.

My first visit to see Dr. Fischer was phenomenal. I came in to inquire about appointments and he…read morehad an opening right then and there. That was great. I was explained that he no longer is participating in the VSP program. I paid cash for a contact lens examination and they provided information on how to get reimbursed by my insurance. Dr Fisher's staff was very kind and polite. Dr. Fischer himself was very personable and he took the time to get to know me and my optical health history. I explained that I get non prescription colored contacts and have done so for about 10 yrs. for personal and professional reasons. He laughed when I called them "lipstick for my eyes" he educated me on different brands and why I should be careful with certain ones as I'm now at a higher elevation and certain ones could cause irritation and eye damage if coming from sea level, something to with oxygen levels. He didn't know I just moved from the beach and I am so glad I was informed of this. My eyes feel much better with the new brand I'm using. I sat with him for about 5 extra minutes to give him my feedback on my visit and he had a great demeanor and was a great optometrist! I recommend him to take care of your optical needs.
