With it's tamarind straw, I felt like I was on a weekend trip to Los Angeles and not in an industrial complex in the middle of Springfield, Va. I was impressed with my visit here. The staff was friendly, the shop was spotless, and all of the fruit cups in their counter looked super fresh. They are parked near the Credit Union Bank. The family that owns and operates this business are friendly, hospitable, and super hard working. They get fresh tropical fruits daily and custom make everything to order. We had a large cup with watermelon, mango, bananas, and candied caramelized coconut. There are many fresh options to choose from. The flavor profile was so tasty and distinct, I could not put it down! This is made with fresh fruit not fake sugar syrups. The slushees come in a large styrofoam cup, and while they do put a good amount of syrup on the ice, I found the syrup to be more on the sweeter end, rather than tangy or tart; the condensed milk drizzle definitely makes the treat much sweeter; I wasn't a fan of the extra added sweetness, but other patrons loved this addition! This place is amazing! The menu was a little confusing to someone who's never had a minuta before but I eventually figured it out. I also liked that they checked that my fruit topping would contain bananas - I don't like bananas so I appreciated checking. We also got some hot food (yuca con chicharon, enredos de yuca, and pupusas) which were all really good.
