They are unprofessional and unethical. I booked a month in advance with a deposit and couldn't get a written confirmation other than a text confirming the date and rate. When I tried to get a confirmation I was told I would get a call two days in advance. I should have trusted my gut and ate the deposit and booked with another company. When I did get confirmations, they were always for the wrong amount. The three-man crew showed up and after over an hour moved the first piece of furniture out of my house, scratching the hardwood floors in the process. When they finally got to the new place with all of our furniture hostage, they demanded $1700 from my wife to start moving off the truck with the move finishing at 3:00. Two hour later than hadn't brought a single item into the new place but "staged everything off the truck. At 3:00 they extorted several hundred dollars from us to get everything in the door. With the first piece of furniture, they sent it through the wall and then treated a 100 year-old antique like a sack of floor turning in on its side allowing the shelves to bust out the glass. I found other damage after they left. I had to leave early but they browbeat my wife for a tip and then demanded a 5-star review. Casey led the crew, who were neither movers or strong, and Carter was calling the shots on the back end demanding more and more money mid-move. Book with someone else or greatly wish you did.

My daughter recently moved her furniture to a storage unit after selling her house and looking to buy a new one. Since she is single, and I'm retired, she enlisted my help getting moved. I was the primary contact for all moving issues. We used a different company (not Clean Slate) to move from her old house TO the storage unit. They were "decent" but I felt a little used and abused by their add on charges after the fact. I started looking for a different mover when it was time to move from the storage unit to the new home. All communications were via text. Clean Slate did meet another movers price and since they had so many 5 star reviews, I decided to go with them. There was one problem, they showed up an hour late. I considered giving them 4 stars due to showing up late, but that issue was offset by the quality of the two young men that did our move. Both guys were respectful and took good care of our possessions. They worked non stop for 4 hours. They even let this old man talk their ears off! I wouldn't hesitate to call them again.

I am not sure if they got busy or maybe all the employees were not trained on the company's policies. We received conflicting information, which led to many challenges with the move. There were a few added charges at the end, and the sudden request for cash before the truck would be unpacked. If you decide to use this company I suggest you get everything in writing especially any possible extra charges. To be clear we got from point A to point B it just wasn't the professional and worry-free type of move I expected.

He showed up at 12:30PM. Two-man crew, not the usual three one would expect for a three-bedroom house. Once there, moved fast. TOO fast. Mattress and box springs were loaded without coverings. Furniture was loaded without coverings or padding to prevent scratches or gouges. My load was one of five in a full-sized truck. NO attempt, save a rope, to separate one load from another, My move was 660 miles distant -- from Charlestown, IN to West Monroe, LA. Was not delivered until March 9. Gouges and scratches on an antique chest and dining table. Dirt on mattresses and box springs. Crew LOST: an antique chest, 42" flat-screen Tv, Bose speaker system, stereo receiver, and brass planter. As I write this --- three months later -- the dispute has NOT been resolved and the crew denies it loaded these items. Truck also CRUSHED an asphalt parking divider at my apartment complex, in full view of the complex maintenance staff. Berger has denied any responsibility and refuses to compensate the complex for SIGNIFICANT damage. Thoroughly devoid of any responsibility, accountability or character.
