Believe the hype! There's clearly a reason why Emmett's Cafe has a glowing 5-star rating here on Yelp -- the food is so damn good. We live in the area, but just haven't been able to make it to Emmett's until this week, since we normally don't go out for lunch. But with the sun shining and our stomachs rumbling, we figured we'd give it a shot. There's not a lot of dining space in the restaurant itself, but the patio out back is what we were drawn to anyhow, and indeed, there's seating for around 20 or so back there. Food-wise, I was drawn to the breakfast burrito, and my girlfriend decided to go for the "Emmything" -- a sandwich that has rosemary aioli, pulled chicken, white cheddar, crispy prosciutto, tomato confit and arugula. Oh, and tater tots on the side. I really loved my burrito, though the chipotle aioli has a bit of a kick to it -- next time I'll see if they can tone it down just a bit. My girlfriend loved her "Emmything" as well, and I was particularly smitten with the amazing tots that came with it. A perfect blend of crispy outside and soft inside. Neither of us had any complaints, and we definitely plan on returning. It's a big bonus that the food is "healthy," or at least "healthy-adjacent," because the flavors certainly aren't lacking. You HAVE to go check out Emmett's cafe! It just opened on high street down near German Village and it's the cutest, most delicious neighborhood cafe! It's an Aussie style cafe which means they serve their menu all day long instead of closing at like 3 or 4. Their patio out back is adorable, with string lights and many heaters for colder days. The staff is all so accommodating and they were on top of everything we needed. I ordered the Schiller bowl, which was sweet potatoes and veggies and this amazing hollandaise sauce with poached eggs! My hubby ordered the meat + tato handheld and omg his was SO GOOD. I liked the Schiller bowl and felt healthy eating it but dang the chorizo and tater tot crunch in his The menu here is extensive and they have so many options - we wanted to try it all! Small, cozy and fantastic atmosphere in the place. Eve and Avery are very accommodating hosts and work their tails off for the entire time that I saw them buzzing from the kitchen, to the coffee machine, the tables and the POS systems. I'd leave a picture of the food, but my s/o and I absolutely inhaled them lol. Great place with a front and a back patio, just make sure that if you want to go outside you make it known when you order. Glassware can't go outside :p If there was one of these in Broad Ripple I'd be there in a HEARTBEAT. I'd recommend this place to anyone who loves a good morning brew or a tasty morning meal. So happy to see a new healthyish cafe open up in German Village! (unrelated comment: please god no more german or pub food - we have enough!!). My boo and I decided to give this a try for brunch last week and we were happy with the decision! The food quality was top notch and the prices are VERY reasonable - not something you can always say for GV cafes. And look how pretty it is (see picture below). Also bonus - thank you for using mostly eco-friendly products. I hate plastic. My only "meh" comment is about the chai tea. I was craving a really well-done fancy chai tea and it just didn't scratch the itch for me. All in all, worth a try. We'll be ordering take out again soon! read more

Small trendy & delicious brunch place! We got a variety of food and drink and sat out front with our pups! It was a lovely brunch spot, and they brought the food and drinks right out too us--we didn't have to wait inside for any of it. The food itself was delicious! We tried the breakfast burrito, a few different sandwiches, the tots, and a yogurt parfait! The coffee menu is smallish (few options but all done well). My only complaint about the food/drink is that it is a bit pricey for what you get. Serving sizes are small to moderate and although Columbus is a happening brunch place you will pay more here for what you get compared to some other similar brunch spots in the city. There are a few small tables for inside seating and a few more small tables outside. It seems most people come more for the takeaway option, but not sure if that is due to lack of seating or that it's actually preferred. read more

Waking up to a coffee shop within walking distance of your Airbnb is always a great start to your morning. We walked to Emmett's for a coffee to-go and weren't disappointed. The inside was small and a perfect place to catch up with a friend, grab a coffee and go, or just sit and relax. I got the "Smooth as Butta" latte and it was perfect! My only complaint is that they don't offer almond milk, oat and whole. Otherwise, service was great and the coffee was also great! read more

This is hands down, one of the best places to get a grab and go or sit down breakfast. The ingredients are so fresh and delicious, it's undeniable! When I really love is that there is something for everyone. The men in my family don't typically eat the "avocado toast" type of breakfast. One of the best new restaurants I've tried in a long time! We enjoyed brunch on Emmett's large back patio space (with plenty of heaters next to each table). The menu was unique, fresh, and varied, and we ordered a salmon bowl, the Schiller bowl, chia rose parfait, and the kids egg & cheese quesadilla. Everything was delicious: both bowls were filling and flavorful but also felt healthy, and the parfait was sweet and light. We also ordered the ginger turmeric tea and breakfast shots-- both so good! My first visit to Emmett's Cafe and I can't wait to return!!! So positive. All staff was friendly and helpful, very welcoming. Many things on the menu looked amazing. I went with The TK since I was there wanting brunch. The focaccia bread was so tasty and perfectly crispy, the mustard was a nice subtle touch to the egg and melty cheese. The lemony arugula was absolute perfection. I've never had pickled cucumber/zucchini on an egg sandwich so it was a unique first and I loved it! I highly recommend giving it a try. The sandwich is large and I opted to eat half and take half home. The Cold Brew is also amazing - no bitterness, nicely smooth and full of flavor. The lemon bar was good but I probably won't get it again, not as much rosemary in the shortbread as I had hoped and the curd was a very very thin layer. However, the cocoa-tahini crispy is where it's at!!!! Their back patio is quaint and quiet, and a nice addition considering the interior is very small. I could see it being challenging to sit down during their peak busy hours, but I imagine everything to-go would still be delicious! Parking on the street was also easier than anticipated as well, so overall this place is highly ranked for me and I hope others check it out too! Ordering online was different, it's a new restaurant and the menu is a bit surprising (avo is avocado). Ordering ahead is wise as there is not a lot of space inside. Preorder and get whisked away to the luxurious patio with heaters to wait. They also offer curbside pickup, if close parking is found. I got the golden bar, chocolate-tahini, one handed, meat + Tati and finally the AB+J Toast. The toast was okay. The golden bar was a sweet treat. The stars were the sandwiches. The meat + Tati had perfectly cooked chorizo. Delicious pickled onions and a layer of greens. I wisely got the hot sauce on the side. The egg was a bit more runny than expected. The one handed was also a luxurious version of a morning English muffin. Not very photogenic, but oh so tasty. Again the egg was a tad runny. SO SO SO GOOD! We went on a nice day so we ate on the back patio and it was such a vibe. This location is pretty small so it is hard to find a table during peak hours on the weekend. We went later in the day and found a spot easily! We got an oatmilk latte, salted Carmel cold brew (a seasonal flavor and it was magical), the handheld breakfast sandwich (which was cooked to perfect), tots (with everything but the bagel seasoning on it-- I mean COME ON) & the breakfast burrito. Nice location and space. Not a lot of seating inside but they have a nice outdoor patio in the back. You order at the counter and get a number and they'll bring the food out. If you order coffee you pick it up at the counter. I am rating a 2 strictly for having a nice patio and the coffee was good. The service and food is not great in my opinion. If they are experiencing long wait times I wish the host would have told us beforehand for how long the food would take because it took over an hour to get our food and we all got it at different times. We were sitting outside on the patio but got cold so we moved inside. I was the first to order and last to receive my food and the server didn't even bring it to the table she just left it at the counter. Even though I got the food as soon as it was ready my food was cold. Couldn't even get a hot breakfast sandwich that took over an hour to get and it wasn't even tasty. I barely ate half of it and ended up getting food elsewhere. I got the TK, someone else in my group got the breakfast burrito and they seemed to like it but didn't have enough salsa to go with. Another in my group got the lox but felt sick after the salmon was too salty. They also don't have a water station or area for silverware inside. I guess they keep them in a jar at the tables but the table we were sitting at was empty and didn't see any on the counter. Ended up going back out to the patio to get the packaged silverware there. This was my first time going and probably the last. I don't think the wait and food quality is worth the price. read more

Love Emmett's cafe! I've been here several times and love the flavors. My go to is the one handed breakfast sandwich and iced oat milk latte. The one handed is a perfect breakfast sandwich on the go, but is elevated by the aioli sauce. The oat milk latte is one of the smoothest tasting coffees with a creamy and not overpowering oak milk. Sometimes I order ahead online, or other times I go inside and place my order to go. The inside is pretty small, I wish they had a bigger indoor space. They also have a nice sized outdoor space in the back and a few tables out front, but of course that's weather dependent. Parking is free on the street too. First of all, Emmett's is such a cute place! I love the Emmett's sign inside. We went on the weekend around 1 and were able to get a spot outside. I got the breakfast burrito and my fiancé got the meat + tato. The breakfast burrito comes with egg, cheese, prosciutto, tots, avocado, and chipotle sauce. It was sooo good! My favorite part was the sauce and the crispy tots. I also got a drip coffee. To be honest, the coffee was not my favorite- very bitter. One downside of Emmett's is that it is a little pricy for what you get. My burrito was $11 and it did not come with any sides. Came for breakfast on a cold Sunday morning. At the moment, the weekends are take out only. No big deal but I can see this being a cute little dine in spot. The decor is minimalist...almost Scandinavian. Simple, I like it. We both had the breakfast burritos. I have to admit I was surprised by how small they were for the price. It was super delicious and really enjoyed it. I do feel it could be larger or come with a side for a $12 item where all the ingredients are smooshed together. Minus one star for portion size. We flew in from out of state this morning, and after doing some research on Yelp we thought Emmett's would be the perfect first stop. It was really slow in the restaurant when we arrived and we ordered two sandwiches and two coffees. After waiting 45 minutes we started to worry that they forgot about us. We were about to go back inside to say something when another employee noticed us and asked if we were still waiting on food. Not even 2 minutes later they brought us our sandwiches, which must have been sitting around for 30+ minutes because it was all ice cold and soggy/stale. Unfortunately our $40 meal was inedible. This lovely, trendy, small, modern cafe with the entrance located on High Street on the edge of The Brewery District and German Village was a delightful find on a chilly Autumn Sunday afternoon. There are only a few tables inside for staying which is a good use of the space so there is room to order at the counter and stand aside to wait for to-go orders. While there are a couple of bistro tables out front of the cafe, the outdoor seating thru the back of the building is a quieter space from the street noise. Currently, even when staying to eat, the staff deliver your food order packed to-go/contactless to your first-come available table. This is my kind of food. Fresh. Healthy. Quality. Tasty. I ordered The Lox sandwich. All the ingredients were of the finest quality. Their take besides the foundational smoked salmon and cream cheese included a perfect slice of a pickled beet and perfect layer of egg, arugula, and red onion between two thick soft slices of focaccia bread. My friend ordered the Chorizo Bowl (quinoa, poached egg, roasted mushroom, tomato confit, avocado, pickled red onion, goat cheese, chipotle aioli). Amazing. Came here for a breakfast/brunch with peeps. I got the One-Handed and it was amazing! Great crisp English muffin with some creamy eggs and aioli on the inside was exactly what I needed. Someone else in the crew also got the Meat+Tato and that also looked fantastic - definitely going to try that next time.
