Burger and Fry Combos - Big Brunchy
    Kenneth K.

Amazing food. My father loves this place by his work and can eat anything due to being kosher-ish. I ordered it for me and my dad to share. We got a collection of the various pancake bites and brunch wraps and burgers that we enjoyed all day long until dinner time.

4th & State is one of my favorite vegan restaurants in Columbus! It has nice diner vibes and the service is great! Their menu has a so many fantastic options too! For breakfast/brunch they awesome sweet treats like pancake balls and s'mores French toast, and delicious savory dishes like a crunchwrap and a breakfast sandwich! For their regular menu, their nachos are unbelievable; they have an incredible vegan queso! They also have so many yummy pizza options and tons of other tasty items too! Whether you're looking for amazing vegan food or just an amazing meal in general, you should definitely check 4th & State out!

Excited for all vegan diner. We got a range of food. The menu options are all day. Good amount of food so we got 3 plates for the 4 of us. Our waitress was nice. Food took a bit to get ready, but made fresh and considering it's the whole menu they serve all day, I am fine with it. Diner is bright and not crowded. Only negative is the music is a little loud. It's EDM type music.

Every time I come here I just love it so much. It's awesome to see so many vegan items on the menu, makes it hard to choose. I honestly always come for breakfast, it's just so good. And my friend who met me this time isn't vegan but loved her vrunchwrap. I got the gluten free pancake breakfast, with those fake eggs that are so delicious, and on recommendation of our waitress (who was so friendly and helpful) got the hashbrown with the soyrizo sauce added. I loooooved it, so worth the $2 up charge. We got adult drinks this time. Delicious. I'll be back again!

Given that it is a completely plant based experience--I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of menu options. They have burgers, salads that can be made into wraps, milkshakes, and a full breakfast menu. Service is quick (maybe too quick? I felt a little rushed even though I came alone at 7:30 and they don't close until 8:30), and the atmosphere feels a little sterile to me (I think it could use more color), But still, I'm giving it a 5/5, as the food was delicious and I don't eat a ton of vegan food.

"Family Owned Vegan Restaurant in Downtown Columbus, Ohio." This statement alone sparked my curiosity while on a business trip to the Midwest. 4th & State is a wonderful place in America's heartland offering up traditional diner fare made from plant based ingredients. I read all of the Yelp reviews and decided to walk over from my downtown Columbus hotel to check it out. It's easy to find (on the corner of South 4th Street and East State Street), as you'll see people waiting outside to be lucky enough to snag one of the limited dining room table seats. Be prepared to wait with other hungry and health-conscious customers. Even as a solo diner on a late Sunday morning, I was told the wait would be about an hour. I was able to leave my name and received a curtesy call 45 minutes later once my table was available. My friendly server came over to offer me something to drink, asked if I had any questions and presented some of the specials for the day. After taking several moments to pour over the great-sound menu, I decided to go with the Statehouse Breakfast ($18) - Two pancakes or French Toast served with a choice of breakfast sides. In my case, I went with the seasonal Cinnamon Apple French Toast, with Hashbrowns (GF/SF) and Seitan Sausage. Service was very attentive, although customers should know that during peak busy times, you will wait a good 20-30 minutes for your order to arrive. This has nothing to do with efficiency, as the food is served up hot, fresh and tasty - it's simply a matter of good food takes time to prepare. Finally, my food arrived (with an smile and an apology for the wait from my server). It was well worth the wait. The seasonal Cinnamon Apple French Toast was spectacular. The caramelized apple bits mixed with an outstanding whipped cream and syrup was absolutely incredible. The toast itself was wonderfully soft and tasty, with just a slight hint of crisp on the crust corners. Add an extra $1 to the Statehouse Breakfast if you choose to add the Seasonal option(s) to your order. The Hashbrowns (GF/SF) were also quite good. Great crisp outer texture with delicious soft potato interior, all without the guilt. The plant-based meat substitute Seitan Sausage links were also tasty. The prices are on par with what you would find at other diners, but without the greasy spoon guilt. Come check out this family-owned diner, as this clan knows how to create an amazingly unique dining experience that will delight the tastebuds of everyone that visits.

I usually order takeout or delivery from them but we decided to go in and see the place. Very cute and the service was wonderful. Our server was so sweet and thoughtful. My friend go the burrito bowl and said it was amazing. I got the loaded tots and the buffalo chick sandwich. The sandwich was phenomenal. The tots were ok, they unfortunately didn't taste super fresh. I have to say, I HATE cold food that's supposed to be hot and these were flavor-wise very good but temp was cold. I've ordered from here many times through delivery also and it's always good. Will be back!

I loved everything about this place! I got a burger on gluten free bread that was so fluffy and delicious. The burger tasted just meaty enough and was great dipped in vegan ranch. They did forget a couple things but everything we did get was so delicious. I added on a strawberry milkshake that was super thick with vegan whipped cream on top. Can't wait to come back!

Loaded fries. We got two orders!

TOP TIER. The location is convenient. The atmosphere is cool. The people, staff and guest, are helpful and friendly. The menu is amazing. The options are great. My food was delicious. EVERYTHING is vegan. I can't wait to come back with my sons. I bought two orders of the loaded fries, potato skins, and cheezy garlic bread. Chef's kiss!

We found this place just down from the theater and loved everything we had! There are very few places where we could order anything on the menu as vegetarians! The chicken parmesan sandwich was amazing! Drinks were good and we did street parking close by. Will def be back anytime we are in downtown Columbus!

Easy 5 stars. This place excels in every way. The food is top tier, the servers are awesome, the vibe of the interior is cozy and welcoming, the owner is dope. Don't think too hard, just go try it out. I recommend their pancakes, and burgers, ooh and their pizza, and their breadsticks, ooh and their..... see what I mean? All fire. I gotta go back soon

I went here for lunch today while in town on business. We were close by at the topiary garden and decided to eat at this place. I brought two non-vegans with me, one was lactose intolerant so thrilled she could get a root beer float, and the other had never been to a vegan restaurant in their life. No joke, he said "this is the best burger I have ever eaten in my life!" What a compliment!! I had a bbq chik'n pizza and it was delicious. I cannot wait to come back, it was the highlight of the trip for me! The diner is so cute and the staff was friendly and helpful.

It took about 15 minutes to get the bagel and I'm watching multiple people who ordered after me with multiple items get their food and leave while I ordered a single bagel. I eventually got annoyed and went up there and asked him what happened to my order and I guess they misplaced it or something I don't know, but eventually, my food came out I hope because it took so long it would actually be toasted to Golden, but I actually had to take the cream cheese off and see if they toasted it at all. It definitely wasn't toasted golden and again definitely not extra cream cheese. I don't feel like the order is ever that difficult but clearly they do what they want and you're just supposed to accept it. Definitely not gonna keep going here and giving them a chance after chance for them to drop the ball.

We started with a Hot Apple Cider, topped with maple-infused whipped cream and cinnamon, along with a couple of hot coffees. The cider was warm, comforting, and full of cozy fall flavors. Unfortunately, the self-serve coffee station wasn't kept stocked, and after waiting quite a while for a refill, we eventually gave up. For breakfast, we ordered two Mushroom Frittatas, a Fresh Buttermilk Biscuit, and a side of Housemade Breakfast Sausage. The Mushroom Frittata featured three hearth-baked eggs with roasted mushrooms, sweet onions, and Gruyère cheese, served alongside breakfast potatoes and a peppery arugula salad. It was flavorful, hearty, and incredibly satisfying. Although I informed the staff about my peanut allergy, I was surprised to find the crispy breakfast potatoes on my plate, which left me uncertain whether the allergy request had been fully communicated to the kitchen. The Fresh Buttermilk Biscuit, served with strawberry preserves, was one of the highlights of the meal. It was flaky, buttery, and wonderfully moist, pairing perfectly with the sweet preserves. The Housemade Breakfast Sausage consisted of two peppery pork patties that were juicy and well-seasoned, making a great accompaniment to the rest of the meal. Overall, we enjoyed a delicious and filling breakfast with fresh, high-quality ingredients. While I wish the coffee station had been monitored more closely and that greater care had been taken regarding my food allergy, the Mushroom Frittata and fresh biscuit alone make Northstar Café worth returning to.

We…read morespent over $80 on a to-go order that included two Gina's Gem, a big cheese pizza, and a salad. The pizza arrived cold but was still edible. Unfortunately, the Gina's Gem was nothing like what was advertised. I was expecting warm, crusty bread with a roasted cheese dip on the side so you could tear pieces of bread and dip them into the cheese. Instead, the cheese had already been spread directly onto the bread and toasted together. Because of that, the bread lost the texture you would expect--it wasn't crusty or dippable at all. It ended up soft, almost soggy, and the cheese was baked onto the bread rather than being a dip. The whole appeal of the dish was supposed to be the warm bread with the roasted cheese to dip into, and that part was completely missing. Included with the bread was a hot honey that missed the mark on being "hot" and some kind of jam. These options just made everything even more soft....which should have been impossible. The salad was actually the best part of the meal - even though it was a bit spicy. I've always had good experiences here in the past, so this was a big letdown--especially for the price. I just wish the to-go version of the dish matched how it's described, or that expectations were set correctly when ordering. Unfortunately, this experience made me lose all trust in ordering from here again. I can't believe we waited until exactly 3pm (when they opened) to order this.... You could really taste the cinnamon and coconut sugar brûlée, which was a nice differentiator. Solid waffle. The Seitan was great, deep flavor and nice crunchiness. The soy was decent but it was basically soy with some batter, not nearly as much flavor. I am not vegan but I'd definitely come back to explore more of the menu. Wasn't the best one I've had but pretty close for it not being on the menu. Filet: 7/10 - a little Gamey but it was cooked well as it should be. Didnt have anything unique about it just was don't like a filet should be done. The carrot was cooked to perfection which brought her review up. The fried potato was also amazing best part of the whole dish, especially with whatever spread they put on it. The fillet was not the highlight the carrot and the potato were. Hamachi Crudo: 3/10 - we are sushi snobs so take this with a grain of salt. It could totally be something that you love, but I hate when somebody brings out a piece of Nigiri or sashimi and it's warm. This dish has potential the flavors around it were very fresh but the hamachi was room temperature when it should be ice cold and the flavors felt like an after thought. Menu: 4/10 - nothing to write home about when it comes to the options. A very corporate get what you expect type restaurant. Nothing revolutionary here the demographic when we went was very old and corporate. Price: 5/10 - $340 plus idk... I feel like this was worth $180-$220 personally for the price I never complain about price anywhere I go out to eat, especially fine dining, but this place was overcharging for what they're actually giving for sure. Overall: 6.5/10 - I would recommend this place to someone who doesn't really care about Food that much and is wowed by like an STK or a more chain like "fancy restaurant" I was hoping to get more of a small boutique very intentional experience at this restaurant just based on the outside by the field, but it definitely feels like they've cut a few corners when it comes to building a really unique food experience I would love to come back and give it another try because maybe I just came at an off time.
