    Bolillo

Came for breakfast on Saturday around 10am. A couple tables and hightop seating by the register and an upstairs area. Not busy at all! We sat upstairs. They had pictures on the wall, flashing lights, and were playing pop music. They give complimentary bolillo with cream cheese. Very buttery, soft and warm! For drinks, my friend and I tried the latte with churro syrup. Delicious! I saw a lot of people ordering horchata and margaritas but we wanted something warm since it was cold outside. For food, I got chilaquiles with salsa roja. Nice and spicy! Our server said the green salsa is not as flavorful and gave me some on the side to try. Not bad either, a bit more watery so I was glad I chose red. My fried chose the speedy breakfast: eggs, rice, pico, avocado. And she added a conchanita on the side as she wanted bread. The conchanita was delicious! Not overly sweet. Prices were reasonable for the portion. I left the restaurant pretty full. Likely because of the bolillo. For two people, it was a lot of bread! Service was good. A couple people servers but they weren't busy. Super friendly and didn't rush anyone at all. Parking around here is parallel. Not free either. But I got a spot less than a block away.

Vibes - 4 Service - 2. We waited 38 minutes on a moderate Tuesday night. Never got water refills Food - 3 Starter chips don't have a lot of flavor and the salsa is more of a pico de gallo. Not a good first impression. Shrimp burrito was good. Clean, high quality ingredients. The filling was not mixed and the chunks were much too large for a burrito (in my opinion). I had the taco week burritos in chorizo, beef and brisket. The taco beef was spiced really well. The brisket had a nice slow heat build but was dry. The chorizo was fragrant but not memorable. Black beans were delicious. Value for money 4- well priced for the ingredients and quality. Overall the freshness of the ingredients is the winner.

Didn't even know El Carajlllo existed until today but will definitely be back. It's in the old Woodhouse building, adorable back patio we took advantage of. Happy hour until 7 meant we got two Modelo bottles for the price of one (and he brought them both at the same time). Only saw one employee the whole time, but he warmly greeted us and was the server too- he was great! Free chips and salsa, but we ordered queso too and agreed it was some of the best we've had in the city. Lots of vegetarian options, I went for the mushroom dish and it was great, yummy flavors. My friends got the chicken burrito and ceviche, we were all very happy with the meals, service, atmosphere and all agreed we'd definitely come back!

I stoped in because it always seems so lively, and I'm SO glad I did - the service was top tier: very personal and energetic; the food came out very quickly and tasted aMAZing, and I can't wait to come back. My server, Julia was the pinnacle of energy and charisma

Now is the time to visit El Carajillo because I get the feeling that tables are going to be hard to come by once the word gets out on this recently opened restaurant. Arriving at 1:00 on a cloudy Sunday led to ample seating on their patio for a brunch date. We tried several items: Frozen Lime Margarita - Thoroughly enjoyed. Horchata - a little lacking in flavor Chips & Salsa - Chips were fine; Salsa was better and has a little kick Breakfast Burrito - Good but was a little dry on its own. I got a side of the salsa (same as the one that came with the chips) which enhanced the entree. Chilaquiles - Came as described but I would prefer if there was an option to upgrade them with eggs and/or chicken Churros - Not bad This place really excelled in the intangibles. Very nice and accommodating service and a wonderful patio. They also have a Mon - Fri happy hour from 2-6 with margarita and draft beer specials. With a whole separate dinner menu to try, this new addition to Italian Village has good potential.

Had a lovely brunch here! Surprised there's no reviews of the cafe de olla, it was delicious! A perfect balance of sweet but not overly so, and the spices were forward enough to stand out. I think almost anyone would like this drink! We also got the breakfast burrito with sweet plantains - also delicious. The owners were lovely and it was a nice place to chat and have a weekday brunch! Lots of natural light inside too. I'll be back!

Stopped here this past Saturday on our walk back to our place and now I can't wait to go back. I really enjoyed the Cantarito drink and nachos! We also got the Pride shots, which were delicious. There is a nice little patio out back that we sat at. Service checked in on us very often, which I appreciate.

We were very pleased by the items we chose. A cappucino and bloody mary, esquites as an appetiser and the caprese sandwich and side salad with cilantro dressing. All excellent!

Let's start with the pancake balls. The signature dish is absolutely out of this world. You can get them filled with Nutella, dulce de leche or Apple/Pumpkin butter. These little morsels of goodness are worth the trip alone. We also had the Pueblo BLT Sammy with the sweet and spicy bacon (that's right this is a thing that must be tried to be believed). This sandwich was so good and don't sleep on the homemade citrus aioli - outstanding. Our table also had the hens in a basket. Eggs cooked perfectly and the bread had a sweetness to it that made it just right. OUTSTANDING FOOD! And we will be back

We started with a Hot Apple Cider, topped with maple-infused whipped cream and cinnamon, along with a couple of hot coffees. The cider was warm, comforting, and full of cozy fall flavors. Unfortunately, the self-serve coffee station wasn't kept stocked, and after waiting quite a while for a refill, we eventually gave up. For breakfast, we ordered two Mushroom Frittatas, a Fresh Buttermilk Biscuit, and a side of Housemade Breakfast Sausage. The Mushroom Frittata featured three hearth-baked eggs with roasted mushrooms, sweet onions, and Gruyère cheese, served alongside breakfast potatoes and a peppery arugula salad. It was flavorful, hearty, and incredibly satisfying. Although I informed the staff about my peanut allergy, I was surprised to find the crispy breakfast potatoes on my plate, which left me uncertain whether the allergy request had been fully communicated to the kitchen. The Fresh Buttermilk Biscuit, served with strawberry preserves, was one of the highlights of the meal. It was flaky, buttery, and wonderfully moist, pairing perfectly with the sweet preserves. The Housemade Breakfast Sausage consisted of two peppery pork patties that were juicy and well-seasoned, making a great accompaniment to the rest of the meal. Overall, we enjoyed a delicious and filling breakfast with fresh, high-quality ingredients. While I wish the coffee station had been monitored more closely and that greater care had been taken regarding my food allergy, the Mushroom Frittata and fresh biscuit alone make Northstar Café worth returning to.
