Each empanada was absolutely incredible!!! it is so hard to decide my favorite. The first one I ate (kids have shellfish allergies) was the Rasta Pasta, oh my, oh my , OH MY!! Please do not change the recipe! Absolutely delicious/perfect!! Did I mention, OH MY!! After basking with my tastebuds on the Rasta Pasta empanada, i returned to the sampling table and tried the Jerk Chicken empanada. SCRUMPTIOUS!!!!! Gave my son a hug for stumbling on a GOLDMINE All the other empanadas AWESOME!!! Working on how to bring these culinary delights to family down south,so we can share the wealth.

The owner isn't just a great guy but he's a mad genius. Things that I would've never thought to put in an empanada, he Severus Snapes it together and I've yet to have a bad one. I went simple and chose a beef and a chicken. Jasmine was friendly and told me varieties can change but that she likes to present several options. The specimens are kept warm under a heat lamp so it's ready to be consumed with no wait. I would call them medium sized, but at $4 ea a fair value. The shell seemed mostly flour, but tasty and crispy when I ate mine hours later. Both fillings were good. The chicken one was shredded white meat that was mildly seasoned. The beef was a bit different, it seemed to be tiny cubes of tender steak in a spicy sloppy joe'esque sauce. I'd get either again! There are choices of sauce too, but I made my own fresh salsa. I hope farmers market patrons come down this aisle and give them a try. I still see people lined up for a mediocre at best empanada truck not far from here....Jasomines nadas are much better!

The potato salad was smooth with some chunks of potatoes and a light crunch from the veggies. My favorite was the beans that pair perfectly with the rice and meat! All this for only $12!!! Wow! I highly recommend it. I also tried their beef empanadas. They were excellent. They're fried to order and homemade. There's a lot of filling and the beef inside is perfectly seasoned. The last time I had empanadas this good was at my Puerto Rican friend's house where his grandma made them! A close second was in Rincon, Puerto Rico. These are that good. They're a must try. This a lovely local neighborhood corner takeout restaurant. You can call ahead to order your food to avoid the the wait. The owner and staff are all very friendly and happy to answer any questions and provide recommendations. They have a tv in the waiting area and some drinks for sale. Inside is very clean and everything looks new and well organized. The food all homemade and delicious. Portions are very generous and a great value for what the charge. I'm looking forward to trying more of their food. I highly recommend it! It's definitely worth a trip to check it out. Support your local restaurants.

Service is friendly and efficient. Orders are made at the counter, or, dare you dare, via QR codes located at the table. Parking is limited, and because it's located between two one-way streets, it can be tricky coming in to or leaving. The Sopes at La Taqueria are a must to try. They're heavily ladened with tasty toppings, and I'd order them again in a heartbeat. The chorizo sope was especially good, and had enough chorizo on it to make two Sopes. Be forewarned that you will not have clean hands after eating them. On another visit I tried the fish tacos. Fish tacos at La Taqueria are the chopped/shredded variety rather than the deep fried filet version. The tortillas themselves were heated well, but were nothing special, nor was the flavor of the fish itself anything remarkable. I expected something more interesting from the place. On the flip side, I also tried a Taco de Tripa, asking for it to be cooked crisp (Tripa in Mexico is pork chitterling, not tripe) and it was very, very (feel free to insert more verys) good, and is definitely a taco I'll try again and again. During our most recent visit, we had the Enchiladas de Pollo en Mole, which brought four enchiladas in a deeply flavored mole with rice and beans. The mole was not sweet like so many other moles in other area restaurants, but was instead relying heavily on the flavors of the chiles. It was very tasty, and a nice change from the usual sweet moles. We also had an excellent Huarache de Lengua, a thick, oval tortilla ladened with beef tongue. I have a feeling my wife will be ordering it each time we return. In addition, we ordered a bowl of the Sopa de Panza y Pata, a soup with a spicy broth and loaded with cow's hooves and tripe. It was a meal in itself, and was also served with rice on the side along with some thick corn gorditas. I was torn between four and five stars here, and if the fish tacos hadn't been such a bust, they'd probably have gotten that fifth star. La Taqueria is definitely in the top tier of local Mexican/Guatemalan restaurants, and will be part of our regular rotation going forward.

Each empanada is handmade, baked fresh, and clearly labeled both on the menu and directly on the pastry itself, which makes it easy to keep track of what you ordered. You can stock up on frozen empanadas to bake at home, which is a great option--and they're very easy to prepare. Just place them on parchment paper and bake for about 10-15 minutes. Food that you share with others and create different flavors on your own with their amazing sauces. Served takeout. No seating. Before I begin my review and before I even begin this I question yelp. How is it then when I put in the word "empanada" and "North Wales" this restaurant establishment did not come up? What are your algorithms doing that prevent this? Perhaps this is why I never saw it before. Is yelp retarding possible locations through algorithmic distortion? Hmmmmmm? And...did you see my pictures. Let's just say the food tastes absolutely amazing, and it's as flavorful as the saturation of the colors in the photos. How can I say It's a find when it's been there for years? Because not enough people know about it. And if they did, it would be a franchise. But you need to get the recipes. I'm sure you can get all the equipment, but there's a lot of love in these dishes. Time for the review..... I've gone here twice for my office. The first time I got nine the second time I don't know how many I got, but every time these empanadas disappear. They're in the normal pastry shell, or Colombian- in corn called Maza. First, I'll tell you in order what I ordered, a photo is attached: Roasted poblano - delicious with a tasty little hint of poblano pepper Chicken Colombian - the most delicious empanada of them all. A delightful corn pocket with a tasty chicken filling Buffalo chicken - tasty buffalo chicken in a pastry pocket Beef cheesesteak - it's exactly what it says Mixed vegetable Colombian - this is vegetarian and really delicious with the sauces Barbecue pulled pork - extremely tasty, and perfect for the game The coleslaw is exceptional as is the soups. I had the chicken posole, which was absolutely the best I've ever had. The sauces are all great. But always, always, use Valentino, at least a little. So I ordered 23 the second time for the office and they flew off the table. The quote of the day was "I could've eaten the whole box." This family brings a unique pride to North Wales. North Wales has some of the best food of the area. Bagels, baked goods, pizza, and a various list of other places, including ice cream. I suggest for the game ordering 50, mixed, they're all labeled, with coleslaw, flan, soups. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Did diners and drive-ins hear about this? Bobbie, you should make food this good. Hey Mr. wonderful. Here's a franchise that would make everyone happy. -But you can't re-create the recipes without this family. Absolutely stunning- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now here's a really cool part as a footnote. You can take them home and reheat them tomorrow and they will taste just as good. OMG. Or to your friends in New York or Jersey where they will say "...where the ____ did you get these ?" (Slowly, turning them into an Eagles fan.)
