Tonight was our first time there and I can tell you it won't be our last. The restaurant looked so beautiful as we walked in. The hostess greeted us right away and sat us. Our waiter Ariel was very attentive. He was top notch with making us feel welcome. The Pappardella bolongause was delicious. The shrimp scampi was awesome. We could not have been happier.

I've been here a few times in the distant past and it's taken me way too long to revisit. We came early midweek and found only one other table seated, but as others have noted, if you come during prime dinner hours it might be busy. Our server was pleasant and friendly, but possibly new on the job. She didn't quite recite all of the evenings specials, but I had a feeling I'd try the chicken parm anyway. I did, and also an order of clams casino. That app raised this review into 4 star range. These were done in a way I prefer, whole clam at bottom with cooked stuffing on top, noticeable bacon included as well. I would be very happy with 20 of these and some crusty bread. The chicken parm was also better than average. I liked the breading and it was not over sauced or soggy. Good chicken too. My only critique would be to improve the sauce. While it tasted ok, my co diner's pomodoro sauce looked and smelled amazing. I'd ask for that to be substituted if possible. I recall them serving the fresh out of pizza oven puffy bread( or so I thought?) but the light and fluffy doughy bread with light cheese crust was pretty good, and a nice spruced up olive oil to go with it. House salads were ok. Prices are very fair here too. My next visit will be sooner than the decades wait of this last one.

Held a baby shower for 27 people. Food was excellent and the staff was so helpful. I would highly recommend. Even though it is held in restaurant we had plenty of room and privacy with divider. As always an wonderful experience.

If you're looking for the best pasta in NJ look no further. I've been coming here for many years and have never had better pasta than Villa Barone. I always order the same meal, pasta Bellissimo. Service is friendly and attentive and food comes out fairly quick. A bonus is that the restaurant is also BYOB. Perfect restaurant to come to for special occasions or host a baby shower, bridal shower or rehearsal dinner.

It had been more than a year since my last visit to Marty's Place. Time flies!…read more I was driving by this morning after court, having skipped breakfast at home in order to get a jump on traffic going into the city. I saw a new sign out front on a Bud Light white board that breakfast was now being served 7 days a week! Hot diggity! I parked out back and walked in to a mostly empty bar (2 customers who looked like they were regulars). The bartender approached and we engaged about their breakfast menu. It was pretty wide open if my desires had anything to do with eggs. They did. I opted for a sausage, egg and cheese on Kaiser roll, and mug of java. While it was being created in the kitchen I watched a show about exotic car auctions. A Borgati opening at a cool million bucks was an eye opener. Another black transport used by John Lennon around London was also put up and sold. Pretty cool entertainment. The sandwich was great! Double patty, fried egg, American cheese and a fresh, quality roll, made for a tasty and fun meal. The side of homefries was likewise excellent - hot, crisp and spicy with sautéed onions in the mix. Coffee, strong and kicking. The only shortcomings were the lack of a joe refill offering, and lack of utensils. Luckily, I had a spoon from the coffee, which was fine as a shovel. Afterall, Marty's is still a wonderful corner dive. It was made for comfort, not for speed, nor etiquette.

The omelette was delicious I just Didn't care for the tiny cubed potatoes bcz they were too well done like deep fried! Afterwards he bought us tiny little samples of homemade poundcake like pineapple upside down cake, caramel, and even a strawberry cheesecake flavor! Bill Really impressed me with his sharing of how he makes his stuffed cabbage since I'm Hungarian and told him how I make mine! I've been in the restaurant business for 40 years ( Retired on my bday 3/13/20 at the start of Covid ) but I have NEVER tipped a cook until today! Such a unique and large space with seating on both sides (1 side is a coffee bar and the other is the kitchen). Their menu is so unique and they also have a "test kitchen" menu where they'll have creations from the kitchen that they make and if they're popular enough they make the big menu. Such a great concept. Their menu has so many delicious sounding items but I decided since it was my first time to try "staples" which was a sandwich and soup combo. The cheddar broccoli soup was spectacular! The flavor and heartiness won me over. I tried the pear and gouda panini as my 1/2 sandwich which was also quite tasty. Oh and my iced raspberry cheesecake cappuccino was my favorite! Soooooo dreamy. And the customer service was great too. The cashier was super patient with me as I took forever to review the menu and decide on what I wanted. I will definitely be back even though it isn't close to my home which says something. So happy I discovered this place.

The hostess was very friendly. She immediately took us to our table. Then our waiter came. She was not friendly at all. It did not seem like she wanted to work there or serve us. We decided to move sections because we wanted to sit near a window since it was so dark in the main dining area. Unfortunately, we got the same server. Also, it was a very hot day and it did not seem like they had the AC on. Weird. The food and drinks were meh. I ordered the peach sangria. It was decent. Not too strong and not too sweet. My dad ordered a Coors Light. They didn't have it on draft so he had to get a cold glass. He enjoyed it. Their cocktail menu was very limited considering they have a full bar. We ordered one appetizer which was the onion soup. For our entree's we ordered the the B2 Bistro Burger, Mustard crusted salmon, and grilled chicken pasta. The French Onion Soup was delicious. Very hot but flavorful. However, it could have used less salt. The Bistro Burger was good. Cooked to perfection and very juicy. The fries were a bit salty but still edible. The Mustard Crusted salmon was meh. The salmon itself wasn't very flavorful. The rice was pretty bland but the green beans were delicious. The grilled chicken pasta was probably the best dish of the evening. It was very flavorful, hot, and cooked to perfection. We really enjoyed that entree. Overall, it was a good experience with minor flaws. I am not sure if I will return but if I do I don't think I will have any major issues. If you are in the area check them out. Cheers!

I passed it on the way to my hotel and immediately decided it was a place I wanted to check out. I'll admit I was a little alarmed when I walked in and realized it was giving neighborhood bar energy instead of the chic bistro vibes is expecting. I happened to arrive during trivia night, and most of the patrons seemed really into it so it was much louder and rowdier than I anticipated. So much for a quiet dinner. I asked the hostess if I could be seated in a booth away from the activity, but even in a less crowded section, the atmosphere remained pretty overstimulating. In addition to the enthusiastic trivia-playing patrons, there were loud, animated conversations among various staff members, music playing from staff member's phone while music was already playing throughout the restaurant, and just a lot of competing noise. After a three-hour drive, I was really hoping for a glass of wine, a nice meal, and a more relaxed environment. That said, the staff were all incredibly friendly and pleasant. You could tell that they genuinely enjoy working there and enjoy each other's company, which made it difficult to be too annoyed. Eventually, I popped in my AirPods and dissociated so that I could focus on enjoying my meal. For dinner, the Chicken Francaise with a glass of the Italian Pinot Grigio (The name escapes me at the moment). The wine paired beautifully with the meal. The chicken itself was a fairly thick cut and cooked perfectly, but it could have used a bit more seasoning. I also would have loved to see some of the risotto sauce drizzled over the chicken because, while the texture was spot on, the flavor was a little underwhelming on its own. The green beans were excellent. Perfectly cooked with just the right amount of crunch and lightly seasoned. But the real star of the show was the Parmesan lemon risotto. That risotto is easily among the top three best risottos I've ever had. The brightness of the lemon combined with the creamy parmesan made for an absolutely unforgettable dish. I was genuinely disappointed that I couldn't finish it because every bite was fantastic. Honestly, I could have ordered a plate of that risotto by itself and left completely satisfied. While the atmosphere wasn't quite what I was looking for, the friendly service and that unforgettable delectable risotto made the visit worthwhile.

But I was wrongly under the impression that they had been taken over by an Italian spot that's really just a stone's throw away. I even had to ask the waitress who realized my mistake and said she wouldn't be insulted if we left. But, interestingly enough, I also knew Renee from that same youth, so I decided to stay. My uncle had wanted Italian food, and there was some on the menu. He selected fettuccini Alfredo with sausage added. I saw pirogi as an app and knew I'd have to order, I also had a cheesesteak. He really enjoyed the pasta and commented on how good the sausage was. He was happy to take home half of it and the side salad that came with it. I was pleasantly surprised by the pirogi, they were the smallest I've ever had but were very tasty. A mild cheese filling with good dough( NOT pasta dough) with some seared to a golden brown. It came with lightly sautéed red onion in a butter sauce, not bad either. My steak sandwich was on the small side but at $9 and coming with good fries, I was fine with that. It was good too, I'd get either again. This is kind of a hybrid I guess, part neighborhood bar(at lunch time we were the only guests in dining room, maybe 6-8 at the bar), part liquor store and part casual dining spot. This Inn also has quite a bit of history. Renee was a great hostess/waitress and it was good to see someone from my past, which I sometimes think was largely hallucinated. I plan on revisiting.....
