Golden Seashell is located on the main drag of Newport in Ocean Beach a couple of blocks from the water. For that reason, parking can be a bit challenging, but it is also convenient to stop by on my way to pick up lunch or do something else at the beach. It appears to be a one-man shop where the owner does all of the repairs. Both times, drop off and pick up have been quick and easy. Both times, he has taken a quick look at my chain and given me the price and timeframe. Both times, he repaired the chain successfully. The price is reasonable in comparison with what I have paid in other places in the past. The only reason I can't give five stars is that the timeframe given is one to two weeks. This last time, he took just over a week. In other parts of town, I have had some places fix it within a day, some, even within an hour. I imagine he is probably busy with a lot of other repairs. However, to have someone fix my jewelry locally at a reasonable price is a pretty good deal, and I will be back to Golden Seashell.

I had originally got my ring from another business and they messed up the design of my engagement ring and a diamond fell out less than a month of wearing it. After multiple conversations with terrible customer service from the other business, we brought my ring to Aaron and Nancy. They completely saved the day! They fixed my ring and made it even more beautiful than when it was brand new. They replaced the diamond, cleaned the ring, and even gave me a silicone ring to wear while they were repairing it. They are talented and do incredible work! On top of that, the value is amazing for the quality of work that they do! Fast forward to today, our wedding is next week, and so my fiance brought in the ring to get it cleaned and they did not even charge him for the cleaning. Their customer service is outstanding, and they are genuinely the sweetest people ever. Nancy and Aaron are incredible and we will keep returning to them again and again in the future! They are talented, kind, and just genuine, amazing people. If you need a ring repair, cleaning, or a custom ring made, this is the place to go!

That said, an old Schaffer beer tin sign for $85 seemed a bit steep. It is fun to walk around and look at all the old stuff. You just might come across that perfect "thing".
