"It's very strange that you have flashback tags on these clothes, where did you buy these" all while all the workers were looking at me as if I did something wrong. I still have tags on some of the clothes because I sell online and I need to remember how much I paid per item when I post them on Depop and whatnot. I needed money as soon as possible and figured I could sell to flashbacks faster than online. As a loyal buyer and seller of flashbacks for years I'm very upset and annoyed at this encounter. I don't think someone who stole would post a review. If Flashbacks has any concerns about a loyal customer I'd be more than happy to give dates and times of purchasing items at any point in time. Please tell your employees to do better.

Over the years, my husband has picked up some of his all-time favorite beanies here, and I've found everything from vintage Levi's to a fabulous furry purple jacket that still gets compliments. Every visit feels like a treasure hunt. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, and the owner is truly one of my favorite people. You can tell how much care and personality goes into the shop. While we were browsing, the lady at the front kept hovering over us as if we were trying to steal something. It was obvious enough that we actually started laughing about it. Combined with how incredibly expensive everything was, we decided not to buy anything. We did use the photo booth a couple of times, which has about a 3 and 1/2 minute processing time. While waiting for our photos to print and looking through them together, we sat on the couch. There was no one else in the store, and we weren't being loud, rude, or causing any problems. Despite that, we were rudely told the couch was only for customers trying on clothes. Didn't know the couch was a dressing room. It felt unnecessary considering we were simply waiting for the photos we had just paid for and were about to leave. The store has a cool concept, but the customer service made it feel unwelcoming. Greet every customer with kindness. Not everyone who walks into your store is out to get you.

I understand that the parking is for in-store customers only. But the moment I stepped out of my car, a woman came running out of the store and started yelling at me, saying the parking was for those businesses only. I hadn't even walked away from my vehicle yet, and she had no idea where I was going. For context, I'm a Type 1 diabetic, and my blood sugar suddenly dropped very low. In that moment, I urgently needed food or I risked being unsafe to drive. My boyfriend was with me, but he isn't insured on my car and doesn't know how to drive a manual--and she still insisted that I make him take my car. On top of that, it's not safe for me to be walking around alone when my blood sugar is that low. I calmly explained the situation and told her I just needed a quick snack and would be back in under five minutes. Despite that, she showed zero empathy and continued yelling. At that point, my priority was my health and safety. I also didn't feel comfortable leaving my car unattended given her aggressive behavior. I waited a few days to write this, but as a Type 1 diabetic, this situation was genuinely scary and upsetting. This happened Saturday in the late afternoon. Situations like this deserve more understanding and basic human compassion. Please do better.

Some of the merchants inside are reasonably priced, others are a little bit more pricey. However, overall, I find that there are much better value than some of the boutiques that line the sidewalks in Oceanside or Carlsbad for instance. I ended up with a couple of air plants, nearly bought a beaded carpet bag type thing, but decided that I don't know when I would use it. They have two other locations in San Diego. A 284% markup because they thought it would pass as vintage. I can't imagine what else they're trying to mark up and pass off as vintage. As soon as I saw that lampshade I walked out. What a rip off.
