Empire Hyundai's "customer service" representatives are rude and don't care about the customer. I called with an issue around my registration, hoping that a "customer focused" business like a car dealership would be willing to help with the issue. Instead I got a woman with an attitude who seemed completely uninterested in trying to get to the bottom of the issue and just told me she knew "nothing about that." When I asked if there was someone who did, she said "no" and wouldn't elaborate further. Basically, she refused to help me, which is the opposite of what customer service reps are supposed to do. I went on there website found the 1 I wanted then checked the price on the tru-car website and printed there low price guaranty certificate called the store then drove there and what a surprise the person I spoke to was mysteriously not there. ok moving on, after about 25min after they asked 9000 questions they said oh no we cant sell the car at that low price "someone made a mistake" but we can sell you a base model for $2000 more than the price I was guaranteed (wtf !) Do people really go for that crap ? so I left very unhappy and wasted 4hrs of my life (between web & travel there and back) so I will move on to another dealer that wants to sell a car to someone with good credit and a half of brain. The most unprofessional business I have ever encountered. They constantly complain about being "too busy" when they aren't busy at all. They will promise you a deal, send you off with a car before signing papers, have you come back in after two days and tell you a different deal. They wasted my time for three days promising a deal, tried to get me to sign a deal before telling me numbers. They're slimy and shady. I don't recommend this dealership at all. Last night, my fiancé and I visited Empire Hyundai in Fall River, Massachusetts to test drive a used Honda Accord. I made an appointment during the day, in which the woman that answered the phone, Leanne told me to ask for the sales manager Eric when we arrived. We pulled up to the dealership to see the Honda Accord outside, which I thought was because we wanted to drive it. The salesman outside, Luis I believe, approached as we got out of our vehicle. We asked for Eric, but he said he was busy. I told him we had an appointment to test drive that Accord, and I pointed to the vehicle right there next to us. His response was "How do you know it's that one?" Well Luis, because I have been looking online for weeks and that's the only grey Accord you have. To make a long story short, the whole experience was disgusting. The car was very dirty, which the salesman pointed out to us and said it would be cleaned before we got it. I asked him why it wasn't cleaned already? There were a number of scratches, some serious, all over the left rear of the car and the rear bumper. He said this was an easy fix. Well then why isn't it fixed already??! The sales manager was rude and obnoxious. They did no research to offer us a fair price on our trade-in and then tried to hold our car keys hostage when we asked for them back. They gave us an offer of $120 MORE than our current payment. Turns out they lie about their car prices online too. There's a disclaimer that all their prices are based on a $3500 trade in value. So you want me to buy an overpriced, dirty, scratched up Honda and pay $416/month for 7 years? When we approached the sales manager's desk to get our car keys back, he literally threw them on the desk and said "Thanks anyways, have a nice day." While I do realize that car salesmen have a certain 'procedure' they have to follow and go back and forth with the sales manager, there was no respect for what we wanted or were considering to pay. I WOULD NEVER throw something at my customer if I did not get my way. There sales practices have much to be worked on and frankly, I would not want this dealership representing Hyundai if it was my company. I bought a 2016 Santa Fe Sport, fully loaded, in the upper $30,000's. I have realized that I am unhappy with the vehicle. Went to trade it in recently and found out, much to my surprise, that the car was only worth half of what I originally paid. I was misinformed by the dealer, who stated that Hyundai hold their value. I traded in a 2013 Equinox which value is the same as a 2016 Hyundai. I'm writing this review to make other consumers aware of the fraud associated with Hyundai. They are not worth what they say. The absolute worst experience when buying anything ever. Would give 0 stars if it was an option. We made an appt to look at an Equinox with 3rd row seating. In our initial email, we made it clear that we were only interested in the V6 2013 and didn't want to come if they sold it before our appt. Friday night, they called & confirmed our appt. I said yes as long as the car hasn't been sold. They said it hadn't. Saturday morning, the day of our appt, they called 60 mins before our appt to confirm we were coming. I said yes, as long as you still have the car. They said they did. Lie #1. We drove 1 hr one way and got there only to find out they sold it the night before. They also tell us that car wasn't 3rd row seating, even though their website stated it was & had pics of a 3rd row that were taken of the car on the lot, so they weren't manufactured pics. Lie #2. "We have 2 Equinox in Swansea. It'll take 10 mins to bring them both here." 35 mins later (lie #3), I ask the front desk where they are. He said "in route." I said both of them? They are bringing two cars here? He said yes, both are in route. They show up with one bc she couldn't find the key. Lie #4. They said they would give us $2,500-3,000 for our very well taken care of car that has low mileage and is fully loaded with just 2 previous owners. I laughed and said we are done here. Not one apology from the sales manager for all of the lies & shady business practices. Or the fact that they wasted 2 hrs of drive time and 2 hours of us only being fed BS the entire time. We should have listened to the reviews where he said they didn't have the car when he got there. I asked them about this before making our appt. They said they tried to rectify that situation but he didn't want to wait 10 mins for them to bring the car from Swansea. Well now I see why, because 10 mins turns into 35-40 mins. I went here out of word of mouth from a family member.. worst mistake I've ever made! They make promises to help you if you have bad credit and they promise you all sorts of wonderful things.. Even once you get there they take you around, let you look at some cars (which have no prices on the window). Then, they take you inside and waste 2 hours of your freakin time going over what you'd like and tell you how possible it is to get what you want.. until the salesman goes back to talk to the "big shot" and he comes back with a paper of scribbled giant numbers that basically scream out "NOT A CHANCE IN HELL". You tell them you want to stay under a $300.00 a month car payment and the "big shot" tells you that you'll have to pay a $500 a month payment for 7 years on a 2010 car that is supposedly worth $19,000!!! are you freakin kidding me?! I didn't know I went to a used porche dealership I thought I was at a hyundai dealership shopping for used cars.. bottom line.. they take you for the longest worst test drive of your life.. get your hopes up and make you leave feeling like there's no hope! I bought a high end Equuis and the deal almost went south but Kasey from Empire saved that deal and made it happen. Since then I have received top notch service through them and she has made sure I get a high end loaner just as advertised on the Hyundai website. Not true with other dealers like Bernardi Hyundai who took a week to fix a power window switch and only gave me a ride to enterprise to get a stripped down economy car. Empires service manager and employees have been very polite and always return my car polished and spotless. I took the car home for the night, had not yet signed a purchase and sales, and return the next morning to being told that my trade-in was in their other lot in Swansea, MA. I had to drive there to gather my belongings. Problem one. I had not yet purchased a car... Then my payments are all of a sudden much higher than I had told them. I end up negotiating and purchase the car. It took them 3 weeks to pick up my car and bring it for a VIN check, as I live in RI. Both times the guys who brought my car for a VIN check left their trash in my car. I also was only given a key, no lock/unlock key or spare (as this was a certified car). The day they show up the second time to do the VIN check, they come with a lock/unlock button with scotch tape all around it, I told them this was UNACCEPTABLE. I spoke to the manager who stated they would order new ones. Eventually they did, but was 3 weeks later. I have a rip in the backseat, which was written on the purchase and sales to be repaired, I have called Brandon multiple times and have not heard back. I will end up repairing it myself, less headache. Once the sale is done, they don't want anything to do with you, there is no follow through, and even management does not take you seriously. Well I had heard all these shady things about this dealership but found it hard to believe. But here's my story. I bought my car there three years back and just recently the engine light came on. I called Hyundai of Fall River and spoke with a sales person and a service person gave them my mileage and car information and they said my warranty had ran out and id have to pay 90$ to hook it up to the diagnostics machine just to see what's wrong and diagnose the issue then pay whatever it is to have it fixed. I didn't have the money at the time so I left it be. A few months later I brought it to a garage in New Bedford to get my oil changed and filters changed. He of course told me about the light and I explained what the dealership said and that I didn't have the money right now. He said I can't imagine your warranty is up your cars still pretty new and I assured him I spoke with two different people at Fall River Hyundai who told me it was true and I'd have to pay full price to have it fixed. He gave me the number of a guy at raynham Rt. 44 Hyundai he said call him he's a real stand up guy I used to work with he might be able to get you done cheaper and check out your warranty cause something's not right. Kind of thought it was a waist of time but I called anyway just to get an estimate. Low and behold this guy tells me I'm still under warranty and he can fix my car no cost what so ever. I was skeptical and figured I'd get up there and things would change or they would try selling me a new car or something stupid. Well my husband just called me on his way home from rt 44 Hyundai ... Cars fixed lights off no charge. Wtf Fall River Hyundai?!?!? And worse yet they said yeah I heard of them doing that to people before they are really shady. I don't get angry about much but this was intentionally trying to screw me. Someone down there is probably charging for things covered under warranty and pocketing the money. So so sad and disappointing. I love my car but my next Hyundai will come from rt. 44. They did right by me when you guys screwed me over. DO NOT GET A CAR FROM HERE. my girlfriend and i went here this on Monday night to get a car. I was told that i would be approved with no problem. So we test drove a really nice car, and went back to crunch some numbers. So we were first given the amount of 450 a month for a 2006 we said no way we already had a 2008 Chevy and didn't really need a car that bad. So we told him under 400 looking at maybe 350ish. So after he asked us ten times for payments well over 400 we said no and tried to walk out. Now the sales manager JOE came into the room and asked us if we liked the car and we said yea. He asked us if we liked it enough to get it tonight, again we said yea. He then asked us what will it take for you guys to get this car and we said payments around 350 360. So we agreed on a payment and we signed the bill of sale and we were told to come back up and finish the paper work. So the next day i took the car to them to have them look over some things, then my girlfriend my 10 month and i went into the office to sign some papers. That's when they told us we needed a cosigner. Mind you they already agreed on payments told us they wouldn't have a problem getting us approved and even let us take the car for two days. I decided to search Craigs List for a used 2010 Town & Country and indeed there was one advertised at Empire Hyundai in Fall River. I spoke to the girl in the office who confirmed that she had just checked with her manager and the car was there. So we decided to take a ride because the "Deal" sounded too good to be true - a 2010 Town & Country for $18,988. with just under 5000 miles on it. We met with a "gentleman", who right from the start played "dumb". He took us to see another car and "couldn't find" the one that was advertised. He said that it could have been sold a few days ago, but since it was the internet sales, the post wouldn't have been updated yet. I asked him about the girl who I spoke to and he said that she was somewhere else and had nothing to do with their dealership. He continued to lie to us so we left, at which time I called the "internet girl" back. I asked her where she was and she said that she was there, upstairs. I told her that I was there, out in my car, and she said that she would check and get right back to me. Gee, guess what...she never called back. How could a place like this still be in business???? On May 8th I went to Empire Hyundai to inquire about possibly testing driving a car. They would not allow this until they ran my credit and also tried selling me a car beforehand. (They also ran my credit about five times without my permission.) After they were pushy and also would not return my old car keys. They kept sending different guys back and forth to me trying to get me to take a bad car that day. They also asked for my debit card or a check to prove I want the vehicle after I told them I will think about it. They stated that taking my card would prove to the financial representative that I am interested. They also doubted that I am active duty military after showing ID when I asked for that discount as stated by Hyundai and stated I would have to provide a DD 214 form. If these people knew anything they would know that form is an official separation from military service form! At that point I was DONE! I said I was not interested, asked for my keys and as they were trying to say I would not get a better trade in for my old car (they offered only $2,000 and I received almost $4,000 at Premiere Toyota). I left and since then I have had to contact them twice to stop contacting me. They are still trying to reach out via email and voice mails. NEVER GO TO THIS DEALERSHIP! THEY ARE HORRIBLE! read more

This is my second post on Empire I hope to not offended anyone but I need to address a few things based on my opinions and observations. First, don't take all of the not so positive reviews as the standard for Empire. Most of those reviews are 2 to 3 years old and are not the standard of today. I've been going to Empire for several years now and stand by their dealership, the product, the owner, Tony, and Eric. These guys strive for excellence. But they face challenges because of the demographic changes in the city in the last 10 years or so. For someone like myself who has a job, good credit, have knowledge of the product, and avoids hassle, all this results in a pleasant experience. Fall River has more sketchy characters than ever and these are people who want a new a car with bad credit with little to no employment. They're a dealer not a place of miracles that will increase your credit score by 100 points and make you earn an extra 20K a year. Please note this isnnot for everyone whos from this city, butnive noticed this first hand especially while waiting in service. However they miraculously got me out of the lease full buyout nothing out of pocket, saved me 110 a month and got me in a new azera. Do yourselves a favor give Empire a chance and ask for Tony you won't be disappointed. Lastly they have the best used and certified lot in a 30 mile radius. Stopped in to test drive a couple of cars. No problem, drove both. Liked one and sat down with the salesman and the game began. We can get you in the car for this $ amount for this amount of time. No thank you, can you tell me what the bottom line on the car is? Why isn't the price the same amount you have advertised on your website? Oh, the website price includes all incentives, and we can only qualify for one incentive, so the price goes up 3500.00. How is this an honest representation of the price of the vehicle? It's really a bait and switch routine. So, what's the best you can do on the car and again they ask us, how much do you want to pay a month? I want to know what's the bottom line on the car? Well, can you afford to pay 269.00 for 60 months, they ask? That isn't what I asked, what's the bottom line on the car?? They throw another figure out. You can take it home tonight if you sign right now. No thank you, we just wanted to test drive and we'll discuss and let you know. Well, the deal may not be the same tomorrow, they remark. Why not, we ask? Well it depends on how I'm feeling tomorrow. I'm having a good day today. If it's not such a good day tomorrow the price may change. Funny how the game changes the next day after we do some more research and go back with some figures for them. So we settle on a price for the car in 15 minutes and start on financing. More games with financing. If you agree to purchase extended warranty and tire protection and glass etching, and a paint and fabric protection we can drop your interest rate to 2%. Then when it comes time to pick up the car, what you didn't bring a bank check for the down payment. No, no one told us we needed to bring a certified check and I've never had to bring a bank check for any car I've ever purchased in the last 30 years. I've always used a personal check. Then when we finally go to pick up the vehicle, it's not inspected, and they can't find the second key! They didn't have time to get the inspection done and just said, we'll give you a voucher and you can take it to the inspection station tomorrow, and come by and get the key when you're finished. Pardon me, but the car was supposed to be ready for us to pick up. So I try to speak the sales manager before we leave. There was one other customer in the dealership, and he tells me I have to wait that he doesn't have time and then pushes me off to his assistant. The assistant talk to me for a few minutes, takes my name and number and hands me his business card. Please call me he says, I want to make you happy. OK, if that's the case, you call me. I'm the customer who has the issue, and you're throwing this back on me. It is the worst car buying experience I have ever had. I have no issue with people making a living, but please don't try to take advantage of people with fast talk and less than honest deals. I wouldn't recommend this dealer to anyone. I went in to buy a new car that was better on gas compared to my current SUV. The saleman that showed me the new Sonata was friendly and helpful. I told them my budget but that I was only "looking" today-NOTHING ELSE. The salesman then refused to let me test drive the new Sonata without getting an appraisal of my current SUV. I test drove the car and loved it. I then wanted to discuss my options with my husband later that evening. The saleman got other salesman and his financial manager to keep coming up with "better numbers" to help me. They were then rude once I told them I had no intention to buy today; rather just look and review the options with my husband. They made comments towards myself, my finances and my relationship with my finace; which is neither any of their business or relevant to me buying the car. I asked numerous times for my SUV keys back to leave and they wouldnt give it to me. I wanted to leave and not buy anything, but the staff continued to be rude and not allow me to leave. They even asked to call my husband and work and have him leave early to meet me there!!!! Not to mention I was there for 3 hours and they expected me to wait another 3 until he was out of work. I had to pay $100 to hold the Sonata for me and I could take it home to my husband to show him. I figured this was my only way to leave so I did it. I went home picked up my husband and they gave him no problem when we asked for my car back. I loved the car but wouldnt buy from them anyday and I dont recommend others buy their either.
