I brought my car in for a scheduled 7500 mile maintenance. I brought it in early for an 8 o'clock appointment. I sat and sat and sat in the cold "lounge" finally 10:25 AM. They come out and tell me that they need to call it into my fleet company. I waited another 10 minutes or so. They finally finish the 7500 mile check. No vacuum, no wash, just an oil change in an air filter change. 2 1/2 hours out of my time that I will never get back. read more

Do not try and get an oil change,you will be held hostage for at least 2 hours. Every time I ask them to change to an appointment system for oil changes. They will allow people to jump ahead of you. Don't allow your wife or daughter to bring car in they will take advantage and upsell unnecessary services. Have 2000 dollar quote for car with 35 thousand miles on it. Coolant,brake fluid and differential flush at 35k. Owners manual states 120000 for coolant change. If it wasn't for documentation of oil change for powertrain warranty I wouldn't even go there. read more

Terrible dealer and company. Leased a HYUNDAI palisade. Has the car for over a year and the engine started to randomly shut off while driving on the highway. Shut the car off and restarted it and it was fine. This kept getting worse. I brought the car to the dealer four times for the same thing they finally kept it for four months because they said it needed a part that they needed corporate approval for. I made car payments for four months while not having a car to drive. They told me to rent one and they would reimburse me. I got my car back and they wouldn't reimburse me for the rental. I had a text message saved from the person who said it would be reimbursed. I had to literally fight them for the money and they only gave me back a portion. The car was totaled and the are making me make payments for the last 3 months of the lease. Even though they received a check from the insurance company that was over the amount of the totaled value of the car. They are showing me as late for the payment in January even though they cashed the insurance company check in December. I am forced to make the payments to not affect my credit. DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THIS DEALER OR COMPANY. read more

Since Nucar took over there is no personalization anymore. They screw up and then make it seem like you're a pain in the ass for wanting your half price oil change. Husband just got brakes done and it was over $800! brakes not even new rotors!! We were going to trade in and then all that crap happened with my car and no-one would help me-said they don't give loaners for performance issues only safety issues-what is an exhaust issue? I couldn't even drive the car it was so loud and the clamp was never put on so everything was dangling under my car! NEVER AGAIN! What a waste of time! read more

However once you take ownership all bets are off. They get rude, care less what they do as they already got paid. So we said yes, we get there all very rude other than " I will be right with you " they said nothing to us. Scanned our 2025 Santa Fe and walks over said it will be 2-3 hours. I was like what? Service center used subpar and unsafe rope plug on tire repair. Plug failed within 20 minutes of use and resulted in dangerously low tire pressure on highway. I brought the vehicle to a local tire shop and the staff there were shocked that a dealership would use this type of plug and patch, as it is not recommended (and in their experience is usually used by shady and cheap third party mechanics). This also made the tire unrepairable, so I believe the dealership used this patch purposefully so we would come back and buy tires from them after the plug fails. I would recommend getting your service elsewhere. read more

Brought my car in with 44,000 miles due to a code issue. They did an overall inspection of the car and claimed I needed $2000 plus of repair. The code issue was for a O2 sensor which they charge me just over $200 +145 to install it. The other issues were fluid change, new brakes and rotors plus a battery. are you authorize them to install the O2 sensor and do a fluid change. My bill for that was just shy of $700. They are written estimate unlike the verbal estimate for the brakes was just under $500 for the front and under $500 for the rear. The battery installed was going to be $275..plus they wanted $90 to rotate the tires and balance them They were brand new and just placed on the vehicle. We were thinking of trading this car in and buying a new vehicle which still may happen but not at Nucar. It's not about buying a car its about the service of the car. Btw a top of the line Die Hard battery was installed for less than $200. Price for original equipment O2 sensor less than $45. I will not be back to this dealership. read more

I went for an oil change and inspection with a scheduled appointment. Jay tells me I need 2 new air filters and a brake fluid change, now I keep routine maintenance on my vehicles and both were purchase from Tarbox Hyundai. I sat for over an hour when I notice they are finally bringing my car in. I waited for 3 hrs with a scheduled appointment! Then, the very next day my daughter brings in her car for an oil change and issues with her alarm going off ( I own it) and they try to tell her she needs $900 repair for tire rods and alignment. They refuse to look at the alarm issue saying they don't have the time. I talk with the same guy, Jay, I-dealt with. I asked to explain how that is possible that the car would need this work since the car had recently been repaired from an accident and had been extensively completely gone through. His response was you don't want it!? The upselling of unnecessary services is disturbing and criminal. Wasting peoples time and dismissing issues is unacceptable. this isn't the first experience with either of these types of issues here but it will be the last. We will not be returning or buying any vehicles in the future from Nucar. read more

Purchased a new 2024 Santa Fe Hybrid from this dealership, our sales agent was fantastic however venture to the Service Dept. side and not so fantastic. I made an online service appt. for the first oil/filter change along with recall check. Upon completing the appt. online it stated email confirmation would be forthcoming however never happened. For two days I contacted the stated service dept. phone number, which a Receptionist answered and asked how to direct my call and transferred me to the Service Dept., each and every time over the course of two days no answer. I then resorted to the chat app on their website, again just merely asking for confirmation of my appt.. Thank you I will be sending your info over to our team and they will contact you (wrong, no contact). Once again over the course of two days with calls and the chat app. the Dealership came up goose egg, big fat "0" with contact or confirmation via email/phone. My daughter just bought a new Tucson from the same sales agent whom again was fantastic, sorry to say we will all be going elsewhere for Service! ** I finally received an email confirmation reminder of my online scheduled appt. the day prior to the visit at 4:19pm. I will follow up once service is rendered and hopefully the rating stars will go up and this was just a one off experience as far as communications goes. We did have a great experience with the actual purchase of two new vehicles within our family over the last several months.** read more

Had 2 VERY bad sales experiences at Greico Johnston and Hurd Johnston (see my reviews on those dealers). Our experience at Nucar was at the opposite end of the spectrum - couldnt be faulted. No pressure, salesman even completed the sale himself and gave us a small discount when we asked for it - no haggling. Unlike the dealers I have mentioned the Workflow to complete the sale was quick and hassle free. Would def recommend them to anyone. Next time we're in the market for a car THIS is the place we will go. The salesmans name was WILL COREY - an ab so lutely bloody OUTSTANDING young man who has restored my faith in car salesmen. Girlfriend purchased a new 2020 kona from another dealer in Massachusetts, had some emmisiions related problems, took it to 2 different Massachusetts dealers for repairs numerous times. Needless to say, I called tarbox, explained issues, they took care of 7 month old problem in probably less than an hour. Please avoid taking your car here for service. I had my Hyundai towed there about 4 weeks ago after it stalled out while driving. The problem was corrected- albeit temporarily. About a week later, my check engine light came on. I've has this vehicle for 3 years and this is the first time my engine light has ever activated. There are also engine knocking/rattling noises coming from the engine which is also a first for this car. I brought it back to the shop and it was returned to me with the problem resolved- temporarily. A few days later, the check engine light returned. I went back. Again, the mechanics claimed to have found the issue and corrected it only to have that light flash on again a few days later. Meantime, my car presented with the original problem- completely stalling out (fortunately I was at a gas station when it happened). The status now is that the engine light is back on, but I'm using it anyway because I need a loaner vehicle. So the shop that cannot figure out the problem, and possibly caused it in the first place, also cannot supply a loaner vehicle. Tech said he'd reach out when a car became available. That was 3 days ago. I'm finished with this nonsense and am doing business with Norwood Hyundai going forward. This review could be longer as I've had similar bad experiences at Tarbox with the techs not getting the job done-but I think you get the point. Go somewhere else. read more

My three year lease was up so I went back get a new car. This would be my fourth lease from this dealership. I explained our financial situation and what we could afford (retirement). The salesman said no problem. He returned from the finance office with the new lease. The monthly payment almost doubled! (75% increase) They wouldn't give us any credit for the near $7000. equity in the car. "That is the best we can do", and they let us walk out the door. We went to a different dealership and got credit for the equity, no money down, same exact model with same features. The payment went up $35/mo, NOT $206. Don't waste your time. I set up an appointment earlier this week for my vehicle. Upon calling. I told them the clock spring on my vehicle needed to be replaced. The service department employee I talked to asked if I would like him to price it out for me. I said sure. A few minutes later he returned to the phone and told me the price. I asked if I could set up an appointment and asked if first thing Saturday morning was available. He said yes. I asked if I could drop my vehicle off the night before to make sure it gets worked on and he said no problem. I dropped it off Friday night. Saturday at 1:30 I still had not heard from them so figured I would call. The service department employee I spoke to said my vehicle had still not been seen and it was looking like it would not be seen until Monday. I told him I needed my car back that day and that this was unacceptable. I asked why bother making an appointment for first thing Saturday morning if it still wasn't even going to be looked at that day. He said there were about 45 cars in the queue ahead of mine, which makes no sense if my appointment was supposed to be one of the first of the day. He said they could help me with a rental but then refuted his point and said the person who handles that stuff was already gone for the day. A rental in my opinion was pretty unacceptable as a clock spring generally takes less than an hour to replace and I had an early morning appointment. He said he understood if I wanted to just take my car and go but would also hold it in the off chance that they could get to it that day. I told him to call me either way by a time I had a chance to pick my car up that day as I needed it the following day. At 4 pm he calls me back to tell me there are no clock springs in stock and I would have to bring my vehicle back when they got more in stock. To me this is absolutely unacceptable. I told them earlier in the week I needed a new clock spring, they priced one out for me, they let me bring my car in, they let my car sit there for over 24 hours, just to call me and say they don't have one in stock and I would have to pick up my car and return at a later date. Why didn't they tell me the day I called to make an appointment that they had none in stock and that I should call back in a week or two to see if any are in stock prior to making an appointment. An absolute waste of time as it took me over 2 hours round trip yesterday to drop off my car and an hour and 20 minutes round trip today to pick up my car after it did not get repaired. Oh, but they updated the software on my vehicle. Which they could have done while also replacing my clock spring in a week or two. An absolute waste of time and terrible customer service. read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE DEPARTMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They had my suv for almost 4 months and never did what they were supposed to do which was to diagnose 2 problems! Nate and Zac are the two incompetent "service advisors" I dealt with. I called them after they had the suv for a week and they said they would call me when they looked at it. After about 2 months I called again and got the runaround about a foreman being on vacation. I believe I called again, and Nate put me on hold and Zac got on the phone and was very rude! He told me how busy they were and I said that they should have told me that the day I called for an appointment and I would have taken it to another dealer. I asked how much longer and he said he didn't know! I then left a post on one of their pages and I got a generic response like I was having a good time dealing with them. I finally after aprx. 4 months went to take the suv back so It can be serviced by a competent dealer and what a surprise! The suv had a flat tire, a dead battery and basically no gas at all! They must have left it running at some point to charge the battery and used all the gas. No explanation, no apology, nothing! They treated me like I was wasting their time, so we left and we won't ever go back. Just because a person comes to look at a car does not mean they are going to buy it if it has a multitude of things wrong with it. Also, don't treat women like they are idiots.
