Stay clear of this dealership and their service department. Hyundais have a white paint issue that was covered for repair under a recall / warranty. After a year of battling to get the issues corrected there body shop did a terrible job, the general manager was non responsive for a vehicle we purchased for a lot of money. They did not blend the paint job, on the panels they did paint was not buffed out in some areas, rough and drips around the car doors. We are still battling with these folks with no real results. Commented that I looked "expensive" prior to sitting down to talk car prices and then proceeded to give me a quote 20k more then their own listed price for the car and add on fake "veteran discounts and student discounts" that don't apply to me all to arrive at a price still 11k more then their own listed price. And was flabbergasted and stood with his mouth open and asked ME what the price was listed for before begging to "cut the bull and really talk" as I walked out the door. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! I had a horrible experience here. I went in to look for a suv and trade my vehicle in September. The only positive experience was our sales person Connor who was knowledgeable and kind, everything else HORRIBLE! The finance person will sit you down and in comes the fancy big screen on his desk where he in larges the screen where you only see your signature section. Shame on me for not asking more questions but I feel like I was pressured into buying over $7,000 almost $8,000 in warranties, everything sounded amazing. Not once did he tell us the amount we were financing! All he kept mentioning was it was just $90 added each month not once did he say the price for each warranty. ( he told me later that he did tell me all the prices but he didn't! ) And I'm sure there's a video of it because he said we were being recorded. I had to email him when I got home to ask him the total that's when I was told the total! They have a small print advertising at the bottom that the price of advertised car price reflects $3,000 down payment... shady when i asked about this I was told all dealerships do this. ( actually no they don't because I went with my son in law to Silko Honda a couple of days ago and they didn't do that and were great!) I went back the next day ( day after buying car and pick up the car ) to cancel some of these warranties and I walked out in tears having a panic attack!! I told Joe ( finance guy ) that I was talking to my sister and she told me that over $7,000 almost $8,000 is a lot in warranties, he then told me in a condescending attitude that if something happens to my car I should then send it to my sister for her to fix it!! I was told to send in the video I had of him being horrible which I did, I emailed the manager and told her I wanted to speak to the owner .... It's now been 2 months not one reply!! Even when I was canceling the warranties which by law I have 30 days to cancel he was still arguing with me saying it's a great deal... STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!! I will be putting in a complaint to Hyundai corporate too! This guy Joe should not work with the public! Oh he also told me that HE gave me 6.3% interest rate and he could've given me 13% lol I earned the 6% interest due to my credit score being 740! Like he was doing me a favor!! I'm also stuck with a $440 a month payment until I refinance because they submitted the total with all the warranties before I was able to cancel the warranties the next day. 1.5 months later they sent $6,300 to the lender to subtract from the loan for the canceled warranties ( 2 of them couldnt be canceled because they had already been added to the car ) now I'm stuck with a $440 payment that couldnt be changed! On June 31 2024 we had purchased a 2024 Hyundai Tuscon from Benjamin at Empire Hyundai in Fall River. Copy of the registration was not provided to us until 7/16. I was told I could bring the car back for the inspection sticker or get it myself and they would reimburse us the cost of $35 sticker fee. I chose to get it myself. , on 7/22 we sent in the receipt along with the copy of the inspection report to Benjamin. Benjamin said the check would be mailed out within a week.it's now 8/31 a full 5 weeks later and 4 phone calls later and they have not reimbursed us for the sticker. Benjamin nor empire have returned my calls or provided us with any explanation as to why they have not refunded us the $35 *** It's now 9/20/24 , 2 weeks after the first review in which Kasey the Marketing Director asked that I reach out to her. 3 times I tried and left messages. She never returned not 1 phone call. The last try She did text back my wife and said that we were never given a voucher for reimbursement, but she has cleared it with her bosses and we will receive a check promptly. Still no check. All smoke and mirrors. Kasey says she wants to help in the review then does nothing. Ben thru the company for the 3 time ssays they are writing a reimbursement check and does nothing. At this time my family has a 2024 Tuscon , a 2023 Tuscon and a 2024 Kia Niro. Went in to Empire Hyundai to buy a used Kona. When I arrived there was a literal crowd of sales reps on the side walk in front of the door vaping, talking on their phones. I had to ask them to let me pass. I should have turned around then. After telling my sales rep what I was looking for he asked me to fill out a credit application and provide a credit card before my test drive. When they gave me payment options they offered an incredibly low payment ($101) but it was $101/week not per month. That is very misleading. When I asked what the interest rate was they refused to answer me. Then a finance guy told me that he couldn't tell me the rate, said the rate was "computer generated". When I said I was leaving bc of the refusal to share the rate the finance director came out of a back room and yelled at me that the rate was 6.15%. Well, if that was only true..... When I ran the rate through a rate calculator I got a cheaper payment when my calculator defaulted to a 9% rate! When I questioned why my paperwork stated I was borrowing more money than the cost of the car AFTER putting $5000 down, they told me that the price they quoted had already taken the down payment into account. (The ads stated the price was $20.500 yet I was borrowing $22,000 AFTER my down payment). When I told them I was walking away the finance mgr came out shouting at me that it was MY fault, that I didn't understand how pricing works. The scene was VERY ugly. I literally thought I was going to get punched. Then to top it all off, I had to return to retrieve my credit card. Even then the floor mgr tried to get me to buy. He followed me into the parking lot (in front of the crowd of vaping sales reps) trying to get me to buy. This was the definition of High pressure, dishonest selling. I felt unsafe and didn't trust ANYONE at the store. If you have to go there watch out, they will not treat you well or at least take complete advantage of you!! Horrible communication, deceptive, unprofessional. I really try to not leave bad reviews unless they are completely warranted. And in this case, I am going to join my voice to the people who say if they could give zero stars they would. We bought our car from Empire on November 30. We worked with Sony who, initially seemed sweet, a little disorganized, and probably a novice, but overall not a terrible experience. We were there for hours, dropped $8000, signed an "immediate delivery" contract and then barely heard from them for an entire week. And then we did not receive the car for two weeks. Far from an immediate delivery. The 30th was a Saturday, and we were told that we would hear from Sony on Monday at 3:30. My spouse took time off from work to take that call because it was probably going to require some time, and even if we had gotten the car by midweek, we would have considered that sort of immediate. 3:30 comes, no call. We get a text from Sony saying that absolutely, Tuesday at 3:30, we will hear from her. Nope. Wednesday, nope. And there were several texts sent to her, and emails and phone messages left. Bu Thursday we called the manager because, come on. Told by manager that she was out sick. We are reasonable people, and life happens. Could you not communicate that? And at the very least if you knew that, could Sony have asked another sales rep to take over temporarily or at LEAST have someone communicate this to us instead of leaving us hanging? Super unprofessional. Maybe we didn't buy a 2025 model, but you took almost 10,000 from us and then just leave us hanging? So we finally get some communication and an appointment time y is made for us to meet at the DMV on December 13th. Two weeks later. One caveat I will provide, is that we live in Connecticut, and the dealership is in Massachusetts. There are some additional hoops to jump through for this transaction, but these hoops involved in making an online appointment, which anyone could've done and for us to sign a couple of extra pieces of paper which we did at the dealership. So if you are from anywhere, but Massachusetts, don't buy here. So, now I took some time off from work, my spouse had already taken time off of work for no reason, and we were to meet Sony at the DMV. Well, empire sent some other guy with the paperwork in the car, who says as soon as we get there "I don't even know how to register a car. I've never done this before." Very cool. Well, luckily my spouse and I have done this before and I do want to say that the gentleman that was sent was very nice and professional, and I have no doubt he was just told to do this, even though it was likely out of the scope of what he usually does. Now the process of getting my trade-in check sent to the bank for the car I traded in is some new fresh hell. So they took my trade-in, the new car is registered. Received after two weeks when an immediate delivery was promised. Logic would dictate that the dealership would send the check in at least reasonably soon after this happens. In fact, I was told by the finance guy that they don't send the check in until the car was registered. Again, December 13 this happened. First of the year rolls around, I've already had to make one payment on a car. I no longer drive and my next payment is coming up soon again, I am not unreasonable, and I understand these things can take time... However, ridiculous every step of the way.... A customer can be understanding if there's an honest attempt at even a little bit of professional courtesy or communication. This did not happen at all. Fast forward to February... I had considered not even posting this review, but I barely have the car for two months and it already needs rear differential replaced, and the touch screen component is jacked up and needs to be replaced. After purchasing my 2020 Subaru I began to deal with several sales managers who were not able to follow thru with the promises I was told that they would. Instead after my daughter left a negative review staff (michelle) proceeded to call my daughter her place of employment to complain about the review and several other employees took the time to leave negative FAKE reviews on her employers website. I would not recommend this dealership! Alex was my salesman. I went in specifically for a 2023 Ford Bronco with 23k miles. When signing the paperwork there was no mention of a 3,000 additional charge for a warranty and another 1,000 for Gap insurance. Yes I signed the paperwork but I did not read the fine print until later. There was no mention of would you like to add this warranty for x amount of dollars. I waited 45 min for the car to get detailed and the tank was on empty when I test drove it so they put $15 worth of gas in it. I had to leave by 9:30 am for work and the car was not ready until 9:45. I had to rush out of there. The second I got in the vehicle I noticed 1 key. I asked about the other key and was told used cars only come with 1 but they would check to see if there was another and if not look into getting me one. I messaged Alex twice regarding the key and was told there wasn't one. I looked into the cost of getting a second key and didn't feel like it was fair to have to pay for another key when spending in total 33k on a vehicle. I called exactly 8 days after purchasing the Bronco and said if I couldn't get another key could I return the vehicle. Alex made the comment to be honest with you I made negative 3k on selling you this vehicle. In other words he couldn't be bothered with me. I thought that was the most unprofessional comment. He told me he would talk to his manager and get back to me in 5 minutes. I never heard back from him so I sent a message hours later. He told me that his manager said I am now the owner of the vehicle and there is nothing they can do for me. Then he said we can revisit this in the morning. I waited 2 days and still nothing. I emailed the general manager Trevor He emailed me back but seemed to have an answer/excuse for everything. He told me there was a Special Customer rate for a spare key. I asked what that rate was and never heard back. It has been weeks and I still have not heard about my plates and registration. I would rate my experience a 0 if I could. So I guess I will say a 1. The car was sold the day beforehand even though I put in a credit application for the vehicle. No one told me that it was sold until I came in and then they just tried to sell me another vehicle when that was the only standard available. There were none comparable to it. I specifically told them that I was only looking for that one vehicle. I'm very upset about it. I don't know why you would sell a vehicle that someone has an appointment to buy and if you do then you probably should tell the person who is coming in for that vehicle. I told the online team that my credit isn't great, that I would like my report ran beforehand so I know for a fact that I qualify for a vehicle with my $1200 down. They responded that everything was up to par and yes I did qualify for the vehicle. Then your salesman told me I didn't qualify for anything on the lot. I have an extremely busy schedule and limited availability to go shop for a car in the first place so I was trying not to waste any time. If the car was sold I would have travelled somewhere else, I called in to express my issue and see what solutions were available and the guy I spoke to argued with me, kept talking over me, yelling at me, etc. I went to another dealership and had no issues getting a car that was actually more expensive than the one I was originally looking at. I got back to the dealership and filled out my credit check paper and awaited their response. The monthly payments and interest they tried to give me was unreal. A few days ago I brought my car to the service department for an oil change and to look at some things going wrong with it. My car was a 2009, and had a 120,000 miles on it. Take note of the low rating of this business everyone; there is a good reason for it. The only reason I give Empire Hyundai 2 stars instead of 1 is because I had a good and informative test drive. The rest of my experience here was pretty awful. They claim they can work with you if your credit isn't great, but that is not accurate. What they will do is ask to run your credit report, and come back with outrageous offers and "requirements" for you to purchase a car when the rating is less than stellar. I know their offers were complete BS, because when I bought my current car, I was offered a much more reasonable deal under very similar credit circumstances. In fact, I had far more money down this time around, and they still couldn't make anything happen within reason. The truth is, this dealership only wants to work with you if you have great credit. If you don't, they think you will be naive enough to fall for an absolutely ridiculous monthly payment or an insane amount of $$ down to make things happen. Buyer beware! This dealership was the worst car buying experience I've ever had. Between Bella in finance coaching my partner to lie in the loan interview because they lied on the loan application to the bank regardless of the fact we reported to them accurate income and expenses. The fact that they tried to hold our down payment after the deal was cancelled (was never disclosed that said down payment is non refundable) and other countless times we were told mis or conflicting information over the 4 days we were trying to complete this deal. This car buying experience was horrible. Before I go any further I want to say that Kelly Diaz is a wonderful and really cares about her guests and works very hard to see that they are happy with their choice of cars. It's the rest of the sales personell and the service department. I was promised that the front and rear bumper of my car would be fixed, yeah they put a new rear bumper on it but the front bumper and the spoiler have the clear coat peeling, so as if that wasn't enough here is the spark plug we pulled out today, in Virginia after the ignition coil went. This is unacceptable, I have only had the car for 3 months, really your service department is shameful! How DARE YOU! My son and I could have been killed!
