Every step of the process was laid out in detail and The job was even done 5 days earlier than quoted! The shop was even nice enough to make some extra repairs for no charge as a military discount! The inside of the shop was sparkling sparkling and clean and the wonderful auto mechanics were friendly and always kept me up to date with the status of my vehicle! The invoicing was absolutely flawless and I was charged exactly what was quoted. In fact, I paid less than quoted, considering the extra repairs done as a military discount! The warranty is very considerate and generous, right along the lines with what the dealership itself offered. Furthermore, I paid about $2,000 less than I was quoted by the Chevrolet dealership in Putnam, Connecticut. Upon getting into my vehicle I was blown away of the performance! My Chevy Impala drives like brand new with 155,000 mi on it and a brand new transmission and I am confident I could probably drive it another 155,000 miles or more! He's nothing like the dealerships that will up charge you for every nut, bolt and part and scare you into work that you may or may not need done immediately. My whole family brings our cars to him for everything, oil changes, brakes, tire rotation, faulty sensors, transmission fluid, you name it! He even fixed my trunk when it wasn't opening. He's a 1 man show, so it may take a little extra time but it's so worth it for the honesty, and not paying dealership prices.

Since none of my experiences have been great I think 1 star is being more than generous. The reason behind my bad review is that you are given nothing in writing so it's all verbal, and then they don't have to honor anything they say. About 4 1/2 years ago I had them put a transmission in my car and was promised a 5 year warranty. I then went on to have a transmission flush the next year and a radiator replaced here the following year. Well, my transmission has gone in the car again and when we called for an appointment my husband was told there was no record of them having put the transmission in. I then had to look up my account with them and find a copy of the work they did (which shows they put in a transmission with no additional information). After showing them this work order they charged me $65 to diagnose the car as having a "dead transmission". As a person who has gone through these classes at NEIT I can tell you that a "dead transmission" is not a true diagnosis. My husband was told they no longer purchase transmissions and would not be able to help him anymore before telling him they were open until 7:30 and he needed to get the car before then. Since I get home around 6 he wanted to wait for me to bring him to get the car. The shop then calls my husband at 5:30 and says he needs to come get it now as they are closing early for the day and he would be charged storage fees if it wasn't gone. My husband walked over (less than 5 minutes from where we live on Lincoln St) to find him backing out of the lot in his car to leave for the day. So he had no intention of letting my husband actually get there, but rather thought it would be better to charge us storage fees. My husband then tries to ask him questions regarding the issues with the car only to be rushed out and told our only option was to buy a transmission and bring it to him to be put in, but no real answers as to what was wrong. I feel completely cheated and can't believe he would charge to tell us he wouldn't actually do anything to the transmission at a transmission shop.

I brought my 1990 ford f150 pickup truck in for a transmission leak that was fixed in about 3 weeks…read morehowever he informed me that the transmission was not shifting which I found to be very odd because the truck shifted the last time it was driven. After one month he determined it was the computer board and said he needed the money up front to pay for the board, which I did but after the first one not working, he ordered another one which also did not work. Now he tells me that the transmission had to be changed, he said he needed $3000 for a new one and when my wife delivered the money, she asked him if that was out the door, which means no other coasts installed and the truck running. The new transmission was installed by the third month, when asked what else he had to do he replied just had to install the drive shaft (maybe 2 0r 3 hours) and install the shift cables and that I should be driving it by next week. June July and august go by with me calling every week and sometimes twice a week I was getting the same excuse I will be driving it next. week This truck I bought for my granddaughter who needed transportation to her high school internship but because the truck was and still is not ready, she was forced to empty her savings account to buy just any form of transportation. The Friday before thanksgiving i went to the shop to see for myself what was left to be done, this is where I found the truck still up on the lift where it was from day one the drive shaft leaning against the wall collecting dust was my drive shaft untouched. again, I asked him this time in person when it would be done, he assured me that I would be driving it next week, I revisited him two weeks after thanksgiving and everything was exactly the same. Now we are into January still calling every week he now informs me that he has to send the drive shaft out to be lengthen because the ne transmission was shorter than the original one he got that back in a week but not installed. The next week in informed me that the drive shaft had to be resent out to be lengthen it seem the piece he put in was measured wrong and now had to shorten. I asked him would was doing the measuring was it Ray Charles. He said no it was him. I have no confidence that this drive shaft will hold up. By this time, we are now into February one year later and still no truck. after reading the reviews not only is he taken advantage of the elderly and disabled veterans but people of all ages. For the life of me I don't understand how someone in this business can tie up their lift for 14 months that's right 14 months and still no truck it can't be the money because I paid for everything up front in full. he says that he is going to get it done but when asked when no answer I said to him I hope I get it back why i am still able to drive. From most of the reviews I've read this is his SOP hold the vehicle hostage and then wants to charge you more money or replace parts with lesser quality products. I have not had a chance to examine my truck to see if anything else is broken or missing or changed out. he doesn't even desire one star

We drove the truck here and the guy who helped us had our car in the garage within ten minutes! Within an hour they had figured out what was wrong with the truck and got everything approved by us. The shop has repeatedly failed to rebuild an engine correctly, with issues arising within 3,000 to 6,000 miles, necessitating further warranty repairs. This has resulted in waiting periods of 8 to 16 months to have the vehicle returned. Communication has been consistently poor, as there is frequent turnover among service managers and technicians, leading to a lack of continuity and clarity regarding service status. After recently picking up my truck for warranty work on the motor third time in a row, after waiting 9 months for them to fix the truck. which required rebuilding once again, I was informed that they would no longer honor the warranty for this job. Additionally, the customer service experience was disappointing, as the representative I spoke with was unprofessional and abrupt. We strongly recommend seeking alternatives, as it appears this shop does not prioritize customer care nor stick to a warrenty policy.
