This place is awful. My car broke down due to a known issue that was scheduled to be fixed by my dealership within a few days (safety feature that failed which caused the car to completely shut down). AAA was called and they dispatched Entwistle's. While I'm waiting for their driver to show up, the owner keeps texting me to have the car towed to his garage to get it fixed. He tells me that it's my starter, he's seen this plenty of times and he can get it fixed really quick and give me a loaner while it's being worked on. I tell him that it's not my starter, that I already know what it is, and it's scheduled to be fixed by my dealership within a few days, the part has already been purchased, etc. He kept texting me, these long text messages, pressuring me to have it towed there and basically telling me that it's my starter and I don't know what I'm talking about. I was flabbergasted. How do you know what's wrong with my car without even looking at it? And why do you think it's ok to keep texting me? When someone is stranded on the side of the road, the last thing they want is someone pressuring them for business. read more

When I was attending UMASS Amherst I drove by Entwistle's everyday for class for a duration of four years; and, I thought to myself, wow- I would like to own a business like that post graduation. Until they towed my car. I was hospitalized for the last two weeks and when my father called to retrieve my vehicle the employee at Entwistle's said the car was totaled. I've been driving my Toyota Camry for two days with no issue. That being said I don't appreciate the nefarious malevolence in an action to steal my car. I was a customer and employee of this establishment. I was in the tow department. I did overnights and on call weekends for Charlie Entwistle. I worked over 120 hours a week and saw 200$. I brought in over 4000$ worth of tows, most of them were totaled cars that he could flip and sell. I had to fight to even get paid the full 200$ because Charlie hired two managers, one of them only having sales experience and the other a drunk. Which Charlie knows this guy drinks and drives and does nothing about. This driver has left old ladies on the side of the road because he was too under the influence to jumpstart her battery. Both my husband and I got robbed out of thousands of dollars for working for this crook. Charlie literally has people work for him to support his drug habit. This guy is out of control. He will call and badger customers into bringing their vehicle to the shop so he can cause further damage to their car. This is how he gets customers to eventually sign over their vehicle so he can get the insurance company to total it. Charlie also doesn't have his trucks up DOT standards. There are no safety equipment of any sorts on the trucks. Whether it was reflectors, fire extinguishers, first aid kits etc. We also didn't have the proper equipment to do the job on the trucks either. The owner has told everyone on the group chat to avoid certain areas because DOT had set up shop and was looking for trucks who weren't in compliance. The TerraStar International has a broken E Brake Cable and nobody has fixed it. That's just some of the stuff that's wrong with the trucks. I could go on about everything else I've seen. Someone is going to get seriously hurt. I do not recommend this place at all. Stay clear of Entwistles Garage. read more

This place is a bunch of scam artists. I had my car towed here once after a small accident in the snow. They said they worked with my insurance company and would cover half the deductible so I figured ok. They somehow called my Mom's cell phone and told her I wouldn't be safe unless they did they work, so she was scared out of her mind too. It took them 4 weeks to fix my car (2 weeks longer than quoted) which was mostly some plastic body work and a front tire. THEN when I left my dash lit up with all sorts of warning lights. They told me to come back and it would take an hour to fix. I ended up missing work that day. On a separate occasion I blew a tire and didn't have a spare so I got towed to them again from AAA at night. I called them in the morning because I figured a tire wasn't a bog deal. I told Lucas I needed it done right away or to just tow my car to Town Fair Tire and I would have them do it. He said it would be done by 10AM. It wasn't until 2PM when the tire showed up. Magically my check engine light came on when I left the garage. I drove it down the street to another shop and the guy said it looked like a sensor had been purposefully misaligned to turn the light on. There were several other people (many of them elderly) in the room complaining about taking too long and charging too much my second time there. Please don't make this mistake. read more

Absolutely love this place!! Been coming here since moving to the area and they have always been reliable and knowledgeable. They also now have an app where they send you a link to your cars diagnostics. That way you can see exactly what they found during their inspection and what work your car needs done. It includes price estimates etc. They once told me I needed my car battery replaced and I ignored them thinking they just wanted my money or that it wasn't that urgent. My battery died in the Starbucks parking lot a week later. Definitely recommend this place!! read more

While it's great they offer free towing for doing business with them, their customer service is absolutely horrible. They are extremely disorganized. I took my girlfriends car there to have two front tires on and a alinement done. They charged 90 dollars for the alinement and never received an alinement analysis and the car still pulls hard to the left. When picking up the car they told me that the car needed the axel replaced and that it would be 450 dollars. I called around got quotes from FOUR other shops and they ALL quoted me 220$ this place is outrageous in prices and far from quality work. 10/10 would NEVER recommend! read more

My car wouldn't start at my home so I called Urgent.ly for service. They told me that Entwistle's would be the service to show up at my home within an hour. When an hour and 15 minutes passed with no service yet, I called Urgent.ly back for a status. I was told that for no reason given, Entwistel's had cancelled my request for service but never bothered to let Urgent.ly know. Another garage had to be contacted for my service and I had to wait another hour for service. I can understand how busy it must be on a Saturday but to just cancel without letting anyone know is unacceptable and very poor service. read more

Let me tell you about my experience with Entwistle's Garage. First off all getting into an accident is a stressful and traumatic experience. My car was totaled and sent there. The insurance company was trying to screw me on the value. CHARLIE who works there is fantastic. Not only did he help me get a rental easily but he worked hours on end trying to get me the most for my car. The insurance company gave me 1k more than the original estimate. Which essentially closed the gap between what I owed to the lienholder. I will never forget this. It changed my life. I would totally recommend this place for anyone in my situation. If anyone needs mechanic work, i do NOT RECOMMEND Entwistles Garage in Leicester. I always do my own work on our cars but i figured id let them do a radiator flush. Now i've got a broken radiator? They almost would not let us leave until we agreed to have them do the job. Which they quoted me $788 to do. They told me 5 hours and over $200 for the radiator. I found the radiator on RockAuto for only 75 bucks. My cooling system was absolutely perfect before we went there. Learned my lesson. read more

I have been going to Entwistle's for 8 years now- and I truly cannot believe the negative reviews on here! I stopped in with a quick problem driving by, and they diagnosed a huge problem instantly- and lent me a car while they fixed it! I drove a 94 camry with over 180,000 miles on it, and thanks to Lucas and Charlies TLC, I passed it down to my younger brother- it now has over 225,000 miles on it, and runs great! Lucas is knowledgable, kind, and will not let you leave the shop with an unsafe vehicle- sometimes even if you can't afford the work! When I bought a car from a dealer, Lucas looked it over, and found six or seven problems that the dealer hid from us! Lucas wrote it all out, and the dealer did it under my warranty. I was their customer as a broke college kid, and could often barely afford the work on my car- they gave me discounts almost every time I went in, did payment plans, and did some work for free! Now that I have a job, I bring in my new car every time it needs to be fixed. If you value family businesses, if you care about your car, shop here. read more

I have had repairs done at Entwistles for the past year. It seems every time I have work done with in a few months I have to have the same thing repaired. Last Wednesday morning I went out and I had no power steering. They repaired the power steering in Aug. It should not have gone out that fast. They had my car from Wed. to Fri. I called them Friday and spoke to Lucas was supposed to call me right back. He never did. I called 3 more times. Lucas was out to lunch or he could not be located. I called at 4pm and asked to speak to someone else. I was told Lucas will call you. Well today is Sunday and I still do not have my car. I had to cancel my plans for the weekend. I will never go back to them again and never tell anyone to go there. read more

I was given a fair price and I am satisfied with the work. I had to wait about 45 minutes to get my truck in, but I had not set up an appointment. My car is ONLY serviced at Entwistle's Garage. From inspection stickers to oil changes to everything that needs fixing! I have had easy situations for them to fix, but it has been the times when I have been in major distress when they seem to shine the most. Mad for ever listening and getting sucked in! Smiles, analogies will lead you to skipping a mortgage on your house. Get a second opinion before Lucas relays a message to you from the mechanic who doesn't quality check his work. Loaner cars, they do have but are not reliable. Get a rental for safety. Document, take pictures or film, I am glad I did! Be careful, repairing a flat is much different than changing a water pump then all of a sudden a gasket from some unknow origin? I can't blame Entwistles, I blame myself partly, I feel Charlies heart is in the right place but he needs a master foreman mechanic that knows his job. If you can't do a job, don't keep charging someone for your mistakes, you should help the customer and admit you screwed up...they will not and Lucas will not return your calls when things are bad...gaurenteed.. Second opinion, be smart, take picture, document so when it comes time to litigate and they try to say " we didn't do it, the other place did it", you now have them for pergury and they may be very surprised. This place is awful. They are overpriced and just flatter you with a bunch of crap while the don't fix your car properly. I went in with my VW for a timing belt service. Every kit money can buy includes a water pump with a metal impeller to replace the plastic stock one. They charged me 500 for the timing belt when online you can buy one for 250 that includes everything and more. I highly recommend you do not bring your car here. Paid 1200 in total for a 90k mile service and I could have done the job better myself. Terrible. All I can say is terrible. Now I find myself spending another 600-800 dollars depending on labor because my water pump blew out. Only way to fix a water pump is by fixing the timing belt with it. It's not rocket science guys. Maybe you need better mechanics and not someone who can just sit there and bullshit you about your car. Typical mechanic. THEY ALSO CUT THE SUBARU BADGE I HAD HANGING OFF MY TOW HOOK. IT WAS MY BEST FRIENDS BADGE. Did I ask you to cut it off? No. What if it meant something special to me. You guys are terrible. I hope you aren't cowards and hide this review because the world needs to know not to go here for auto repairs. read more

They gave me 2 loners both broke down in the same day once with 4 kids in the car the frame broke ended up with a flat tire had to pull over. Left the car on the side of the road with 4 scared kids. I am new to this area and at the end of January, I lost control of my car in a snow storm and hit a mailbox and did a fair amount of damage to my car. I was absolutely panicked and stressed out about the damage to my car. Entwistle was initially dispatched by my insurance company to tow my car to a repair shop. When Entwistle called me to confirm the details, I ended up on the phone with the owner who took the time to talk to me, explain the process and how he can help me after business hours and from his personal cell phone. After speaking to him, I was immediately calmed and reassured that he would help me and that everything would be ok. I was also able to save money by renting a loaner car from the shop which was a huge savings and very convenient for me. Entwistle not only repaired my vehicle to the point that it looks brand new, but went above and beyond by doing an oil change which was needed and cleaned the inside and outside of my car! I am so impressed by the repair on my car and the timeliness in which the work was completed. They were able to save me a substantial amount of money at the end of the day and went above and beyond by helping me with a payment plan that worked for me. I can't begin to tell you how glad I am to have had my car serviced and repaired with Entwistle Garage. I would not only recommend this to good friends and family but I will absolutely be bringing my car back for all of my car maintenance and repair needs. read more
