We needed to tow our car from Rutland MA to Rhode Island on a Sunday. They responded quickly through AAA and were at our house within the hour and sent pictures of our car delivered. Great service!

He and his crew did a great job and I believe pays more attention to detail than the BMW dealership. I will take all my cars to him in the future. Absolute hacks...and biggest liar I've ever met. **** Update…read more4/27/26 I had forgotten that my wife had a mini dash cam in the car showing front/rear. I will be posting a youtube video about this shop later this week. Will post the link here. It proves all that I've claimed (and they denied) This review, although long, may be helpful to non savvy automotive people. First and foremost, I was a dealer technician for over 20 years mostly for German and Swedish car dealers. That was after being diesel mechanic in the military for over 8 years. Since then, I've gotten into other things so my time has been limited. We also own 8 vehicles so I sometimes sublet some repairs, such as my wifes Mercedes ML350 just last week with Joe's automotive. This is the diesel version which has been amazing for 7 years. Never once has it failed. I'm pretty sure it has (never) even had a check engine light on since we've owned it. Anyway, it needed some fairly simple maintenance stuff and took it to Joe's. The two main things neded: new motor mounts and serpentine belt along with an oil change. I supplied the parts from a very reputable online supply house (FCP Euro) that Joe agreed to install by phone days before. This was the first time I've ever used this shop. I agreed to bring it in on Saturday (4/11/26) he said more than once that he'd only be there until "exactly 12" - and he knew we were coming. We got there at 11:42 and the place was locked up tighter than a drum, rude. I ended up writing everything down again on the key drop envelope and left it. Days later, he calls back trying to sell me that it's all set. It was close to his closing time so I said we'd be there in the morning. Luckily, I called in the morning before leaving. Joe then explains that our vehicle is "barely running" and in limp mode. I thought he was kidding at first. He seemed totally stumped as to what was wrong which was concerning to say the least. Hours later, he calls and trys to sell me a sensor that should NEVER have been touched for my requested work, I thought, (nonsense) part was fine. Then explains that I have an aluminum turbo intake pipe that is also broken, and leaking air. A pipe THEY needed to REMOVE to access the serpentine belt. Joe then tells me that it was "broken previously" and talked in circles. He went on and on how these things can happen "out of nowhere" not knowing I was a mechanic as well, at the time. He then complained about how much time he had "wasted" on this vehicle and reminded me again, he wanted it gone. Hours later he called and assured me that it was now "fixed" and we should come soon. It was once again, almost shop closing time so I explained that we'd have to come the following late morning which he didn't seem happy about. I arrived there without any bad attitude, none. I'm well aware that things break, and I wanted to go over everything in person. I simplywanted to "see" what happened and pay the bill. However, in my experience, mechanics are like some cops.... they don't like to have their SAY "questioned" even when wrong. SO, we pop the hood on my wifes vehicle and my jaw nearly dropped (some pictures attached) I've NEVER seen such hack work in my entire life. Not only was it beyond shoddy work, it said: I don't care about your vehicle, or your safety and I'm going to lie to your face and get "huffy" when you don't buy the bs. He ran a BOLT that was flopping around (threaded to nothing) jammed between live fuel lines to support the turbo intake that THEY broke. I immediately said.... wow! I've never seen something like this, it's not even safe. I still WAS NOT nasty about it. Joe however went ON and ON about how they didn't do it, I can't prove it, it's old (every excuse you can imagine) Just sat behind the desk sounding like Joe Pesci denying everything. ** However! I just recently replaced the fuel and air filters on this same vehicle. As my usual practice, I took pictures of the engine so everything goes back to factory specs. In these couple of pictures it shows my turbo intake, NOT BROKEN which I showed to Joe.... he yet still continued to DENY, because... he's a liar. Funny thing is, if they told me it broke, I wouldn't have cared. While still in the office, waiting to pay the BILL that he didn't have prepared, his wife threatened to "Call da' POLICE" I actually laughed and offered to do the same. As I went outside and started the Mercedes, I immediatly noticed that the radio, climate control not working as well as "SOS" flashing on the dash. None of which were EVER an issue. Of course, Joe knew nothing about that on an 89 degree day, after his "road test" I poked my head in the door and asked about it just prior to leaving. Within 6-7 miles driving home, it lost power and we needed to have it towed. Instead of fixing his horrid work myself, I'm having it towed to Mercedes of Springfield and will file suit of all expenses. Joe did everything except set the vehicle on fire.

Andrea's mechanic brought it to Mac's who told them my BMW needed a footwell module... It did not!!! It needed a bulb housing unit. Huge difference in cost, both for the part as well as the labor. Installation is literally a 20 minute job, but the module needs to be programmed to the car and key, which is why the car ended up at Mac's. When he said I was done I told Ben the light still wasn't working and he told me to go buy a bulb because he didn't have one. The key wasn't properly coded to the module the first day I took the car home. The next day, after I drove it from there to Shrewsbury and then back to Leicester, he called telling me it was fixed. He failed to mention, that my car which was driven there on more than one occasion, was now completely dead in his parking lot. When I inquiried as to what the issue was, he handed me a list of things he said "might fix it", thinking I would actually allow him to ever work on a vehicle of mine again. He had already demonstrated his standards of proper business etiquette or lack thereof, as well as questionable tactics to me. I had to call my fiance to come jump my car and leave it charging for approx 10 min, just to get it home. He left it that dead, you got it!! Once I got it started, it was revving up and down by itself, which it definitely wasn't doing before. Upon further inspection I discovered oil leaking all over my alternator, blue scratches on my white car that it didn't have, a footwell module it didn't need had been installed and the original problem, being the reverse light, still in need of repair. I gave him an opportunity to make it right before I left reviews. I told him I was a reviewer when I met him, so I asked him if he wanted the key so he could make it as it was when it was brought to him. His response was to smirk and to say to me "na, you can take it". This happened in January, it's now the first week of April and I'm still trying to repair everything he did to it, in his attempt to squander money from me. I feel the need to mention he did know that I'm physically disabled due to a stroke. The fact that he took advantage of a disabled person, returned the vehicle in the condition he did, lied about what the problem was so he could charge the dealer for a top dollar job the car didn't need, shows his lack of morals... All to make money off of unsuspecting people. Is it not obvious that I test drove the car, checked under the hood, and thoroughly inspected the vehicle before I purchased it? I guess he thought I wouldn't notice everything he did to it. By far the worst automotive mechanic I've ever encountered. Any mechanic that thinks nothing of handing a completely dead vehicle back to their customer should be ashamed of themselves. Do not trust anything Mac's tells you. If you're adimant about using this shop, I have no clue why one world be ... I advise you to get a second opinion and thoughroughly inspect your car before leaving it here. Take pictures as proof because he will lie and smile about it. This business survives by fraudulently diagnosing vehicles and performing unnecessary repairs. Please beware. Fyi, I had to replace the alternator he covered with oil due to the oil filter seal he broke. Then I bought my own diagnostics machine, to fix the car. Are you dying to know what it was??? I need to clean the engine air control valve. My vehicle ending up at Mac's cost me the preceding parts he ruined as well as 2 months worth of insurance money for a car I couldn't drive!! (The alternator powers the battery and the oil that spilled inside ruined it ... that's why I needed to charge the battery to get it home!!)

They didn't touch the front, stating they had plenty of life on them ,and they weren't out to take my money. When I arrived to pick up the car, I was met with a $1,200 invoice for a new brake system. I was not warned about it at all. Great start. Now my brand new expensive braking system could not stop my car until I pushed the pedal all the way to the back. The mechanic said there's nothing he could do to bleed the excess air out of my "complicated" brake system so I had to leave like that. I took my car to my old mechanic who informed me there is a leaky brake caliper that was installed and it needs to be replaced by the mechanic who put it in because it should still be under warranty. So I brought the car all the way back only to be told no, there is no leak. He had no idea what I was talking about. Yet, he did end up replacing it anyway and the brake felt slightly better. I took the car back to my old mechanic and they got the excess air out and my car braking perfectly! My old mechanic also informed me that these guys installed a COMPRESSION FITTING onto my BRAKE LINE, which is a big NO. I will never come here again. All I wanted was brake pads and rotors, and at least a warning that it could need more work than that. I would rather drive the 25 miles with my car on fire to my old mechanic than come back here.

I had the car towed to a shop for appraisal. Not having collision insurance I didn't know how things were supposed to be handled. The person I spoke to was Bill Roberts. He said my frame was bent and would probably total the car. He said he was waiting for GEICO to show up. Not knowing how things were handled I thought my insurance company had to view my car to accept the claim of the other driver or something. Again I realize my naivety in this now. The car was at this location for three days. I called every day and reminded Bill that I didn't have collision insurance and if the car was to be totaled I wanted to move it before incurring fees. Bill again told me he was still waiting for GEICO. It wasn't until I called GEICO that they gave me the clue I needed to see he was taking advantage of me. My own fault for having such a clean driving record that I had no clue? Or sleazy bad business tactics to make a lousy $70 in storage fees by delaying me? You decide...
