Had a great last minute appointment at the Empire Nail Spa. They took my sister and I as walk-ins in less than 10 minutes, this was around 3pm on a Saturday. I got the spa pedicure with gel and a cat eye gel manicure with builder gel as well. They had a good range of options! The location had plenty of parking and the inside is incredibly spacious with a good temperature. As time went on it got more busy with people who had appointments. I've been coming here for pedicures, but this was my first time getting my nails done, and unfortunately it was a very disappointing experience. The biggest issue wasn't even how my nails turned out it was the cleanliness. The technician's supplies were in what looked like a makeup bag with products and tools thrown together. Nothing was organized, labeled, or stored in a way that is up to state board regulations. The tools and products appeared dirty, and I did not see any sanitizing being done. What bothered me the most was that after filing my acrylic, she dusted my hands off with a makeup powder brush that was visibly caked with old product and debris. It was clearly not clean, and I was honestly shocked that it was being used on clients. My nails turned out mediocre, but the sanitation issues were the real reason I won't be returning. Cleanliness and proper sanitation should be the bare minimum when providing services like these. read more

I love coming here to see Kim. The vibes are immaculate (Scroll to see THE BEST 4th of July set EVER). She goes out of her way to make me comfortable sometimes giving me a mask to block acrylic dust. She's so patient with me picking designs, re-doing things if I change my mind, finding perfect color matches. I've actually fallen asleep multiple times on accident because she's not heavy handed & she doesn't care. I'll leave with Pinterest worthy nails every time. They offer complimentary beverages & have great prices for ALL services. I've been coming here for almost a year and they're always super accommodating. I sometimes will come in not knowing what designs I want and they figure it out every time so I don't have to worry. The shape and length are always perfect as well. I would not recommend coming here for a pedicure. We came in for two pedicures, it was regular polish and the entire service felt rushed. When the nail tech put lotion on my feet, instead of rubbing it in she wiped it off with the wax soak which made no sense? After that, once my pedicure was done and my toes needed to dry, she stripped everything off of the tub and foot rest not even leaving me a towel to rest my feet on while they dry. The tub was visibly dirty and I did not feel comfortable putting my bare feet against the tub or the foot rest considering I had never seen either be directly cleaned and based off how dirty it looked, it just was not appealing. She never came back to check on me or offer me slippers. I held my feet up while waiting for my mother to finished her pedi and eventually messed up my nail because of how uncomfortable it was hold my feet up on my own. Luckily, the lady next to us saw and offered me slippers and fixed my nail but instead of redoing the toe she just put a glob of polish and left it at that. For the price of this type of service a customer wants to be 100% relaxed and happy with their results and I was not. We did in fact tell the front desk man, not sure if he is owner but he didn't care. He apologized and quickly tried to end the convo with an empty apology without offering anything to help make the situation better. And that is the reason of this bad review, had he tried to offer us something to create a better situation that would've been great but at this location they do not care if you're upset, as long as they get the payment they are happy and that's not a nail salon that deserves a high rating‍ save your money and go somewhere else! read more

Came here as a referral from a family member and was very disappointed. First , it smelt like farts in there , I think it's the fumes from the gel manicure machines. My manicurist was very rough with me and cut my cuticle on my toe and made me bleed. He seemed rushed when I was there in the early evening. Then when they used towels to clean off my lotion from my massage, they smelled like mildew. When it was all said and done the guy told me my toes were dry and did not offer my those foam slippers. I checked my nails too and thought they were dry but when I got home, sure enough the polish messed up.To top it all off I got warts all over my hands the day after.. can't guarantee they were from here but this never happened until I went to this salon. My mom and I came in here on 7/3 around 3:00 P.M to get spa pedicures. Service: two men helped us and did the pedicures and kinda just did really bad. Both of our nail polish is either bumpy, chipped, or not filed correctly. For the spa treatment they were kinda rough and just it wasn't relaxing at all. But mainly I'm just writing this because of what my toes look like right now. Mine are also looking like this. And following the pedicure polish was left all over my feet. And the person who did mine bumped me with the (I don't know the name lol the spinny thing that gets all the polish off your feet) a few times when getting it too. The place itself was very big and open, and had lots of chairs and workers. Very clean. This location had been my go to when I needed my nails done in a pinch, and up until my last visit I've never had any issues. I came in to get a gel manicure and a shape change. I had gone from a square to an oval and had settled on a simple cat eye after being told my original inspo. picture could not be replicated. Keep in mind these are my natural nails, my nails were trimmed down to shape only at the tip, the square shape continues when it hits my nail bed. And thick layers of acrylic were applied to my nail, which a thin layer for integrity fine, but this as you can see was thick. I think I left with more hangnails than I came in with and my cuticles were raw by the time I left. I came in the following day unhappy with my nails and I was met with an annoyed employee who found it comical when I mentioned the artist who did my nails, as if this happens often. And continued to book my appointment with the same artist. If anything, I felt bad for the artist as I felt she was getting reprimanded. Talk about awkward. I did not go in for my appointment to get them fixed. After being told, I had "chosen that color" I did not feel it worth my time nor energy to come back in and be met with worst customer service. You tell me, would you pay over $70 for these?! I used to like this place, but I would not recommend going forward. read more

I recently got a set done two weeks ago and loved it. The set was done by Andy. After two weeks of having them a nail popped off while I was sleeping. I came in asking to get the nail replaced and trim my natural nail underneath as they were starting to peel away from the acrylic. They quoted me $15. Reasonable enough. The tech who replaced it had to guess the color as I didn't choose the base. Andy chose it and I loved it. The tech then proceeded to trim my acrylic nail. I told her my length was fine, that I just was concerned about my natural nails. She then continued to trim the rest of my acrylic. I couldn't do anything about it then, because then I would have a few shorter nails and a few longer nails. She then attempted to shape them and basically took off any polish that I had on the sides. When it was finished, I had to leave to go to work, so I decided to call back the next day. The more I looked at the nails the worse it got. The edges weren't straight, my natural nails are still there and peeling. When I came in, they asked what i wanted. I explained I wanted the color fixed, and my length back. However they wanna handle that. The receptionist (manager maybe?) started to talked to me like I was a child and explained there was no way for me to get my length back unless I grew them out or got a new full set. I told him well I wanted my length back so whatever they will do. He proceeded to tell me I either can do a fill at a discount later on. Or pay for a full set with a $15 discount. So to fix the mistake that their tech made, I have to pay for it? Well then I sat down and the tech was lovely, offered me water, asked how I was doing. She asked what I wanted and I told her. She started speaking with the man and he came back over and spoke to me again about how I can't just get my length back and if I wanted it I'd have to do a full set. I declined, got my one nail fixed, and left. The entire time, I felt humiliated as all this happened in front of multiple techs and other customers. I left on the verge of crying out of frustration. All i wanted was for them to fix the issue that they caused. All they care about is making sure you pay for your service. read more

Checked out a new nail salon over the weekend and what a great place it was! Super spacious, lots of nail and pedicure stations. The salon was packed by the time we left 2 hours later. I made an appointment via Yelp and they were very quick and friendly to reply. I originally made 2 gel manicure appointments, but when we arrived, we wanted to do pedicures as well. The guy at the front counter was very accommodating and had no problem adding on the pedicures. He even asked if we had extra time in our day after we added it on which I appreciated that he asked rather than having us wait around for 30 minutes and not saying anything. They offered us a free drink - water, mimosas and even soda once we were seated. I even saw snacks available. They offer 5 or so different pedicure options and lots of different nail colors to choose from. The lady who took care of me was very through and did an amazing job! I arrived and was able to check in and they informed me that they had a point system for customers. I was seated right away in a spacious pedicure station. They have a variety of options for pedicures and different price points. The staff was very nice and asked me what I wanted and if I liked it. The mood was very quiet and calming on a Friday evening at 5:30 pm. They offer a free drink, I opted for water. They're a newer salon located off of Watt and Arden with plenty of parking all around. My husband and I had been talking about getting pedicures for a while but we haven't found a local spot love in the area. I kept seeing the opening promoted on Instagram and Empire Nail Spa was a short drive from us so we were excited to stop in and support a new local business. We came in as walk ins and decided to manicures and pedicures. The staff was so warm and welcoming and got us set up and immediately offered us drinks. We didn't wait long before we were in chairs and getting ready to be pampered. We don't so these services often and they tend to be a treat for special occasions or when we really need to relax. I say this because this also means we're not pro's when it comes to knowing exactly what to expect or to know if we should say something if it's different than other places we've been to. We opted for the Deluxe Pedicure ($54) for both of us and I upgraded to gel polish (+12) for my toes. I noticed that as we were starting the person working on my husband never attached the jets in the water, so while I had the regular bubbly experience with the scented soak, my husband had his feet in still water. We both picked colors and our nails turned out cute. The person working on my husband was having some trouble with his toes so they had the person helping me finish for them too. During this we were offered mimosas which was very nice and a fun way feel even more pampered. When we got to the manicure, my husband just chose to have his fingers cleaned up so they looked nice but he said they really didn't do much. I'm used to them working on the cuticles, cutting them, buffing them and making them look professional. He was definitely underwhelmed by this part of the experience. I got a gel manicure ($45) and they turned out really cute, but I also felt like the service had less maintenance and pampering than I'm used to when I've gotten services like this elsewhere. I also had a different person helping me for this service, while my husband had the same person working with him the whole time. Overall, it was a nice experience and a fun way to treat ourselves. If I go back, I would personally just do one service at a time instead of both. I was searching for a place to treat my wife to a nice spa day and wow Empire Nail Spa did not disappoint. This place beautiful and is very spacious. We were greeted right away by the staff and they were very friendly and attentive. They had complementary drinks and snacks for their guests. I chose a soda and my wife got a water. I opted to get a pedicure too because why not. I loved the bench seating and the built in back massager. There was a remote to control the intensity of the massager. I really wanted to like this place, but after my 3rd visit, I'm done. My first visit was okay, basic pedicure, no complaints. My second visit, both my toes and fingers got cut underneath the nail, which was painful for a few days. The nail tech was very nice, but I felt the quality of both the pedicure and manicure could improve. Final visit today I left with an AWFUL polish job on my manicure. First, the tech made 3 comments about me not choosing gel, even after I told her how it does too much damage to my nails and they are really healthy right now. Second, the quality of the polish job is terrible. She didn't shake the bottle to mix the color and the polish is not smooth. Third, the color looks completely different in the sun and you can tell the polish was uneven from not being mixed. I gave this place 2 stars because it is clean and very nice inside. I watched the girl throw everything in the work box and go right to the next client and take the same tools out and start working on them. They need to work on their professionalism, cleanliness and quality of their work. I have tried several times hoping they would get it together but they can't, so I will not come back. The woman who did my nails burned my cuticles, left me with cuts, and to top it off, filed half of my acrylic on my thumbs down, it looks completely bad. Oh, and there's tiny brush bristles under the coating that had cured. So when I run my finger over the nail, I can feel it. It's like this on three of my nails.
