On Monday I went to get my chin waxed and had the worst experience the rest of the week. I've gotten my chin waxed here once before, so I went again. During the wax I noticed it being a little warm but nothing women can't handle. The first pull was very rough and aggressive to the point where I made a noise out loud. Once done, I noticed my chin stinging, but I brushed it off. As the night went on I noticed that it might be a possibility that my skin was burnt. I put frozen aloe Vera plant on it all night, but still woke up to burn marks on my chin. I called the shop multiple times informing them of my problems and they informed me I must speak to a manager but he was never there. They did not care that they burned me, never asked for contact information so that the manager could call me, nor did they even apologize or offer any solutions. I paid my money and tipped and got nothing but a run around and no communication from the manager. If you go here just know they only care about your money, not you. I have been having a pedi for awhile here. They do a great job and have many choices and colors of polishes.

Lee did a great job on my nails! He was very attentive and listened when I asked him to fix something for me if I thought it was off or wanted it thinner etc. I did come back a bit later noticing a few minor things and Paul did a great job fixing even those in just a few moments with no problem. I would recommend both of these nail techs! Even having a few things they were willing to understand and take attention to detail as soon as I pointed it out without making it seem like a hassle. All the staff made the experience better and were super attentive and chatty and someone offered water bottles and a nail tech even grabbed my friend a pillow to make her feel more comfortable. The first thing that came out of his mouth was " I fixed your nails twice already and now you want to fix again" with a light weight attitude. Honestly, really disappointed. What I asked for was extremely simple. Remove my old acrylics and a gel manicure. my acrylics were filed, then soaked, 8x over. The woman started using a nail tip? To try and remove the remaining acrylics. The space was dirty. Just all over dirty. She had my start soaking from a bowl that was covered in foil. Now I can only assume that it was used before me for someone else. AUTOCLAVE is advertised on the door however as someone who daily uses an autoclave. I can tell you that they are not actually using it per person as the bag they brought my tools out in NOT ONLY didn't have a proper mark that it had been heat treated but SHE TOOK A CLIP OFF THE BAG. Those bags are a 1x use that should be SEALED. $40 and I walked out looking like I painted my own nails. They aren't even filed even. SMH. read more

Just left and let me tell you Lana did NOT disappoint honey! I absolutely love my nails! She took her time and made sure throughout the process that I liked my nails. I let her do her thing on how the hearts are placed but she did let me pick multiple colors without breaking my pockets! Parking is hard to find since they are in a busy strip mall. But totally worth it. I made an appointment just in case and while they weren't packed they had a steady rush. I will definitely be back, I think I'll stick with Lana though! Please be warned! I thought twice before sharing my experience at Happy Day Nails & Spa because I was concerned about how my review could potentially harm their business... but after some research I decided that my review is worth a mention and could potentially save YOU from having the same unsatisfactory experience. I think my photos are self explanatory. But these are 4 of my main complaints. What I asked for: French tips (green on one hand and black on the other) Price: $65 + tip 1.) MMA (illegal) monomer is not allowed to be used in nail shops in California. EMA (legal) monomer turns flaky when removed properly. MMA turns goey and sticky, it's messy to remove and harmful. Most shop shops use force or the corner of nail tips to yank off an old set. This can lead to infection and it's very painful and harmful to the nail bed. When I came in to Happy Day Nails, I did ask if they used MMA and they said "No only EMA". I believed them and Unfortunately I made a bad call with this nail shop and will not be returning again. 2.) My nail tech applied MMA monomer on my natural nail (assuming as a primer?) before adding the kids glue and attaching the tip. This caused some reaction because my finger tips were burning. (Similar burn to when you get gel on your skin and put it under a UV lamp). Except this reaction did not need a lamp. YES, I did speak up and complained about the pain. His response "it's the nail tips, they are different". Whatever that means... I have never seen this done at any nail shop and I've never felt that burning sensation during nail tip application. My guess is he filed my nails to much and the monomer caused the burning sensation. 3.) As you can see, my French tips were all different sizes, they were uneven and the nail shape was not even close to the ones in my inspo picture (which I did show them). I asked them if they had experience in French tips, specifically if they knew how to do an acrylic moon cut and acrylic colored tip.. I specifically said I did not want gel for the tip. I even showed him a video from tik tok (me thinking it would be easier if I just showed him rather than tried explaining.. there was already a language barrier, I simply thought a video would make more sense). He took a quick look and went back to business while reassuring me he knew what he was doing. I told him it was ok if he did not know how to do what I was asking for.. I would have simply asked for a basic single color set. 4.) I've been to this location at least 4 times (mainly for pedis) but every time I come by it is a whole experience... i understand the location is in a rough neighborhood with homeless popping in n out. That's to say, if you're coming here for a peaceful and relaxing experience... please find somewhere else to go. I have witnessed prejudice and discrimination towards black women. Refusing service or talking back to clients for no specific reason. On one occasion I was sitting next to a woman who was visibly upset at the service she was receiving (in hindsight, she did what most of us would never do and that's speak up) but her nail tech blatantly ignored her request to start over and went as far as to refuse to continue his service and kicked her out. To say the least, I left my nail appointment more anxious than when I got there. read more

I had an appointment and I was seated quickly and the man doing my nails was quiet, but friendly. Everything other than that was terrible though. My nails/cuticles were not prepped. My dip manicure was rushed and came out extremely thick. The man told me that dip powder makes your nails much bigger (thicker). I would've believed him had I not have previously gotten dip manicures for years. On top of that, I asked to keep my length and my nails were shaved down much further than I wanted, the shape was not what I wanted, and the shape was not consistent between both hands. When he told me I was done, I looked at my hands in disbelief. I know I could've asked for them to be redone, but the lack of quality in this manicure was insulting. At first, I thought this was out of the norm for this salon since they have so many good reviews, but when I looked further, I see that this problem has been going on for years. I got here at 12:05, and it is now 1:10 and I'm still waiting for a fill. I was originally told 20 minutes. There are only 3 technicians here on a Sunday. Super Bowl Sunday. If this was a good establishment, they would have more employees, don't you think. They have taken 3 pedicures before me, why? Because I'm not going to pay as much as them? They offer other services, some that I was interested in but with the crappy service, why bother to ask about them. Horrible service , I went into the nail salon to get my nails done two days ago, mind you I've been coming here a long time. The guy that did my nails sits two seats down from the owner (Megan) who currently sits at tHe first station. ( he is an older man with glasses and has a fro). No one else was available but him so I took a chance even tho I usually go to Paul. On Thursday when I called (Megan ) answered the phone , I asked to speak with the owner/manager ( she told me they were not there ) mind you SHE is the owner! I then explained to her what had happened during my service. first the guy cut my nails to short, then didn't glue my nails all the way down even when I told him, his response was don't worrry about that. I asked for coffin shape and he gave me something hideous. I am a licensed cosmetologist so I know quite a bit about nails. I kept having to correct him along the way but he insured me that he knew what he was doing. After applying the acrylic , which was lumpy, he then applied the gel polish, which he didn't let dry all the way so it came off, he then tried to clean it up with polish remover and cover it over with clear polish. At this point I was about to cry from how ugly my nails looked. I payed with no tip and walked out it was around 5:30 when I left. I instantly took pictures when I got to my car. While speaking with Megan she told me I can come in for them to fix it. I said ok but I didn't want the same guy to do it, she said that's fine. When I went back into tHe salon I had to wait 30 minutes before I waS seen and the same guy who I didn't want called me to his chair. I told him I didn't want him to fix my nAils because he did a horrible job and that I wanted them off. After he took them off I asked him if I was getting a refund or can I just make an appointment to get my nails done again with someone else. This man started yelling at me saying no , you get nothing, I just took your nails off . I told him that I'm gonna walk away because he is getting loud with me for no reason. I then walked over to the manager Megan to show heed the pictures I took and also reminded her of our conversation over the phoNe she then said well you took your nails off so I can't fix it. I then explained to hEr that was not what she had said over the phone. I again asked her to speak with the owner, she told me thEy were not there (lies) the man started shouting across the room at me (yes there were customers) and I was still calm ignoring him while I spoke to megan. She basically changed her mind on the spot and didn't want to hear me out all while she was telling the man to sit down and be quiEt. He then got in my face yelling again. I told him he was a horrible nail tech. I then asked Megan what her name was because at this point I'm taking them to court especially since I felt threatened. Megan said no , I will not give u my name. (I guess her legal Chinese name ) but I will be taking them to court... They are very disrespectful and the fact that a grown ass man can get in my face (a young woman) while there are customers is disgusting to me. read more

Oh Megan! THIS IS WORTH READING. Don't come here! I was recommended to come here by someone I know. They specifically recommended Megan. I made an appointment for a mani and pedi. I got there and the person that I came in with sat down first, though she was just getting a pedicure. 20 minutes go by and I requested that I sit down and get my pedi done since the Megan was too busy to start my mani. They said no and had me wait another 20 minutes. Finally, I got sat down to get my manicure (still haven't gotten my pedi) and 20 minutes in, Megan tells me that she would not have time for my pedi. I'm usually easygoing and would've came back the next day to get my pedicure done BUT I mentioned that I was getting married the next day. Megan couldn't even consider that I was getting married the next day and automatically said no. I told someone else my situation and she politely said she could finish my pedi. Being that I was getting married the next day... I wanted some adjustments for my manicure because I was not satisfied. Megan looked super agitated but still completed my request (which I told her I appreciated). Towards the end of my visit, as I'm telling her what to fix, she starts yelling and telling me that I'm super picky. She was going back and forth arguing. Megan was even recoding! The poor shorter lady was in shock and was apologizing for her behavior and then escorted us out. I understand people have tough days sometimes but when you're working in costumer service, especially in environments like this, I think it's super important to attend to your guests and remain professional.
