Immediately after posting the need for floor installation, I was on the phone with Eric, one of their sales reps., and we schedule a physical inspection and measurement of the property in question. The next day we met at the townhouse. Eric was concise, prepared, knowledgeable, and considerate. I presented him with the needs of the project at hand and he presented me we a set of options based on my budget. He was patient enough to let me make up my mind as I listened to other offers and compared quotes. And when I settled on Empire he immediately helped me schedule the installation. Getting the job done was flawless. Vanessa, who orchestrated the installation from Empire central, is quite good at keeping you informed, and maintaining the installed and me in constant contact as they made their way to my property for installation. They even called me when the installers picked up the materials to let me know they would soon be on the way to the property after another stop! The team in charge of the installation, led by Oscar Silvestre, was also incredibly profession, friendly, and knowledgeable. They did a job that years prior had taken installers an entire day in only half with double the quality of the previous installers. After investing over $10,000 in their flooring, which is now bubbling and defective in my bedroom, their warranty service has proven to be a spectacular failure. I was given a service window for today, from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. I cleared my entire schedule, took a day off from work, and lost a full day's revenue to be available. No one showed up. Not a single technician. Worse than the no-show was the complete and total breakdown in communication. I called Empire Flooring's customer service three separate times throughout the day, desperate for an ETA or an update. Each call was an exercise in futility. The representatives, while polite, were utterly powerless. They admitted they could not get in touch with their own service technicians or dispatch. They couldn't even reach a service manager. Not once did anyone from Empire Flooring--not a technician, not a manager, not a dispatcher--have the basic decency to call me to inform me they were running late, to provide a new ETA, or to tell me they weren't coming. I was left in limbo for ten full hours, staring at my ruined floor and waiting by the phone like a fool. This is not just poor service; it is profoundly disrespectful and unprofessional. You have wasted my entire day, cost me money from my job, and shown zero regard for my time or my significant investment in your product. The complete lack of internal coordination and customer courtesy is staggering. On the day of the carpet installation, the installer came in and moved all the furniture all over the place barricaded all my rooms even my bathrooms. He then rolled the carpet out in the parking lot and saw that he didn't have enough carpet, it was damaged and he couldn't start the job. So he told me he'd be back the next day but in the meantime I had no access to my bedrooms or bathrooms. He didn't care and neither did they! Finally the day comes he's going to install the carpet. He did not use the padding that I ordered --I needed water resistant padding and he put in something else- the cheap padding. Then he actually laid the carpet in place and never kicked it so it was tight. There was no kicking at all. He couldn't finish off the edge by my tile and left it lower than my tile. I called Empire and they had to send somebody else out to finish the edge of the carpet by the tile. I've had the carpet two years now. It is already showing wear and there's only one person living here. The seam looks defective and I called them and got numerous ticket numbers and nobody ever called me back. Finally someone called me back just recently and told me it's a little late for them to do anything. If I wanted someone to come and look at the carpet I have to pay them $75 to walk in the door. So much for carpeting that had a warranty for 15 years. That means nothing. They also put down laminate flooring in the guestroom and luxury vinyl tile planking in the bathrooms. I noticed one of the planks in the bathroom was moving. I called them about that and they said they don't guarantee the installation. They could come for $75 and replace the plank that's loose but I would have to pay for the installation. So their warranties mean nothing. Their service sucks. They keep forgetting to call you after they give you ticket numbers and it goes on and on and nothing gets done. There is one other thing they did. I paid for 5 inch wood moldings in the bathrooms and the guestroom that they did with the laminate. I was on vacation and had not used the bathroom for three weeks because I was away. I noticed a stain on the wood molding, like a water stain. That's not possible if it's wood unless the room was submerged in water and it was not. My handyman removed the piece of molding that was supposed to be 5 inch wood base molding and saw that it was corkboard backing. Who installs that crap in a bathroom? That's not what I paid for or what I ordered. That means they installed this fiberboard fake molding and that's why it had a stain. I called them and they said that's what they installed --they never install real wood base molding. I said no one told me that --I ordered wood base molding. They told me that they would replace it But I would have to buy the wood molding myself. I actually did that because I didn't want that crap in my rooms that they put there. So they sent an installer and he installed the real wood molding and removed the pressboard crap that they put in. So I would not recommend this company to anyone. I spent over $8000 and had problems with everything they installed. Who installs the carpet without kicking it to make sure it's tight? My brother-in-law had a carpeting business so I'm very familiar with how things are installed. If he was still alive he would've done the carpet for me. They think because you're a woman living alone that they can take advantage. And one of their salesman was very creepy. I didn't want him back in my house again. The other one was a gentleman. Do not use Empire carpet-- they're a rip off and they have shoddy installation and fake base molding. It's funny when I go into a doctors office and I see that molding --it has a particular look, I can tell that it's the shoddy fiberboard molding. I wonder if those people know what was installed. It was definitely not wood. Empire is a company of scammers. They also never give you a price per square yard or square foot. They just do something in their head and give you a price on a piece of paper write it out. I understand they have countless samples to show you but the representatives only bring in like four or five things to look at. I have had two experiences with Empire Flooring. One was excellent and the other was not good. So I averaged them and came up with three stars. My first dealings with Empire was several years ago. I had two rooms of tile done and the work was done very professionally. I love the tile and it still looks great. The pricing was pretty fair at the time. There were no complaints. Now I am looking to get flooring done for the majority of my house. A very nice gentleman came to my home and showed me some different styles and colors of flooring. I like how Empire comes to your house but the downside is the choices are somewhat limited. I really did not see anything that I wanted but could have been interested in one style. So I asked how much it would be. The price quoted was obscenely high. He called his manager but they would not lower the price. So, that was it. I'm not sure who they think they are fooling. July 2023. We hired them because we thought they were a reputable company and stood behind their work. WRONG! What a mistake I made in choosing them out of three other businesses. The 12k I paid is quickly climbing to more because of the expense of the a/c technicians I've had to use so far. The original floor was tile. They used a jack hammer to chip up the tile and grout. The dust powder from the demolition settled on the blinds, fans, ledges and walls of my home. It was everywhere. It looked like a fog of dust. It also got sucked up into my brand new a/c unit because they never turned it off or did not cover the vents! This caused the a/c unit to stop working twice so far! I'm STILL trying to have them refund me for the technicians I've had to hire to work on the a/c unit. At first they were very pleasant when I brought this to their attention. Empire reps are currently giving me a hard time about refunding me for their error and are trying to get me to sign off on their liability of this whole mess. Had them install ceramic tile in my home, $18K. The installers were careless and at times confrontational, they had little interest in providing a quality product. Per sales rep, the installation would take less than a week; the project took well over three weeks, much of that time my bathrooms had no toilets. Had to hire a plumber to repair damages the installers caused in two bathrooms. Empire Today has offered to pay 50% of the $720 plumber's repair bill. This is after one of their managers agreed to cover all of the plumbing cost, as documented in an email I received from the manager. It would seem that Empire Today has no issue with reneging on an agreement. The most recent issue is the installation of a transition strip between the newly installed tile floor and one bedroom that still has carpet. Because the sales rep failed to state in the sales contract that they were to provide a ($10) transition strip they used chalking to fill the 1/4 inch gap between the carpet and new tile floor. Ponder that for a moment, to save $10 on this $18K flooring job they used chalking on my carpet. This issue still remains unresolved. read more

From sales to installation to warranty work needed, this company acts like a very dishonest business. We did not get the moisture under barrier and quiet barrier written on the card the sales person gave us. The sales person has quit. They do not and will not document their contracts with correct and detailed information. The product they use is sub-par and after speaking with the manufacturers of the product, they do not agree with how it is represented by Empire. The Empire Customer service, when you can actually get through, does not even know what product they sold you. Their CS gives you fake extensions and the main number says leave a message or hang up. You do not know who, what are where your message has gone to and it does not go through to anyone. You do not get a call back ever. The only phone calls you get that actually show the empire name are from sales people trying to sell you more. They do not know or care that your still fighting with their warranty dept. to get the sloppy installation fixed. I have a list of 15 names and 15 bogus extensions that again show how this company, empire, has dishonest workings. I called empire flooring when Pulte Homes installed a cheap carpet that was buckling badly upstairs creating tripping hazards. I got a quote that included the removal of the carpet, pads, those horrible staples, etc and installation of brand new laminate flooring. I was amazed. They did the entire upstairs and the stairs in two and a half days. The installers worked tirelessly and the end result was AMAZING! But don't take my word for it!!! See the wonderful photos!!! They sales rep was cordial and efficient and the installers came a couple days later and did the install. STAY AWAY!!! BAIT AND SWITCH! Adam (sales rep) quoted us for luxery vinyl plank in early August. We were on the fence, but he PROMISED 1-day installation. That sold us because we needed installation ASAP (moving in early Sept. and filming HGTV renovation show at the end of the Aug.) Installation was planned for 8/11 it led into 8/12, then 8/13. On 8/13 they "ran out of materials" and needed to come back in 10 days to finish. Customer service called me to confirm installation in 10 days. Then 10 days later I hear nothing from Empire. I call, and they say it has been pushed back to 8/27. We tell Empire, and our Sales Rep - it HAS to be done by the 27th because we are fliming a HGTV show on the 28th. Our sales rep and customer service rep PROMISES that it will be done by the 27th. 27th comes and goes, and no one from Empire calls me to say installation wont be happening. I took off work and waited for the installers to call. By midday, I called Empire and thats when they told me no one was showing up. On 8/27 they say it will be done by 9/3. It is now 9/3 and crickets from Empire. I again took off work. I called Empire and they said it is now delayed to 9/10. Again, Empire didn't call me - I called them. It is rather crazy they keep giving installation dates at a 1 week cadence, I assume 9/10 won't happen and it will be pushed back to 9/17, then 9/24. I don't buy Covid as an excuse. Covid is not an "act of god" that would cause surprise delays - the product was sold to us mid-pandemic. When we purchased, many floor types were not available because of covid shortages. So, why did the sales rep sell us a product that was low on supply and GUARANTEE a 1-day installation? We went with Empire b/c of Adam's guarantee that installation would be done before HGTV and move in. The HGTV show was a disaster. Adam also told us installers would clean up their huge mess, so house would be move in ready. We are moving in next week and b/c of delay, and now we have to clean up installers mess read more

I schedule an appointment for Empire to come out and measure my home and quote me a price. The salesman came and I explained to him that I was shopping for carpet. I told him I had other companies coming so I can compare prices. I have been miserable since Empire installed laminate in my kitchen and hallway. First off, they installed three weeks after the promised install date, leaving me to live with my belongings all over the house, as I had to remove them from the installation areas. One week after installation, the laminate showed peaked at the corners in several areas and signs of lifting. I had the salesman in my home at the time and showed him. He acknowledged the damage and said I should call them to have them fix it. I did and they send someone to look at it, who immediately starting to accuse me of causing the damage because I cleaned the floor using the product the salesman told me to use! In fact, the floor to that point had only been damp mop cleaned and dried ONE TIME before this man came to see the problem. I even called the maker of the product the salesman told me to use and was told it was fine to use on laminate floors. The individual they sent to review the damage was quite nasty and left my home with no resolution and no repair made. I read on several reviews how Empire makes it a habit to tell people there is moisture damage and this is just ridiculous. I had previously had Home Depot installed laminate in the house for 9 years, and there was no lifting whatsoever. I agree with all the reviewers who say it should not be sold in Florida if there are moisture issues. I then contacted them again and they sent me a letter saying they would give me $300 if I signed that I would not give any bad reviews! It will cost me three times that much or more to put in a new floor. I tried to call them again, and the number I had and the name of the Employee was no longer available. I got a call from someone in Miami who said she was a Manager, but the phone did not ring, so she just left a message, which I tried to return many times, to no avail. I wrote to them telling them that not only was the job shoddy, but that the installer stole a pair of new sneakers I had purchase to send to my son. I was in shock when I first noticed this. I called them immediately when it happened and reported it, but nothing was done. This is the scariest part for me, to know that you have someone in your home who might steal your property while doing a job. So here I am several months after the installation of this laminate, and still not satisfied. At this point I would take a small compensation for my trouble, but they won't even respond to phone calls. All I can say is that I was a customer of theirs from 30 years ago for carpeting when I lived up north. They were much better then, but seem to have deteriorated considerably. I could never recommend them. I visited a few other flooring companies in my area, and see that I could have matched the price and had better service from people who are more concerned with customer satisfaction. In fact, I will probably have one of them repair the lifting laminate which Empire Today installed. I feel I have been taken advantage of because I am a senior female, and I will also be bringing this to the attention of the State's attorney general and the Better Business Bureau. We hired them to carpet three rooms and a staircase. They weren't the lowest bid, but we went with them because they promised they could do the job within two weeks. Turns out, it took over a month. We'd call them, they said it'd take a while to bind the carpet for our stairs. Of course that didn't come up during the bid process. They also broke a $200 light the second floor at the top of the staircase and didn't tell us. Just broke the glass covering by somehow putting a three inch hole in it, so on quick perusal we missed it. Stay away. read more

I had no problem with Allan, the sales person. But I purchased the carpet on August 6. Installation set for 9/7. They cancelled. Rescheduled for 9/10, they cancelled 9/9 and rescheduled for 9/14. Told them I needed morning installation ( only on room, about 150 Sq. Ft. 930 today they sent a text saying a customer ahead of me. Called installation at 10, on hold for 30 minutes wanted to know when they would be by, installers did not respond to service rep. Said they would contact me later today. Around 130 pm tried chat function, he tried calling installers, no luck, they disconnected chat when I wanted to knownif people who bought later were forcing my cancelations. Called empire service dest, spoke to supervisor Jessica. Tried getting a hold of installer. No luck .sit they have until 6. Said I will be at work at 6. Still have heard nothing. It is now after 3. Do NOT USE Empire Today. Service has gone way down and obvious disconnect between installers and sales. Ironically you only have a few days to get your money back but if you can't get it installed...
