This is tough to review because I had one expectation that was not met, empire sold me by claiming their installers are Empire employee's trained and supervised by Empire to install a quality product which did happen at a higher cost than I had to pay if only the sales person was honest with that one point, our employees our product. Now, with that all said TOPFLOORINGCONTRACTOR did a great job installing my floor Iam very happy with their work. One more thing, I made 5 phone calls today to contact a responsible person and never got any return calls even though I was told by Empire that someone would be their if needed. I had new carpet installed going on two years ago now. I contacted Empire at least 6 months ago, and ask them why the carpet would be "matting' so much. We are only two people in the house, and I am a very good housekeeper. I vacuum at least 1 or 2 times a week. No kids in the home. We do not eat upstairs, where the carpet is. They took months to do their review of the carpet. I would have to keep calling them for an update. Finally AFTER ALMOST 6 MONTHS, they said they are not at fault. This carpet cost me over $10,000 and lasted less than two years??? Horrible. Again, if I didn't take great care of my carpet, this would be different, but I did. I would never trust this company. Well I should have read these reviews and wouldn't have wasted my time with this pathetic company. I filled out the online form and within 15 mins someone called. He was completely clueless. i told him to call me back when he was organized, he never did. I refilled out the form and it took me to another section to schedule and appointment. I scheduled the appointment for 11-1pm. the salesman Kareem called me and requested we need earlier 10:30-10:45am. I agreed and told him I would text when I got there. I had to tell him the gate code three times. Not a good start but all was OK. I left work early, I areoved to the house at 10:32am and texted him. No reply. I called him, no answer! I went in, opened the door and waited for more than 20 mins. He told me he was on his way and would be another 10-15mins and that he was in another appointment. This is the very person that wanted to move up the appointment. I called the 407 number that I thought was local. It was not local it was the call center. I asked for the Sales Manage. The agent was extremely rude in a very passive aggressive way. She constantly put me on hold, this went on for 13 minutes. While on hold with customer service, Itexted the salesman and asked for his sales and phone number. As I hung up from customer service, disgusted, the salesman manager called me. He blatantly accused me of being the issue, telling me that it was a miscommunication and that things happen. But he wanted to earn my business and what could he do and I told him absolutely nothing and that the salesman needed to be reprimanded. You don't treat customers like this. I'm sure many people have used Empire Today for floors. In a word: DON'T. Just for background, we are having the LVP floors Empire installed in November 2024 completely ripped out and redone correctly today. The new company, National Floors Direct, is putting down a layer of some sort of cement/leveling material to even out the tile so we won't have the uneven and bouncy floors that we have complained about to Empire 3 times now. To have Empire reply to us with "it was installed within specifications" is unfathomnable, especially seeing how this new floor from another company is laying perfectly. They even sent out a "manager" who hinted that we were somehow at fault for using water to mop it. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement, and coupled with the fact that the company basically brushed off an unhappy/unsatisfied customer is extraordinary (not in a good way). And to think I wasted over $8000 on these floors..... well chalk it up to lesson learned because I doubt this company really cares that much about an amount so minuscule. I will be posting my reviews, of course, in hopes I can save someone else the time and money on shoddy products and installation. I'll post the new floors once they are completely in, but the small part that they've completed is already 100% better and higher quality product. We contracted to have LVP installed in place of the existing 1980s ugly wall to wall carpeting. The three installers called with their arrival time. They started work at 830a and were finished and were moving the furniture back in place 230p ! The crew consisted of Rafael (the boss), Juan and Caesar. They were all friendly, polite, efficient and extremely knowledgeable in their job. Our condo looks 10,000 times better ! Though, when the sales rep was here, I looked at 83 very negative reviews. It made me hesitate to go forward with Empire. Such a hesitation that the rep allowed me to speak with the GM of the Orlando office that we would contract through. I received a letter telling me I was late to pay my HOA for September, its on auto pay and nothing on my account changed but she was not able to tell me why they could not take the payment this month. Told me to call my bank, which I did and the bank told me its the HOA responsibility to let me know the reason why they were not able to take payment. My account is fine. Beware of Empire Flooring Orlando: A Frustrating Saga of Poor Customer Service and Incompetence Let me begin by sharing that the sales rep (Stacey) was at my house within hours of my first call. She was friendly, but as I was later told by Empire's own agent, she blatantly lied to me about the products she sold me. The install turnaround was incredible - they wanted to install the next morning. I was impressed at this point. The subcontractor showed up and they were professional and worked quickly to complete my project. The installer said to get a plastic pad for my desk chair. I was bummed because I specifically asked for a floor that would hold up to a chair. I purchased a clear plastic mat, despite my disappointment. I will also add that, oddly, there was not a single board leftover after install. I didn't think at the time that this was strange but after reading multiple comments on the Better Business Bureau's website and Google reviews, it is common for these installers to hold back the materials YOU PAID FOR. I was extremely thorough with my sales rep and explained I would have an office in one of the rooms. I wanted a floor that withstand a rolling desk chair. I had a poor experience with a floor years ago that snapped underneath a dining room table and did not want to relive this experience. The difference was, I had friends install that floor and this time I went with a "professional" because I wanted to ensure this was done correctly. The floor looked great when they were done! However, within a few months, the floorboard in the office began to warp and sink in the middle of the planks underneath the chair. Keep in mind, I had asked for a floor that would hold up to this type of use. No problem, I thought, Empire has outstanding customer service and a top-notch warranty that they make sure you are very aware of with their commercials. And if you don't get that rammed down your throat on a Sunday afternoon watching TV, the sales rep makes sure you know how great their customer service and warranty is on their products. I contacted customer service because this would be fixed, no problem. On 11/15/24 I called with a warranty issue and was told I would receive a call within 3 business days. On 11/25/24 I called again because I had not heard anything. I was told I would be moved to a priority, and they personally called the person that was supposed to handle the situation (they did not answer the customer service rep's call either). I did receive a text the next day (11/26/24) from the phone number that I later determined with a Google search to be their rep, Wasseem, stating they were from Empire and needed photos of the problem. They scheduled to come on 12/6/24 with no exact times. On 12/4/24 I received an email from Empire inquiring about the issue and asking for photos. I responded within 15 minutes and did not hear anything back. I texted the number that reached out to me via text message on 12/5/24 to confirm the appointment and time frame. I heard nothing. I texted again on the morning of the scheduled appointment (12/6/24) and received no response. I called the number on the email and tried the exact extension (866-588-2329 ext. 4560). I am given the option to leave a message. When I tried to leave a message, nothing happens. When I called the number and press 2 for customer service, same issue as when I use the extension, no voicemail allowed. I called the main Empire number and selected customer service. I waited for 62-minutes and nobody answered. I began calling customer service, daily. They were unable to reach the Orlando office. I was told Waseem and Crystal were the ones I needed to speak to. I left multiple voicemails for Crystal, who apparently is the manager. I received NO CALLS BACK. After I continued to pester the customer service line daily, someone finally put me in touch with the local general manager. He walked down the hall to talk to Crystal/Wasseem who stated that they had called me and sent me emails which is a complete fabrication of the truth. I have NO MISSED CALLS, NO MESSAGES, NO EMAILS, NOTHING. He sent someone out to assess the floor the next day (12/19/24). The GM (Keith, I think it was) assured me they would work it out and they would come in the afternoon because I needed to be in the office at my job in the morning. Sure enough, the installer calls at 9:00am and says they are on their way over. Thankfully, they understood the confusion and came later in the afternoon. The person who came to assess the floor was the installer. He said, "Empire will call you next week to schedule a repair." Nobody has contacted me. Finally, I reached out on 1/6/25. After completing additional paperwork with the Better Business Bureau and continuing to pester the customer service number DAILY, I received a call on 1/14/25. Do NOT use EMPIRE for Flooring !!!!!! They are Horrible !!! My mother paid almost $4000 and had a warranty. The floor was supposed to be waterproof. She has bubbles. We called them back numerous times. Now approximately a year or so claim warranty could not get through to them, then when we did, we left a message they said somebody would call us back. Acoording to Empire, they can't inform a time frame for the service, only that will be between 8:00 and 18:00, but on the day of the service, I could call and they would give a better time frame. I've called 3 times, 8:30, 13:30 and 16:30. All I heard is that they couldn't get in contact with the crew, and would have someone from instalation to call me. Now 18:03 and nobody called, even with the scalation and worst nobody showed up. A complete disregard for the customer. When a custumer calls for a new installation, they will immediatly have time and people to go to your house, but if you need a repair they you leave without help. Avoid to buy from them. I just had a brand new vanity installed and the cut the entire baseboard of it with a utility knife. I mentioned to the installer that the vanity was brand new and to be careful. The pushed the carpe up. next to it and just ran the utility knife across it with the baseboard as the cutting board. They offered to have the same person come out and repair it. When the salesman came to spec out the job we showed him that we were concerned because we wanted tile but we didn't know if our doors would open in to our porch anymore (two of them) we showed him how our doors already scraped on the carpet that was only glued down to the cement floor. he assured us there would be no problem. Called company for service on my crown molding. I did not notice this back when it was initially installed. so I was outside of my warranty and they charged me $225 for inspection and materials. Every thing went well with the inspection up until the point when the inspector was leaving and ran over my mailbox. When the installer came he did not have the materials needed to complete the job so he had to improvise. I called and issued a complaint about it and they were willing to remedy the situation but not until I pay them more money for the job needed. Don't trust them. They scam people. read more

Empire today of Jacksonville installed laminate flooring in my home and immediately all the thresholds came up and the floor started buckling up and created large air pockets. I called them within a few weeks of installation and they suggested that it was humidity and I needed to pay to fix. Its unbelievable that despite my home being a constant 72 degrees and the inspector not finding any humidity, they are trying to avoid liablity. I've already fallen once from the uplifted boards and its only been 2 months since installation. It is a hazardous situation and they refuse to fix it. Instead, they are asking me to pay the to repair what they did wrong int he installation process. I will be filing a legal claim and already submitted my complaint with the BBB. I had vinyl flooring installed in my kitchen and living room areas this past February 2024. I was not present for the installation but my mother was able to be there. My mom communicated with me that during the installation, an installer by the name of Carlos helped himself to my fridge and also allowed his partners access to my beverages. My mom offered them water but they decided to help themselves because apparently water was not good enough for them. Upon completion of installation, I noticed that a few panels in my kitchen had scratch marks on them. I contacted customer service right away, and they ended up sending the same person back who installed the floors, Carlos. He informed me that the scratch marks were too "small" for them to be replaced. I do not care how small the scratches are, the flooring was defective. Their warranty states that "Every EMPIRE® hand tool is warranted by the manufacturer to the original purchaser for the reasonable lifetime of the tool solely to be free from defects in material and workmanship." They need to uphold their warranty they claim to have. I reached out again a couple weeks ago to reopen my service ticket. I called customer service only to get disconnected or reach a voicemail box that was full. No one returned my phone calls or attempted to reach out to me. After approximately 2 weeks of attempting calls, I finally reached a person. The representative I spoke with informed me that the flooring can be fixed at MY cost. Empire Today wants me to pay for their defective flooring. They are also trying to blame me for the marks on the paneling that clearly can be seen as a manufacturing defect. I have a fraudulent claim at this point. A manager, if you will, by the name of Cristal D. Santana was very impractical, and highly unconcerned regarding my situation. I have also called every available number you can find to try and get through all their gatekeepers they have to avoid being held accountable for their horrible service. I mean, look at their rating. In brief, my sales guy offered me a warranty on the carpet that I would never usually buy. But because he said it would include pet damage, I went ahead and purchased it. A year and a half later, my cat messed up the carpet. I made a claim, and it was denied because, well, it isn't covered. I was specifically told by him it was. Anyway, I canceled the warranty and got a partial refund--about 25% of what I paid for the warranty. After that, I called to have the carpet repaired; they don't do that; all they do is full installs. So, then I asked to buy some matching carpet to repair outside of them, they don't sell the carpet. So, basically, they will sell you a warranty so that you think you are covered and are not, and then when you try to repair it, you realize you are stuck. They basically force you into replacing your entire carpet only through them or have to go through someone else and replace that carpet as well as all the carpet it is attached to. We had two rooms of carpet and a small hallway with laminate installed. The salesman was great and scheduled the installation for the following week. The laminate was installed first and they only installed three of the four thresholds, saying that the carpet installer would do the last one. The next day the carpet installer came and installed two rooms in carpet. He then said thats all he does, he doesn't install thresholds. He said he would call his manager and they would send the laminate people to install the threshold. We never heard from anyone at Empire. After several phone calls and an email, a man called to schedule the installation of the last threshold. The same people who installed the laminate came and installed the last threshold. It did not cover the end of the carpet, there is a gap between the threshold and the carpet. They tried to glue the threshold down so it almost covered the gap, but then said the carpet was too short. They blame the carpet installer the carpet installer blamed them but we now have carpet thats going to come up and frey because it was not properly installed. All of this could have been avoided had the installation of both been done at the same time. We called Empire, and of course left a message. It has yet to be seen if they will ever call us back? I would not recommend this company. They obviously don't hire quality contractors to do the installations and have the worst customer service I have ever seen. read more

Empire Today - The gap between the carpet and threshold. - Carpet Installation Near Me

Last September, I had all of the carpeting in my house replaced with waterproof (not water resistant) vinyl plank flooring by Empire Today at a cost of $12,000. A couple months later, certain areas began to develop a brown grime between the joints (see attached photos). I'd scrub it off with a dry towel, only to have it reappear a day later.       I contacted Empire Today regarding this issue and they sent out two people to look at the floor and take pictures. They determined that water had seeped into the joints and was trapped below the flooring, resulting in the brown grime surfacing between the joints. They told me that I mopped excessively and the trapped water was not covered under the warranty. When I told them that no one mentioned that issue to me when I ordered it, they told me that I should've read the warranty, which they admitted that they didn't provide me until AFTER the installation was completed. They also told me that "waterproof" referred only to the surface of the flooring, another fact they failed to mention to me before purchase. They said the only way I could remedy the situation was to hire them to take up the flooring, dry out the surface beneath it, and have them reinstall a new floor, all at an additional cost to me.     I have a Yeedi Cube vacuum/mop combo that was going through the house daily, sweeping up and damp-mopping. Since I have 3 large dogs, the light mopping requires an occasional mopping with my Bissell Crosswave power mop to remove heavier grime that the Yeedi Cube robot can't remove. Neither the Yeedi Cube mop nor the Bissell Crosswave mop soak the floor, they only damp mop the surface.     According to the care instructions that Empire Today sent me (see attached photo), The 2nd instruction under "General Vinyl Flooring Cleaning" says, "Clean with a damp mop for everyday care," which I was doing with the Yeedi Cube Vacuum/mop. I followed Empire Today's own care instructions, yet they say that this issue isn't covered by their warranty. In other words, my WATERPROOF vinyl flooring is only waterproof if I don't get it wet! I spoke with another installer who installs this same flooring, and they said the only way this could happen in some areas and not others, is if the flooring planks weren't properly locked in place in those areas, which seems logical to me.     I would've never spent that kind of money for "waterproof" flooring that can't be mopped regularly! Now, I'm stuck with a floor that I have to scrub daily with a dry towel to remove unsightly grime between the joints. Do not waste your time and money on this company! I purchased vinyl flooring and installation services from Empire Today to be installed in my office and on the stairs. The Sales representative showed me a sample of the flooring to be installed but not the stair nose. He did ensure me they would be an exact match. It turns out the stair nose is a much darker grey than the vinyl flooring used on the steps and in the office. Not only is it darker in color, it is also thicker, making each step uneven. When I contacted Empire Today, they sent a representative who agreed it was not right but said it was up to the company. When I called Empire, they stated that is the way the product is made and it's an issue with the product manufacturer and not them. I went online and scheduled a consultation for Sunday March 3, after church, between 3-5 pm. Stacy Jackson was the salesperson that came out. Stacy Jackson need a to be retrained. Her disrespectful behavior towards me caused Empire to lose out on a 5 day installation. She wasted 2.5 hours of my time on Sunday, March 3, 2024. I signed the contract, and scheduled installation for Monday March 11-15. On Friday March 8, I called Stacy on her CEL to inqurie why I had not heard from Empire re installation that was to begin in 3 days. I asked her what time the installation team would arrive Monday March 11? How many installers would be on the job? She called me back asking me "did you get my email yesterday?" I said "no". She emailed me Thursday, March 7th at 12:30 pm to inform me that the installation date was changed to March 18. I told her know that she does not the authority to change my installation date without my approval. Even my contract was modified without my knowledge. This is disrespectful of Stacy. Changing my contract without my approval was illegal. She should have CALL or TEXT me on Thursday March 7th to ASK if the installation date can me changed. I had canceled patients March 11, 13, 15 to be home. My son was going to take off from work March 12 & 14. Stacy Jackson true test was when things went wrong. She certainly failed the test for sure. She could have easily called me or texted me to apologize for the delay in installation, then ask me if it is ok for the date to be pushed back to March 18, 2024. I would have shared all my sacrifice done to have an adult home for 5 business days and that the installation dates cannot be changed. Stacy clearly does not care out the company she works for. If she cared, she could have come out to my home March 8rh to show me samples of flooring in stock so that the installation could have gone as scheduled. read more

I had them come out and give me a quote and then install carpet in my guest room in Feb 2023. it was a good overall experience. Fast forward to June 2023, and I invite them to give me a quote and they give me a date of Thursday. I take off work, they never showed! So I call and they say they didn't have a rep to assign it to. I get them being understaffed, but at least tell me!! I burned a PTO day for nothing. I complain and they agree to come on Saturday. I wait most of the day and they never showed, again - no rep. Third time was a charm and it was a pleasant experience. They were to install on a Saturday and the guy took all day and when he did arrive he essentially said "fudge it" and left. I had already cleared my room of all furniture. So then they rescheduled me for 2 weeks later!!! They replaced my carpet today (I took another day off and they didn't arrive until 6:30pm!!!). The quality of the work is impeccable, I admit. But the credit goes to JRJ Carpeting. Empire was a pain in the butt. I wish I owned it as they seem to be drowning in work read more

Zero stars if I could. Avoid Empire Company. Please. Poor customer service, Poor communication, No integrity with the product they sell. Once they sell you its good bye. My 15000 Vinyl flooring buckled after 7 months. After several run arounds call, emails, Empire left me with absolutely No SOLUTION. read more

Sales was very high pressure; signed contract on Friday because we knew we had a 3 day right of recision. Just wanted to get the salesman out of the house. Canceled on Saturday; Empire pulled a hard credit check and submitted application to Wells Fargo before 3 day period tolled - even though we were not planning to finance. Wells Fargo sent credit card in the mail, which then had to be cancelled. read more

They left before completing the job and now no reply from the installer. I have spoken with a rude customer service representative. I now have to take a third day off of work so they can fix their shotty work. Three days off now costs more than carpeting two rooms. I'm paying double for this quality of service? read more
