First of all, his office hours are amazing. Most employment lawyers office close at 5pm. Trying to discuss employment issues during work time is nearly impossible. I called like 3 other different places 15 minutes before 5pm and went straight to voicemail. I called Employment First Labor Law and got a person live and was directed over to Jonathan right away. I explained my situation and he was able to give me a free consultation on the spot. Not only that but I let him know that I was under tight time constraints and he was able accommodate my request. I found Mr. LaCour on Yelp based on the other positive reviews. I was not sure whether I would feel comfortable having a male attorney for my sexual harassment case but I felt comfortable talking to Jon from the moment that he answered the phone (yes he answered the phone!!! No assistant telling me that the attorney will call me in a few days). I moved to LA for a job offer that I received. Little did I know I was tricked to move from San Francisco to Los Angeles because the owner of lets call it Perv., Inc. wanted to sleep with me. I was alone with no one to turn to and I had no idea whether what my boss was doing was legal. When I called a few other attorneys they told me they will not take my case unless I quit or got fired. But I was scared to quit because I could not pay my rent without the salary that Perv. Inc. was paying me. And, why would the company fire me when the owner thought I was his sexiest employee (yes my boss said that said that). Anyways, I digress. So unlike the other attorneys I spoke with, Mr. LaCour did not encourage me to quit or get fired. He took my case on while I was still employed and was able to negotiate a hefty severance for me. Lets just say it was enough for me to break my lease and move back to San Francisco where I put a down payment on a house.
