Very impressed with this facility! I originally visited a couple months ago for a mani/pedi. They offered snacks and beverages and my nails looked great for several weeks. I recently went in to get a set of acrylics and Johnny did such a fantastic job. He was thorough in making sure they were filed evenly (I had them filed to a point). Sadly they ended up being a bit too long for my liking. I went in the next day and a lady filed them down for me. Very impressed with the level of service here. read more

I got an upgraded pedicure and was really disappointed with the finish. My nails didn't get shaped and polish was sloppy. Another technician removed the color and "fixed" the work.. step by step she asked for my approval, which I continued to point out what was being missed-- still disappointed-- my nails just look okay. YAY! I found Vicki again! She left Aloha Nails in January and I was so disappointed as she is the best nail tech I've ever had! Today I went to her at her new location, Empress Nails. Not only is the salon clean, lovely, and huge but the atmosphere is uplifting. Vicki once again did an exceptional job on my SNS Nails. It feels so good to know I'm going to be able to continue using her skills in my future. Jimmy, was fun too! He is the tech that has the station next to Vicki. I 've been here three times, the last time bringing my daughter and her boyfriend for mani/pedi. He just needed his nails buffed and cleaned up. When he was done, his nails were all scraped and scratched as a result of using the dremel. They looked terrible! We asked and she answered "It's fine !" OK, was not fine. My daughter's nail also looked bad. She now calls this place "Scratchy Nails!" I will never go back. read more

My friend goes here all the time and asked if I wanted to join. I seriously couldn't remember the last time I had my nails done professionally. I did the new powder dip nails and love them! Came back a second time to get them redone. I was able to get Leslie again and I have to say she is amazing! So friendly and does such a beautiful job on my nails. Excellent, caring, friendly experience. Leslie did my nails and she was amazing! I'm so glad I found this place! I love the new dip procedure and have tried several other places and have been disappointed. Some of the other places have left me with nails that don't hold up for more than a week or I walk out feeling tortured from the drill they use to remove the old nails. Leslie took her time taking off the old nails (BTW, I will never go back to the place I had them put on! ) I went the week of Christmas and Empress had a full buffet of food for the customers. Started going to Vo-Vo after my wife said I had because my feet were bad. I was hesitant at first but Vo-Vo was amazing. This is now my once a month way to relax. Both hands and feet feel a hundred times better when I leave. read more

I have been going to the same nail salon for years, due to unforeseen circumstances and my preference for pink and white solar, I had to find someone who could do exactly what I wanted. Empress nails came highly recommend, I was fortunate enough to meet Vo and experience what she is capable of doing and she far exceeded my expectations. Ok this is my third time coming here and I feel like there always understaffed. And was my last time coming. The nail tech talked me into getting dip which I guess is ok. Things went down hill when we got to figuring out the length of my nails. I told her I wanted coffin and she asked how long and i said not too long and she cut the pinky nail long and I said still too long so she barley cut any off and i again said hmmm still too long. She then said "remember coffin nail" so she got another pair of scissors and cut the coffin shape I again just started at it and she was like "look I'll file them so it'll be shorter by the time we finish". Completely unsure but knew she wasn't going to cut them I said ok I guess. But then she made the rest on my nails EXTREME long and when I got home it looked about 1/4" longer than the pinky. I absolutely hated them and I asked for a glitter accent nail on my ring finger and she made it extremely chunky. The nail tech kept sneezing and coughing. She was getting irritated at doing them and then just randomly got Up and didn't come back for 5 min. One of the other techs the young one who always wears wedges and has eyelash extensions actually laughed at my nails. I was so ready to leave and take them off they looked terrible. Almost done, another customer sat down next to me and said they looked nice but she would only ever do it if it was Halloween. They were not shiny and overall looked bad. I won't come here again. I payed and the nail tech was like I don't know how you can do it there so long. Ans I said well you talked me in to the length and I'm probably going to not be able to function. I went home and tried to file them shorter but just ended up taking them off. Such a waste of money. read more

My nails were done by a lady that starts with a C i don't remember her full name but my nails look awful. She dug her nails into my fingers while doing them, and the shape looks the worst. every nail is uneven, the polish is terrible it's not cleaned up and looks very bubbly. All i asked for was white short oval nails and she failed horribly with doing something so simple. Do not recommend. No idea how they almost have 5 stars. She was also gossiping and very distracted and rude the whole time i was there. read more

After my first visit here, I gave this place a five star review because my nail tech did such a wonderful job on my nails, however she didn't say a word to me during the entire appointment. A month later, I decided to go back, thinking it was just an off day for them but again I was really disappointed. I got a shellac mani & pedi this time, which was scheduled for 9:30am with Vikki (whom I scheduled with three weeks prior), but she wasn't there that day so they gave me someone that was nowhere near the same skill level. He did an okay job so that didn't upset me but again I wasn't greeted or talked to throughout my entire two hour appointment. I didn't feel welcome what so ever & they all just talk amongst each other in another language while you sit there awkwardly for the duration of your appointment. It was easily the most uncomfortable experience that I've ever encountered at a nail salon, which is supposed to be considered nice & relaxing. Not a fan, wont be going back. read more

For the record, I have never ever left a yelp review for anything because I've worked in customer service before and I know first hand how hard it can be to serve some people. But unfortunately, I was so dissatisfied with my service I felt I needed to share for others. I got a pedicure and shellac manicure and I was eager to finally have my bitten, nubby nails look long and beautiful. I spent over 2 and 1/2 hours here. My pedicure went fine, with the exception of being nicked with a pair of tweezers. However, my shellac manicure was a nightmare. The nail technician made me bleed twice, left an unreasonable amount of polish on my fingers and cuticles, my edges were incomplete, the shellac itself looks so thick it's comparable to glue and before the last 30 minutes, he had to completely remove 2 nails of polish because it was really uneven and lumpy. Although I appreciate them redoing those 2 nails, the nail technician was very visibly frustrated with how long I had been there and rushed through the 2 redone nails without putting a top coat and my "arm massage" left me with lotion visibly all over my arms. I really hope this was just a bad day for the nail technician but unfortunately I don't think I'll ever go back. Not sure how they have a 4 star rating. read more

If you want good looking nails that last longer than a week I suggest not going here. I got my nails done, I usually bring my own nail polish but the woman (I'm assuming the owner) pretty much forced me to get shellac. She told me they're guaranteed for two weeks. I picked my colors and the woman picked different colors to put underneath the sparkle colors I chose, so they looked completely different than the samples. My nails are sooooo thick because she put on 6 layers of shellac. The quality of the shellac is very poor. The corners and edges wore very fast, faster than polish. I got my nails done on a Monday and by Thursday the edges were completely worn, I went to see if they would fix them and they refused. They said that's what happens. I said I was told they would last for 2 weeks and they said there's a gap between cuticle and nail so no we can't. I said then I want them completely redone or my $35 back and they refused to that too. So again I do not recommend going to this place if you want your nails to look good and last longer than a week. read more

I recently switched to Empress Nails from a different salon in Lafayette, since my nail tech Vicki moved to Empress. She does amazing work (I use SNS, or the "dip" powder). I have gotten so many compliments over the couple of years that I've gone to Vicki that it's worth it for me to drive a little further. Once you get someone you can trust to do an awesome job each time, you don't want to risk trying someone new. And the prices were exactly the same as what I was paying in Lafayette. My nails NEVER chip or break with the SNS. I also liked the décor of Empress Nails and the owner seemed like a very nice woman. I'm glad to be a new customer at this business and look forward to returning there many times over. read more

Been getting my nails done for 7 years, regular acrylics and this was by far the WORST experience ever. Got a fill 4 days ago and both thumb nails broke off from doing nothing. Never had that happen. When I went in to ask to replace they were annoyed with me. And then I asked to also change the paint because it looked so bad and they said it would be $10! And so I said never mind and when I was done I asked and she flicked her hand at me to leave. So unbelievably rude. And I know she's one of the main girls that runs this place.
