AWFUL COMPANY AS A WHOLE. My experience was extremely stressful and unprofessional. I received a call 20 minutes before technician was to arrive. I called in to make my payment for the service call fee. After 4 hours, I called in and was told that someone came by and I was not home. Per my Ring Doorbell, the guy walked up to my door. Took pictures of my dogs, then left without even ringing the doorbell! I called the company and was told that the representative could not get in touch with accounting or a manager after 25 minutes. He told me that he would have to send them a message and end the call. I insisted I would hold as I needed to receive answers after I had taken off work and paid money for a service that I did not receive. EMS installed a complete A/C system in my home back in 2017. There were a few issues with the installation, but nothing major and the system has operated great since then. EMS has been responsive and attentive with their maintenance and servicing anytime I've called up until this last time. I don't know what has happened, but our relationship is over. They called to see I wanted to have the summer checkup conducted. As usual, I authorized them to come out. The unit was working well, and I want to keep it working well, so I keep it maintained. After the technician checked out the exterior unit, he informed me that I needed three replacement parts, with one being under warranty. This caught me by surprise for several reasons, the main being that the unit was not even 5 years old and he was saying the other parts were not under warranty, which I disagreed with. I asked him to have the technician who I had always dealt with, Eric, contact me to discuss. In the meantime, I checked the Installers Guide, which was left at my home during the initial installation, and it confirmed that the parts should be under warranty. I also did research online and found that the life of these parts should be much longer that I was experiencing. That afternoon, I received a call from Katie in the office. She offered to answer any questions I had. I told her I wanted to speak to Eric. I was denied access to him. Then she argued with me over the warranty, even the age of my unit. I asked her just to send me a quote, for labor, to replace the three parts. I received the quote of $1600, which also included two references to a misunderstanding of the warranty. There is no misunderstanding of the warranty, or at least, not on my part. She had given me three individual quotes, one for installing each part. I tried to call her back to address her misunderstanding of the warranty and to ask for one quote, since replacing them all at one time would be cheaper than three individual quotes. I sent two emails and called twice. No return call. Then I received a call from Tonia in the office asking if I wanted to proceed. I told her I was still waiting to discuss the quote. She said she would have Katie call me. At this point, I don't want to deal with Katie so Tonia said she would review the notes and call me back. I told her I was also obtaining a second opinion since I had serious doubts about their diagnosis. Within minutes, I received a new quote for $800 along with a note from Katie apologizing for an error in the previous one, but still claiming some misunderstanding with the warranty. The next day, I had another local, well established A/C company look at my unit. They found absolutely nothing wrong or in need of repair. With that in mind, I paid EMS for their Summer checkup call and sent them an email that I would not be using them any longer. I don't even want to do a 1 star this company is the worst they sent an un trained person out to my home and not only did he get shocked on one unit he got shocked on both units he didn't even pull the breaker plug out before testing on top of that he fried one of my units when all it needed was 2 small parts. When I called my warranty company to find out what to do next they said they hadn't even gotten any notes from ems about a month later they finally got notes and it wasn't even for my unit it was for someone else's my warrent company finally sent someone else out to confirm that ems fried my unit well the company who confirmed that cant fix it due to them not having the training for fixing a split unit they can diagnose but not fix so my warranty company told me that ems would have to be the one to fix my unit and cover the cost well they sent ems out again but ems sent someone who had only been there for 2 weeks and instead of figuring out if they could replace parts to fix it or if they would need to replace the whole unit he rediagnosed my unit and blamed it on ants so there for making my warranty company denie what was suppose to be done and covered by ems.. so now I'm with out ac for my mom who lives in that add on and I have spent the rest of what I have just to get fans to keep the air flow from the main house to hers and this started in March and my mom has been in and out of the hospital because of it, so instead of ems taking and admitting to what their worker did and just fix it they send someone to lie about the cause, when I already have it in writing what another company told me caused my unit (that mind you still did heating just not ac) to fry and now it doesn't even turn on. Awful. Would NEVER recommend. They came out to fix our heat on a Friday. Within 8 hours the heat was out. They avoided a calls and refused to come work Saturday (even though they were open). They do not return until the following Wednesday. The guy promises he fixed his issue which was totally his fault. 5 hours later the heat is out again. We call and they say "oh yeah we know what the issue is but we can't fix it until next week". THEY KNEW WE HAD A FURTHER ISSUE AND DID NOT FIX IT OR TELL US. They're hard to get ahold of and rude. For a little bit of dirt they will do everything to tell your insurance to deny your claim! That happened to me for a 25 year old fan motor! A grumpy technician said that the condenser coils were clogged, well that is what the first technician said, a second technician looked at it and was impressed because the amount of dirt was minimal! I feel they first send out to the call these companies that help deny these claims more often! So watch out... Do not hire them! Plus they mixed up some claims and they had me on 1 weeks delay without AC! I had kids that were in sweltering 90 degree weather in the house! They did not care! After receiving quotes from three companies, I was referred to EMS by a friend who used their services. New compressor, furnace and additional duct work. Quote was very reasonable but more importantly EMS answered multiple questions we had by email prior to the install. Of all the businesses we met with, the customer service we received fromEms was by far superior. Install was completed today. The entire crew was professional and friendly. No rushing to finish. Our A/C went out and we called EMS after hours expecting to leave a voice mail. Owner answered and said he would come out and look at it the next morning. He showed up at 10 am, did the work and was very reasonably priced. Fortunately, we didn't need a new unit and fortunately he didn't charge me for one. EMS Home Services was contracted through my home owners warranty to fix my a/c. First they come out diagnose the problem and order the part which takes a week to arrive. Then a tech comes to install it and tells me they gave him the wrong part. I wait another week then I call for a update and I'm told they would be out the next day to install it. On the day a tech was supposed come out I get a call telling me they didn't pick up the part in time and someone would be out the following day. I'm very dissatisfied with there service. read more
