    Happy Hour Food
    Sasha A.

Came here for the late night happy hour!! Loved the options they had, they had great options for both food and drinks. I got two rolls and gyoza. Both my rolls were AWESOME and the gyoza was the perfect app. Loved the dark / intimate vibe as well. Only taking away a star because it took quite a long time to get someone to take my order, check-in with me, or get me water. They had a good amount of staff around during the late night happy hour so I am hoping this was just a one-off. I will be definitely be returning!

En sushi is a great fast and simple option. I find all the fish to be very fresh and the rice is always the perfect texture. They have the best crispy onions as well. The service isn't the best but the food/price make up for it. Definitely recommend coming during the happy hour as the prices are fantastic.

This place has a great happy hour (mon-fri 3-7 pm) and pretty good sushi. The place is nice and usually good crowd but not overly packed. The service is sooo quick. They attend to you quickly and bring out the food and drinks fast. And they ask if you want to order anything else before HH is over. There was one server (little older lady than the other servers) who was a bit snappy and rude with us a couple of times when she interacted with us, which was unnecessary, but other than that, everyone else was nice. We got the lychee martini which was yummy and strong, the the sunomono (didn't love but was okay), the crispy spicy tuna which was delicious and good portion, the rainbow roll - good, and the albacore jalapeno roll and asked for crispy onions on top - this was decent. All from the HH menu. Finished off with the fried banana ice cream dessert. I would say I've had better sushi living in LA obviously but I would definitely recommend this place as a local HH spot when you want pretty good sushi and want to keep it lowkey and don't want to break the bank.

I have been coming to En for a DECADE! I love their food but what brings me back is their staff. David and Jenny have been a delight to dine with! Everyone else is amazing as well. The vibes are great, the food is spectacular! Recommend to anyone in west LA or visiting

This was a really cool experience. We had a big party and the team at En Sushi took good care of us. They were very attentive and very helpful splitting the bill. The food was excellent - the starters especially. The rolls were generous and full of fish. The ambiance was lovely, with a great decor and a calm environment. Can't wait to go back

Lunch special was wonderful! Came with sushi roll, sashimi, micro soup and salad. Staff was very friendly. It's next door to MD massage so it's wonderful to get sushi then a massage! Fish was fresh, as well as the avocado. Highly recommend this place one of my favorite sushi spots on the westside!

Excellent little sushi spot. Loved everything. Delicious cantaloupe soju drink as well. Friendly service. Nice casual ambience.

My new favorite sushi spot in my area. En Sushi is located on a blvd with lots of street parking. It's conveniently located and not hard to miss due to its location. Came here to enjoy their happy hour specials with my friend. I was pleasantly surprised at how extensive the happy hour meal was and everything all the menu that was included. When we first arrived, we were greeted by the friendly staff who gave us a rundown of the menu. We started off with lychee martini's, the beach sushi and the garlic albacore sashimi. Everything was delicious and came out pretty quickly. You can see the chef preparing the food which you can tell is handled with care. I loved the vibe of the restaurant! While it became busy, due to the restaurants spaciousness, we never felt crowded and had amazing seating.

Your average sushi. Food: Fish was decent, but the rice was not good. It felt as thought the rice was dry and old. Definitely not an authentic Japanese sushi place, so if that's what you're looking for, then this is not the place. For the price of each nigiri sushi, the quality was not up to par. On the other hand, they have a good lunch deal thats cheap and plentiful. Ambiance: Nice interior and spacious. Ample seating including booths. Parking: Limited parking behind the building (fits about 7 cars). Street metered parking in front of the restaurant. Service: Great! Super nice staff and quick service. Also came back frequently to refill drinks which I appreciated :) Overall, disappointed with the quality and taste of the sushi. But if you're looking for a cheaper lunch meal with average grade sushi, then you might want to hop into this restaurant!

coming back to update my review to 5 stars. this has become a friday night neighborhood staple over the last 6 years i've lived here. my go tos are as follows (and no, i never NOT order these!): lychee martini - the best i've ever had! & yes, anytime i see a lychee martini elsewhere, i order it & it never compares to en sushi's. crispy rice spicy tuna roll - the tuna is always fresh, rice is always perfectly crispy, & the topping proportions are perf. sesame chicken - holy JUICYYY & flavorfullll. i love. only issue i have is when it burns my mouth when i dig in right away, but that's a personal problem. and all of these items are on their happy hour menu! food comes quick & the staff is always so friendly. sitting by the sushi bar is a vibe. must eat!!!

I was just there this weekend and they only had happy hour for drinks. Not for food. Hope this helps!

They don’t answer phone calls. It is a fax. Is there valet offered on Saturday night and if so what is the charge?

Yes there is valet service everyday, i think they charge $3 also they have a public parking right across the street

Torisoba Sumiya will change the way you think of ramen forever…read more Their signature is the Japanese BBQ chicken ramen. They grill their chicken on a very hot flame, and it comes out with a lovely charred, smoky flavor. This combines with the thick ramen broth for a truly unique and incredible sensation. Each table has a small container of yuzu paste; I would recommend mixing in a good bit to add a slight kick and some citrus notes to the ensemble. Do note that the interior, while intimate and great for small groups, isn't the biggest, so on a busy day you might need to wait. That said, I've never seen Torisoba Sumiya too crowded yet, so it might still be something of a hidden gem. I'll end off by saying this is ALWAYS my go-to for showing visitors ramen in LA. The reactions have been overwhelming. I've had a group enter a flow state eating their meals in complete silence, only to realize after it all just how significant that is. Another group shed legitimate tears over experiencing a new tier of ramen. With this in mind, don't come when you're in a rush, but definitely make sure to try it when you are able.

Rumor has it Toshi-san, that lone chef from Yakitori-ya is still helming the charcoal here at Torisoba, having mastered and utilizing the existing grills that was for the yakitori to make the very best torisoba in all of Little Osaka. The charcoal-blackened chicken broth is full of flavor. Smoky and luscious but still light and clean. The spicy chicken broth is also very balanced and rich, matching perfectly with thin chewy noodles and tender chicken. We added the small rice bowls to the ramen for only $5 more and devoured it like the beasts we are. I also had a draft of Suntory Premium Malt and it was wonderfully chilled with the perfect head. Server was friendly and asked if we parked in the plaza lot next door because they validate parking for an hour and a half. Spread the word! Free parking in LA and especially on the west side is worth the price of gold, amirite? Thank you, Torisoba, for a most delicious meal. Keep up the good work. I can't wait to come back and try the other flavors. See you then.

Look, I think it would be extremely unfair to judge any experience when there's a wildly popular or intriguing at least pop-up involved, so I'm mainly focusing on the actual food. But to be honest, I went by myself and on the earlier side, so although there was a wait, my experience wasn't too bad. I truly felt for the servers in the kitchen because they were probably crazy busy all day. Walked up close to opening for the dinner service and signed up. It took me almost an hour to get seated, but that was to be expected. I went with the classic Hamburg Steak Omurice with demi-glace sauce. My egg was slightly overcooked because it wasn't as runny as I would have hoped, but the flavor was still there. And like I said, it's probably really difficult with the amount of these dishes. They were pumping out that day. Just a plate of comfort food that was delicious and that's what mainly I was looking for. I also ordered a side of natto (I believe it's a super food and I've grown a quite fondness of it) and a bottle of house sake. The vibe here was a little frenetic because of the popularity and traffic that day, but the servers kept their cool and were really friendly. Overall, just a great meal. I parked down the street where it was a little less busy but Sawtelle, if you know, can get really crazy in terms of traffic and parking. Especially in the lot where this restaurant is located. It's probably the epitome of how crazy the parking situation could be in the area.

The Chinchikruin chain offers Okonomiyaki or more commonly known to non-native Japanese folks as…read moreJapanese pizza. And I am fan. So when the Sawtelle Chinchikurin offered another Japanese bite by bite experience, I was like sign me up, I want to try their Hamburg Hangar Steak Omurice. And thus this review will specifically focus on my experience with the Omurice adventure, sponsored by the flavors and techniques of the land of the rising sun. So this Chin (what I will call this place so I do not have to check my spelling on the regular) is in a popular shopping plaza, so parking was limited. I found a single parking spot and entering it required skill and inch-by-inch patience and I went on a weekday. So I can only imagine that the situation on a weekend is so congested that even writing about it makes me shiver with stress. I can also imagine that these parking problems were non-existing during the Covid Era but, as we all know, these were replaced by far more serious one. Moving on from this odd aside, the point I wanted to make is that parking is not an easy feat when one visits this Chin. I entered alone and found an immediate sit in the counter where I could watch the cooks prepare the Omurice. I sat and prepared for the live culinary show. But before I explain the dance of knives and flips, I want to discuss the brief menu. As shown in the pictures, the Omurice experience came in four different options. Even though the four options seemed similar they were strikingly different simply because of their different sauce bases. For instance, the Mentaiko Omurice came with a cod roe sauce (the Mentaiko) but this seem to foreign for the day. So I chose the "most popular option" the one with the Demi-Glace Sauce. And, as my pictures show, I finished the entire plate. It was easy to like. It was easy to eat. It was also a hand-ons expeirence. I was able to use my spoon and fill it with the demi-glaze sauce then bathe the top of the omelette with it. Yes, I know that some people can say that I played with my food, but I would rather say that I engaged with my meal. I can easily understand why it is a celebrated comfort food, because like a comfortable movie that one re-watches, it is easy to understand, easy to get through, and makes one feel good after. There was nothing to deconstruct or heavily analyze. It was just a simple voyage into the familiar. Plus, the bear paw on top of the omelette was a subtle reminder that this dish was a work of art. On on a last note on sauces, one of the four options was also ketchup base. This option might be for kids or for those who do not venture much from what they know to be good when they were a kid. But of course, ketchup is a universal topping, so I may just thinking to hard on this Omurice, in fact, I probably am. But Miranda does it with clothes, Monk does it with germs, and Ramsey and I do it with rice and scrambled eggs. So... sue me? In terms of the show, I wanted more. I know that this place is not a teppenyaki spot, but I still wanted some dramatic flips, or gorgeous movement as an egg broken. I did take some videos so perhaps other viewers can find the pageantry in the movements. I did catch a staff member clean the stove top with a rag. I wanted it to be a wax on wax off moment but the swirls were not hypnotic enough. I then focused on the sizzling meat, getting ready for its moment in the plate, but it did not crackle with the noise of an erupting volcano, nor it spew steam like a crazy locomotive. It was just sizzling meat, which in its own way has beauty in sound. I captured the almost ready plate be sauced and the worker did swirl as they added the last drippings of the sauce and that was a moment where i caught a satisfying flare. I wanted more, I wanted less, minimalism in silent movements, but in the end the show was good but maybe just for the moment. I would go here again, especially when the Torrance location gets its turn at Omurice plate, because like I said, it was a comforting dish that was easy to enjoy!
