Convenient little cute sushi roll shop on the westside. Newly opened by a couple from Australia, Rolld Sushi is able to maintain quality and freshness by keeping their menu simple. The menu rotates daily, consisting of 5 or 6 classic rolls (salmon, tuna, yellowtail, and vegetarian options as well). The interior is modern, clean, and there is ample natural lighting - making for a very airy feel. There is no seating inside, although there are cute little seats outside to eat your rolls and people watch. Service is quick - you just point to the rolls you want, and the friendly staff package your selections. The rolls come with cute fish-shaped soy sauce bottles, wasabi, and ginger. There is decent street parking in this area of Santa Monica.

Fast Service. Rolls are pre-made. Rice is on the softer/mushed side. You get lots of rice but I think the fish is the same amount if you had gotten fresh rolls at Kazunori. Fish tastes fresher than supermarket sushi.

Just what Montana Ave needed! there's a couple of other handroll restaurants nearby, but what makes Rolld stand out is the fact that they're grab and go! There's no compromise for quality either with it being grab and go which I love. E.g. I love kazunori's handrolls but you have to commit to waiting in line, and sitting at the bar in order to get handrolls and you can't get theirs to go. Rolld has the same high quality of fish too. Already picturing myself taking Rolld handrolls to the beach, palisades park etc. SO happy to have this business here !!

As someone who doesn't usually go for hand rolls, this place blew me away. Great spot for a quick lunch or dinner.

10/10 new hand roll spot in Brentwood! Everything was great, but the salmon avocado was a stand out for sure!

We came in for dinner on a Sunday night with a large group and were seated within 15 minutes. From what we could tell, there were only two servers, and they were responsible for running their own food while also handling takeout orders. They did an AMAZING job for only two people managing so much. As soon as we were seated, we got waters and let our server know we would be paying separately. She was very friendly and worked with us perfectly. We were able to split the bill into four checks, which worked great for all the couples in the group. I ordered the Bento Box with salmon, and my husband got the Bento Box with chicken. We also ordered the Crunch Roll. The Crunch Roll came out first, and it was delicious and definitely lived up to the name--it was actually crunchy! I loved the size of the Bento Box. It came with so much food and included a starter miso soup. The miso soup had great flavor, although I personally prefer larger tofu pieces. That might just be a personal preference, though. I usually have a lot more to say in my reviews, but everything was absolutely delicious and the service was truly 10/10. I do want to mention that one of our friends ordered the ramen, and she felt the flavor was a little bland. Her parents own both a Mexican restaurant and a sushi restaurant, and one of her dad's rules is that if you're a sushi restaurant, stick with sushi and do it well instead of trying to do too many different things. One thing done really well is sometimes better than trying to do everything.

20 Years of Family Owned Sushi, From Monrovia to Santa Monica…read more We stumbled upon this place while shopping along Third Street Promenade, and it turned out to be one of the best spontaneous finds we've had in a while. Mikomi Sushi originally started in Monrovia and has been family-owned for over 20 years. Their new Santa Monica location carries that same legacy, and you can taste it in the quality of the fish. Ambiance The interior is surprisingly spacious, with a blue-tiled full bar and lantern-lit decor that gives off a relaxed, slightly upscale vibe--even during the day. It feels welcoming for both casual lunches and evening outings. Food - What We Ordered - Kaisen Don ($60)- This was the star of the meal. The bowl came generously topped with fresh sea urchin, scallops, ikura, and an assortment of sashimi (salmon, tuna, yellowtail), along with tamago and sweet shrimp. The shrimp heads were deep-fried separately--crispy and flavorful, a very authentic Japanese touch. The side salad and miso soup were also well-executed, not just afterthoughts. -Rainbow Battera & Fiery Salmon Battera ($19 each)- I had never seen square-shaped sushi before. A quick search revealed that this is oshizushi (pressed sushi) from the Osaka style. The rice was firmly packed, and the toppings were layered neatly, creating a beautiful presentation. The spicy salmon version had a pleasant kick without overpowering the fish. - We also noticed that the Crispy Rice Spicy Tuna and their signature cocktails are popular among other diners--definitely worth trying next time. Portion & Value Two of us shared the Kaisen Don and two Battera boxes, and we actually had leftovers. The portion sizes are generous, and considering the quality of ingredients, the price point is reasonable for the area. Service The staff was attentive and patient in explaining the menu items, which helped a lot given the extensive selection. Special Offers - Happy Hour: Monday-Thursday, 2:30-7:00 PM - nigiri starting at $3-5 per piece. - Weekend drink specials: Beer tower for $38, and bottomless mimosas or sake bombs for $18. Parking Meter parking is available, but we found it easier to park at the adjacent Public Parking Structure 1--just a two-minute walk to the restaurant. Overall This is a solid choice for any occasion--date night, group dinner, or even a solo treat. The quality reflects decades of experience, and the new location maintains that standard. I'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu.
