The two balcony's provided us extra space and views of the Sea of Cortez. The beach is steps away from unit 19 and one of the best beaches in Peñasco. There is a few mile drive on a dirt road from the highway. It's actually well maintained. Any vehicle can make it to the villas. I recommend and will return soon. The house had what we needed and was very comfortable. The only thing that was not so great was the pile of garbage outside the front drive. It never was cleaned up the whole 4 days we were there. That isn't the fault of Mar de Cortez, but the Los Conchas neighbored. Apparently that sort of thing doesn't bother the home owners. Would definitely recommend Mar del Cortez!

The first time I ever stayed here was back in 2009 and I've been staying here ever since! To start off every condominium I've had the pleasure of staying has been a 3 bedroom, which includes two bedrooms on a lower level floor and the master bedroom on the second level. It's such a convenient condominium for a large family which needless to say, usually around 8-10 family members join us on our trips to peñasco, so it's always great! Although most people don't go on vacations to cook, my family and I get good use out of the kitchen that every condominium is provided with, we make everything from breakfast to dinner! Good way to save money if you don't mind all the cooking :) I love the fact that there are not only 1, or 2 but 3 POOLS in this resort!! Most hotels only have a semi good size pool and one or two jacuzzi's but the fact that this resort has 3 pools is amazing!! And on the occasions that I've been there most pools don't get packed at all, since there are so many to choose from, guests go to all 3 instead of staying all in the same pool!! No need to worry about accidentally kicking someone if you're trying to swim lol Lastly, the staff is very under appreciated! They give the best customer service and are always super kind and helpful! A few weeks ago my dad and I made our reservations for the summer and a worker by the name of Fernando was able to assist us through everything smoothly! (FYI: if you book online you only have to pay half of what the room will cost for your entire trip! And once you get to the resort on the day of your arrival date you pay the rest! It's great because you don't need to worry about having to pay it all in full!) Anyways, Fernando was able to assist us very well and provided us with the room we stayed in last time we were here back in 2015! If you ever read this Fernando, thank you for your help!!! We greatly appreciate it! I will always enjoy my stay in Princesa de Peñasco! my family and I already booked our trip for next month in July and we cannot wait to be there already, soaking up the sun and swim in the pool and enjoy everything that this resort has to offer! I wouldn't be happy staying here more than 3 days tops ... here's…read morewhy Location: It's really far from the traditional resort zone (restaurant Ms, stores, etc) about a 15-20 minutes drive, the route is fairly isolated so after dark it's a little unnerving to take the drive. We did venture out but we were really nervous the whole time. Beach: they do have a private beach, but when its NOT high tide it's a really long walk to actually get to be beach. (Think 30 min walk) Pool rules: In a word they are ridiculous No outside food or beverages AT ALL or you could be charged a violation fee. No outside music or speakers or you could be charged a violation fee. *** FYI the violation fee is about $200. I understand trying to make sure the resort marketable but the fee is steep and also forces you to purchase food and alcohol from them. I think you could also be charged a violation fee if you are intoxicated. Again these restrictions are being applied while you are on vacation. Food: is kind of hit or miss.. breakfast wasn't that great, but dinner was delicious. Pricing was fair. They also are selling units (timeshare) and they're sales pitches are done at breakfast.. it was an odd to witness. The rooms: the bed was basically a cot with a mattress on the top and the bedding was poor quality. The bathroom was nice but the room has no personality no decor. It felt like motel 6 or less. The good: the rate was great, the pool views are beautiful & it's Mexico a quick drive from Phoenix. Te resorts looks beautiful from the outside.

Far from one's idea of a "resort", Laguna Shores has recreated--or perhaps even perfected--an…read moreabsolute suburban hell for the American vacationer. First of all, it has arguably the worst location of any spot you could pick in Rocky Point. It's miles away from any attractions, and its beach is the worst beach I've ever seen--a shoreline with hundreds of feet of rocks before you get to any water, and it's teeming with crabs. The renderings of the beach you see in ads are intentionally misleading. Did I mention it's a two-mile drive from the front gate to your room, and most of the property is just empty desert? Anyway, there's not much to do if you decide to stay put for a day. The pool and its accompanying bar are alright, but can only keep you interested for so long. There's a tennis court on premises, but it was always empty and there seemed to be no way to rent any sort of equipment. Even if you do partake--you will either have to drive or walk 10-15 minutes to get anywhere. If you're hungry, your only option at night is their fine dining establishment. There *is* a convenience store for snacks, but for some reason it's at the entrance (two mile drive!) instead of being embedded in the same area guests actually stay. It makes no sense at all. I would NEVER come back here. It's too far from everything, has dismal amenities, and nothing to do except lounge around the pool. Zero stars if I could.

Getting to know the owners is always a pleasure. The property is very well maintained and beautiful with all the amenities you could want. Gym, pool with a slide for kids, lazy river and negative edge pool, swim up bar and poolside restaurant. We typically rent a specific until ocean front on a higher floor which we love. The only drawback and the reason for this 4 star versus 5 star, is the one restaurant by the lobby called La Maria. It's a beautiful Restaurant with a beautiful bar. However the food is absolutely terrible and the service is nothing to talk about. It's a shame to have such a beautiful restaurant on property that is one of the lamest I've ever been to. Hopefully someday someone comes in to make it a nice place to eat and enjoy without having to leave the property. The crazy thing is the pool bar/restaurant and room service both have a better menu and better food than this restaurant. FYI. No need for a reservation and I don't recommend wasting your money there. However, the resort is excellent with great amenities, just skip the lobby restaurant.

We had daily cleaning service, fully stocked modern kitchen and our master bedroom was very spacious with a jet bathtub, walk in shower for 2, and a nice size closet. Our daughters had a nice bedroom with private bathroom, they had 2 queen size beds in there bedroom. Only issue was the master bedroom was warm and could not get the room to cool down. Wifi is sketch but just got to reconnect every few hours.
