The hostess, front desk staff, and valet were professional and friendly. In fact, our teenage boys commented on how pleasant the check-in experience was. We stayed in a two-bedroom unit. Although we would have preferred a full kitchen, the kitchenette was functional. The beach was filled with a large variety of shells and we enjoyed walking along the beach looking at shells and the amazing views. The beach was not at all crowded and provided a tranquil escape from out busy lives. With such a glowing review, you might find the 3-star rating surprising. The one-star sales experience dampened what had otherwise been an exceptional experience. They indicated the presentation would be 90 minutes. It wasn't. They indicated it would be low pressure. It wasn't. We arrived at 9:00 a.m. and finally walked out at noon with them begging us for the third time for "just 5 more minutes." We like to do business with people we can trust. We won't be doing future business with Vidanta.

The Food is well presented and satisfying tastes with service without compare. THE BAD - Meals are QUITE expensive and on a couple occasions the hours of operation that were posted weren't operational. ***The only heated spa was at the far south of the resort and every other spa and all the swimming pools were not heated and approximately @74-76 degrees. Far too cold to be comfortable. We were there for 5 days and the only people that got was my wife and a couple of smaller children. THE FLY INFESTATION was unbelievable and unbearable, we saw no attempt to solve the situation, spraying at night or using a fogger while people are asleep would have done something to defuse the situation. Either that or issue fly swatters and require 50 fly carcasses in exchange for a cocktail THE UNBEARABLE - After paying a USE FEE of $830 up front when making our reservation, upon arrival my wife and I were approached before checking in by a SALESMAN... "We like to schedule you for a review of your MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS " ! The following day, this turned into a HARDCORE UPGRADE SALES PITCH. Then almost immediately got to the point after saying NO a dozen times... we aren't interested in spending more money for a place that isn't providing a decent quality of operational facilities were I was ready to leave and just go home ! I asked for business cards from three different people who were involved in the process and never was given one of them, I also asked for a COPY of the benefits associated with our membership and never received that either. I was told I had to contact CORPORATE, even though it was sitting on the table in front of me. UNFINISHED AND UNDER CONSTRUCTION - The center section of the larger building was a concrete frame that isn't be used or even being worked on. It's pretty much a hollow structure that's just an eyesore. We were told that the vast majority of the money be pumped into Vidanta is being funneled to Nuevo Viarta for the water theme park and Cirque de Sola and the finished date for the Puerto Peñasco Mayan and Grand Mayan isn't even in discussion. IN SUMMATION - Our next visit to Puerto Peñasco WON'T include Vidanta, we can rent a VRBO right on the beach with no hassle for the equivalent cost.

Room was large and very clean; bed must have been a California king (since it was bigger than my king-sized bed). Kitchen area had a decent sized mini-fridge with an actual freezer, and a microwave. Interior walls are concrete/stucco, so I would imagine rooms are quiet even during the busy season. Our balcony was really only deep enough for standing room, not sure this is true for all rooms, but that was the only down-side. View was spectacular. All the staff was extremely friendly, and the bell person was especially informative. The included breakfast offered fairly minimal but well rounded selections; portions were ample--and delicious! They also offer an additional (paid) breakfast menu. Another on-site restaurant off of the casino area (La Arena 3C) was suuuuper good with amazing specials and happy hour pricing. On Taco Tuesday: three shrimp tacos and a chicken taco; three mini-quesadillas; a large bottle of jamaica aqua fresca; a beer; and a dessert special with two carajillos (coffee cocktails) and a small cake all came to $26.04. Ridiculous. We obviously ate there twice. There's a cute little "beach" area on the property just past the pool that overlooks the sea and has tables with umbrellas and lounge chairs, or daybeds. All with food/drink service. Perfect lounging (napping?) area. Since we were only visiting for two days we never left the resort property, and were perfectly happy with what was available to us. There is a drug store just across the street for water and other needs, but we brought all our own. Can't wait to come back and stay here again and explore the town!

The first time I ever stayed here was back in 2009 and I've been staying here ever since! To start off every condominium I've had the pleasure of staying has been a 3 bedroom, which includes two bedrooms on a lower level floor and the master bedroom on the second level. It's such a convenient condominium for a large family which needless to say, usually around 8-10 family members join us on our trips to peñasco, so it's always great! Although most people don't go on vacations to cook, my family and I get good use out of the kitchen that every condominium is provided with, we make everything from breakfast to dinner! Good way to save money if you don't mind all the cooking :) I love the fact that there are not only 1, or 2 but 3 POOLS in this resort!! Most hotels only have a semi good size pool and one or two jacuzzi's but the fact that this resort has 3 pools is amazing!! And on the occasions that I've been there most pools don't get packed at all, since there are so many to choose from, guests go to all 3 instead of staying all in the same pool!! No need to worry about accidentally kicking someone if you're trying to swim lol Lastly, the staff is very under appreciated! They give the best customer service and are always super kind and helpful! A few weeks ago my dad and I made our reservations for the summer and a worker by the name of Fernando was able to assist us through everything smoothly! (FYI: if you book online you only have to pay half of what the room will cost for your entire trip! And once you get to the resort on the day of your arrival date you pay the rest! It's great because you don't need to worry about having to pay it all in full!) Anyways, Fernando was able to assist us very well and provided us with the room we stayed in last time we were here back in 2015! If you ever read this Fernando, thank you for your help!!! We greatly appreciate it! Inside the visitor center are exhibits with information about the park, a topographic map, a gift shop and a place to stamp your national park passport book. A park ranger is on hand to help you with whatever you information you might have. This visitor center is named in honor of Kris Eagle. He was a law enforcement park ranger from Michigan. Kiris was shot and killed while he and several U.S. Border Patrol Agents attempted to apprehended two armed illegal aliens. There is a memorial out front that you can read about him. The Kris Eggle Visitor Center is open 7 days a week year-round. It is closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas.
