Hidden gem. Decided to check out this place and it was more than I expected. Located in a strip mall, parking was easy on a Saturday afternoon. Initially planning to check out one store ended up being 2 separate stores with the same name. The smaller store had so many nice items. There were figurines, artwork, dishes, A LOT of various glassware and more. And the prices were also good. The larger store was huge. This is where they have bigger household items. SO many different couches, chairs, dining tables, decorative rugs, etc. What I loved about these stores is that they were organized, clean, and have quality products for a good price. There's not much interaction with the employees at these places. The only one was at the smaller store when I paid for a purchase. Overall, good places for unique home decor. read more

When you move into a house that has nothing you look for places that speak to you, and this is one of them. The staff could not be more helpful, funny, smart, and in the end help you solve all the problems you have furnishing a house the way you want your house to look. The selection is overwhelming. You could spend all day looking at everything in the store. But the key is, you find these little special something that you must have and they make it happen. I didn't even know this store was here. Where do people from Rancho Santa Fe and nearby put things that don't sell at estate sales? Here! Huge warehouse on the other side of Encinitas Boulevard from sprouts. They had a lot of bookcases to choose from but I didn't find one that was the right style and size for me. But I would definitely come here if you're looking for used furniture, or decor, or even jewelry. Very cute lots of different prices. read more

The phone conversation was fine - called into Encinitas Consignment Classic and they told me to send pics of my antique via email. Then the rudeness began. Sent a detailed primer on the antique, plus a Google Drive of images. Yes, a Google Drive that ANYONE can access on their computer, tablet, or phone. Ridiculously the reply back was 'I don't see a photo.' and then 'Our systems can't access links.' Are their computer systems from 1997?!?!?! And they couldn't even pull it up on their phones? OMG complete and utter BS! DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING TO THIS PLACE. I've been using consignment stores for years and I've never encountered this situation before. I put some furniture on consignment in August and as I hadn't heard anything I called them today. I was told that my items had sold "out of contract" and that I was therefore entitled to nothing, nada, zero dollars. I feel like they "used me" to transport my furniture down there and then stole my money. Unbelievable! Guy says to me, "yeah it's in your contract." How can this be legal? I'll be looking into it. I have been consigning with Consignment Classics for years and have always had a wonderful, fun experience. I find pieces to paint, fix up, stain and most always sell my items for great prices. The store is loaded with hidden treasures! I love to browse and I come away with a lot of decorating ideas. I purchased my beautiful sofa from them at a very reasonable price. I was in your store this Monday at 9:00 am. I think I was the only customer. No one asked if I needed any help or even a polite "good morning " would have been nice. Then when I checked out spending over $200 the gal at the register just handed me my clothes and never said " thank you". There were at least 4 or 5 employees there and me. No one said a word to me. We regularly shop at the other locations in San Diego but whenever we're up north we swing by this shop too. The main store has a good selection of furniture, art, and lighting options and the little shop next door has great smalls including lots of glassware and dishes plus all kinds of decor items. So far we haven't found any furniture that fits our needs but we usually find something small to make the trip worthwhile. The furniture prices aren't a fantastic bargain but I think they reflect the fact the the furniture tends to be high quality. They have unusual items that you won't find everywhere else and that make a statement. read more

Love the Kurtz St location. Was in the area and stopped in looking for a kids table set. Found a set that would work, but it was missing one of the four chairs. 3 different reps went looking for the chair to no avail. There was a miserable old woman working the front desk who was adamant that despite the set being incomplete I had to pay full price. I asked for a whopping $5 off for the missing childs chair and again she refused saying it wouldn't be fair to the store or the seller. What the hell about me? I needed the set so I just ate the cost. I'll avoid this location going forward unless the store wants to make it right. I don't understand the logic of arguing over something so sensible. I've spent thousands of dollars at the Kurtz location. Just a shit experience. Hope someone talks some sense into that rude old bag. read more

The prices and selection are way better than I remember. So much quality furniture, you just have to look for it because the place is stacked to the rafters. Good quality hardwood pieces. They also have a decor shop across the parking lot with some interesting things. Real vintage mixed in with reproductions but if you're a true bargain hunter you will not be disappointed. read more

Received a fairly rude response to a consignment inquiry "We cannot take these". That was it. $1,700 counter stools, that did have some wear (but functional completely and look great from 80% of angles) AND they sell junk in this store. That last 10 times I've stopped in it's all worn golden oak furniture from your Grandma's house. I don't even care that they didn't want them, I am more than happy to donate them, but how about "Thank you for inquiring, unfortunately we do not have a market for this style/condition/whatever." This review is for the smaller part of Consignment Classics, not the big furniture store next to it. Not welcoming at all. One of the ladies working there today with dark hair was so rude to us. We had 6 glasses that we wanted to set down while we continued fo shop. She said you're supposed to leave them on that table, that's what that table is for!! My daughter said oh we didn't know. While she just stared at us moving the glasses from the counter to the table. Total hag. The other lady that rang us up was nice enough. The dark haired lady, totally rude and shouldn't be working anywhere with customers at all!! Won't bother giving them my business ever again. Really awful vibes. I help a sweet senior lady who took a rug to this place for resale. All that they wrote on the receipt was just light green and cream rug. If the rug was not sold they would return it. They lost it. And then they started taking advantage. They said it was policy to only give 1/2 the amount it was being sold for. It was on sale for $139. We went in 3 separate times. They kept saying the manager had to see the receipt to decide what to do. It took 3 weeks to get it settled. We were not given the manager's name. The end result was a check for $69. They mailed it to the wrong address. Then reissued it. So my lovely senior got $69 for a brand new rug worth400. And none of the employees knew what to do.Go to a place like facebook marketplace or Nextdoor. This place is a rip off. read more

Every time I go get my botox fix, I have to come to this consignment store as it's couple stores over. There are variety of items from different era's and tastes. I received a charity receipt from an unknown charity. I looked it up online, and there was ZERO information other than their tax ID and ONE name. They called me and told me that they "worked with" other well known charities. My research does not support this. They offered to send me a tax receipt from these other charities they "work with." I haven't received anything further. I have my doubts my furniture went to any charity. The paperwork provided shows absolutely nothing about how they made a determination that my furniture was unsellable. IF you do choose to consign with them, make sure you are present every step of the way. If they say they are giving to charity,physically be there when they load the truck. Personally, obviously, I wouldn't recommend doing business with them. read more

This used to be my Go To place for cool finds but when I went today - I found that it was a total waste of time and gasoline. First I went into the smaller shop that sells primarily glassware looking for some rock glasses. What I saw were shelves and shelves of glassware marked up way beyond what I would have paid (literally) at a Home Goods store. The fact is - that I stopped into Home Goods before I got to this consignment store. I found a set of some exact barware glasses that were $5.99 (for 4) listed at HG - and at the the consignment they were used priced at $4 each. Just insane prices - everything so marked up that I left and walked over to the furniture store-part where I could see that the prices there had also climbed. Sorry - you used to be a place that I highly recommended - and I will now steer colleagues away from. read more
